The Dark Knight was an excellent movie. From beginning to end I couldn't get off the edge of my seat, Christian Bale did an excellent job yet again playing the Batman, and Heath Ledger definitely went out with a bang. The movie was kind of dark and creepy at times but it never disappoints, I would recommend this to anyone but anyone with kids should definitely take precaution. If your kids were afraid of clowns before, just wait... But if you get a chance, SEE IT! I can't wait for the next one

Our group of 46 year olds down to 12 year olds where ready to walk out after an hour and a half of continuous killing and mentally psychotic rambles. It is 2 1/2 hours of constant gruesomeness. There where little girls sitting in front of us crying and a lot of woman walking out. I think everyone in the theatre kept hoping at some point the slaughtering would end and there would be a sense of purpose to it all somehow. Never happens, and the sick images stick with you unfortunately for a day or two. If this is what America findsentertaining we are all in trouble........and how sad for this to be Heath Ledgers last performace. Portraying a very sick human being that no one had the guts to save.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Brilliant. The best Batman movie yet...Heath Ledger made the Joker what the Joker is supposed to be and it makes his death even sadder because he will never be able to play that role again....he should win many awards for his spot on performance.
My only complaint about this movie (and its a minor one) Batman's voice is a little weird but I can live with that.
I hope that this movie gets more people interested in Comic Books because without comic books modern movies would not be what they are today.

Dark Knight is more of an event than a movie. It's big and bold, wide and deep. The performances are larger than life yet fully human and extremely stirring. The special effects and new toys are simply dazzling.
The plot unfolds in somewhat of a puzzle that eventually comes together. I found the character & dialogue of The Joker to be one of the finest metaphors for the implacable, sociopathic enemy we face in the real world, in the War on Terror. Pay special attention to Michael Caine's brief but stunning appearances.
Likewise, I found the portrait of Batman and his small band of loyal allies to be an accurate and haunting metaphor for President Bush -- the hero we don't deserve, but the hero that we need... the hero who doesn't flinch regardless how many people abandon the mission.
But over and above everything, Dark Knight is HUGELY entertaining. It is so rare these days to feel like you got an excellent product from Hollywood. Too often Hollywood only gives normal earthlings a slap in the face for their hard earned money. I am very pleased for Heath Ledger that Dark Knight will add a big gold star to his legacy. He gave a very disturbing, unforgettable performance.
To be honest I cannot wait to pay more money to see Dark Knight a second, and maybe a third time. I don't think I was able to absorb it all in one sitting.
I'd say the PG-13 rating is just right.

Could have used a little editing...a bit long, and a few too many chase scenes, but all in all very entertaining. Ledger was great. Gyllenhall was a little lackluster, seemed to be a bit bored by it all...I liked Bale and the support cast. I didn't even recognize Oldham at first. He was very believable.

The Dark Knight is an all new caliber of superhero films. Frighteningly realistic, the Dark Knight continues to leave behind the corniness of the early franchise (Batman Forever, Batman and Robin), and creates the feel of a realistic graphic novel.
It is much darker than the summer movies that we are used to and is not exactly a family friendly film. However, this is the movie of the summer. It may be hyped up, and may not live up to its expectations of being the greatest movie ever made, but it is still a truly suspenseful, entertaining, energetic, oscar-worthy movie.
Heath Ledger's brilliant performance as the Joker overshadows the rest of the characters in the previews, but the rest of the cast is just as rock solid. Christian Bale is fantastic again. Michael Caine is not used as much in this film as in Begins, but his scenes are just as solid, and we still see a bit of witty banter between Alfred and Bruce.
Gary Oldman continues to breathe life into Gordan, making him a much more personable character than the bumbling old commissioner in the older films. His performance may just bring tears to your eyes more than once throughout the movie.
And of course, Aaron Eckhart. Eckhart's Harvey Dent was probably one of the best roles he has ever performed in. He was truly awesome, covering a wide range of emotions throughout the entire movie. If Heath Ledger's performance had not completely stolen the show, you would not stop hearing how fantastic Eckhart was.
Which brings us to Ledger. The word "Oscar" has been thrown around a lot in relation to Ledger and his role as the Joker, and I would not be surprised if he earns a much deserved post-humous award at the Oscars. From his magic trick, if not even from the first time you see him, you wait for Ledger to return to the screen. You honestly cannot wait for the next scene he is in. He delivers most of the laughs, most of the chills and thrills, and the most memorable scenes in the movie.
Do not miss this film.

The theater I saw this at (AMC - Arbor Lakes Mn screen #8) was grate - except it was not capable of handling the audio challenge. The music & sfx, combined to create a 'wall of sound' that precluded hearing Batman or the Joker for a variety of critical lines.
I suppose this will make the second viewing even more enjoyable. This movie is very nicely done - go & enjoy.

It Just Might Be. If you havent seen it yet, go and see it NOW. The acting was some of the best I've seen all year, and I've never been in a movie where the tension has you gripping the edge of your seat the ENTIRE TIME. If your a fan of intense action movies, you have to see this.

THE superhero movie of the year- filmmakers diverged from a traditional "action" film and included plenty of moral confilcts for all characters involved... well, maybe not the Joker. Definitely worth the money to see in theaters!

I went into the theatre with high expectations and walked out completely satisfied. Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker was chilling yet humorous. There were times when the entire audience was completely silent because of their focus on his character. But, even in such an ominous role, he managed to make the audience laugh. Christian Bale is great, as always. Aaron Eckhart has the cocky flare reminiscent of his role in Thank You for Smoking. His transition from Harvey Dent to Two-Face was smooth and captivating.
The only negative I can say is Maggie Gyllenhaal, although a great actress, didn't quite fit into her role. Her one kiss scene with Bruce Wayne was quite awkward, and she lacked chemistry with him. However, one could say she did this on purpose since their characters drifted apart in the movie. So, maybe the awkwardness of her role was fitting.

This film rates as the best Batman installment yet. While a couple of stumbles are inevitable, they are hardly noticed as Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, and Aaron Eckhart guide this film down the path of success. The Joker might be the most ruthless villain to grace the silver screen in quite some time. This is a gritty and determined effort to replicate the feel of the comic to celluloid. Well done and I can't wait to see what they come up with for the third installment of this latest Caped Crusader vehicle.

No words exist to accurately describe the overall experience of seeing this film. Transcendent, maybe. All I can say is, even with all the hype, getting up extra early, standing in line, and being surrounded by people on both sides in the theater...it was still the perfect movie experience. Unlike any other. And if you weren't affected by Heath Ledger's death before seeing this movie, you will be afterward. You won't help but realize what an extreme loss it is to everyone that he won't be around to show us what more he can do. The movie will rattle you to your core, especially the Joker, and you'll be talking about it for hours, maybe days, afterward. Enjoy!

Clearly the best of the Batman/Superman/Spiderman genre of films.
Knight is 2.5 hours of action, stay tuned because if you miss a bit, you may get confused. Use the sanitary facilities before the movie starts, you won't want to miss a minute of this thriller!!!
No silly schtick in this one, but honest action, quite superb stunts and great staging. If you have not seen it you are missing out.
Too bad we won't have the same "Joker" for the sequel.

This is by far one of the best Batman films ever made. Heath Ledger easily made himself into not only the best version of the Joker, but quite possibly one of the greatest movie villians of all time. Great thing about this sequel compared to others is that its not just a revising of the first movie, its completely different and is very entertaining. Only drawback I can come up with is that the film does stretch on a bit long but its worth it. Heath deserves an Oscar!

Well, whats to say. Its the best movie of the year so far. Very good acting, good screenplay, good directing, good cgi effects. Top notch all around. From the start the action keeps you pinned to your seat for the entire 2 1/2 hours. They dont give you any background story on any characters -and I love it. More time for action!!!! and they delivered. Much better than Batman Begins - as it should be. The point of part two's or trilogys is to improve on the previous film. The Joker makes the movie. He makes it realistic and Dark. As you watch Batman you begin to feel things are going to happen like Spiderman but they take a twist all there own and thats what makes this movie original. Stop reading this and go buy some tickets so you can still watch it on the big screen.
