This movie is a thriller, filled with unimaginable effects, cinematography, and action. The movie is, however, filled with acts of violence and for this reason alone I think the PG-13 rating is too liberal. For older ones and adults this is a great movie. The big screen is the only way to see this movie. I chose to not rent it as our 60" screen would not do justice to the total scope of the film. "loved it".

Yeah... I don't know why everyone is freaking out about this movie. It was two and a half hours of watching people kill each other . Show me something I haven't seen in a movie.
Did people not notice that the movie ended three times and the first ending was the best.
Heath Ledger was convincing but I really thinking if he hadn't died people would not big making such a big deal out of his Joker, someone had to say it.
Finally I can't believe people took their kids to this show. I, at 27, had to cover my eyes. And they wonder why kids are so violent these days... hmmmm
Oh and why was Christian Bail talking all raspy when he was batman... that was certainly lame.
Also it was too loud and I couldn't hear for a half and hour after watching.

Heath Ledger gives without a doubt the best performance of his career. He elevates this film from a decent action flick to Oscar worthy gold. It is unimaginable that anyone could dislike this film after seeing Heath Ledger take the Joker character from a comical psychopath to a truly disturbing and complex villain. Christian Bale also gives a great performance. He is arguably the best Batman to ever wear the cape. Anyone who likes Batman will love this movie.

I have now seen this film twice and noticed two things: first, the demand to see it is still there, second, it is still worth watching the second time around. The only thing that disappointed me was that I will not get to experience the unfolding of the mystery for the first time ever again. Where Jack Nicholson made himself part of joker, Heath Ledger is no where to be found in his interpretation. Christian Bale puts his Batman to it's limits, along with everyone who befriends him. And for the first time this summer, I couldn't guess where this film was leading me. If you don't see it in the big screen, you're doing yourself a great diservice. I know I'm going back at least one more time.

The Dark Knight didn't showcase the intriguing character of Bruce Wayne, but instead focused on Batman. This movie was non-stop action, but included quite a bit of humor. The joker proved to be creepy, methodical, and funny! The joker was a devlish criminal, but I found myself unable to dislike him, and I anticipated every new scene with him in it.

I knew this movie would be amazing. But would it be all fighting and action and a dead plot line, as many movies have been lately? The answer - NO. I was captivated for all 2 and a half hours of the move, never once checking my watch or staring at the ceiling hoping the story would "move along." Absolutely go see this move. See it twice. Then buy it on DVD.

This is apparently a 4 hour movie that has been reduced to 2 1/2 hours (thankfully) but as a result the plot is pretty much imcomprehensible (that is if you want to follow along rather than just ooh and aah at the special effects!) Not a movie for the discerning viewer which I guess separates me from most of the other cheerleaders on this site! OK so Heath Ledger is very good in this but without him on screen you are left with a humorless, confusing apocalyptic epic.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Heath Ledger's final performance as the joker was amazing! I do wish Christian Bale would drop the gravely Batman voice though, that is a bit over the top. No spoilers here but you will be pleasantly suprised at the addition of other villians you know all too well. I can't wait for the next one! Hopefully we will get the penguin in the next one!

The makers of the new Batman have outdone themselves. Visually stunning, excellent performances, and a great story. If I had any complaints it would be that Batman himself wasn't shown as much as I would have expected. In a time when the price of admission is very excessive, this is a sure bet and not a waste of money or time.

I'm one of those people who reads the hype, goes into the theater, and comes out disappointed. Things are so built up by the hundreds of internet, blogosphere- chuckleheads that by the time I get an opportunity to see the movie, the reality of the film can never exceed the expectations of my blog fed imagination. This time things were different. The movie was great. It was every good thing I'd read, plus. I really want to go back in see it in IMAX.

Heath's performance was the highlight of the movie - controlled depravity - his characterization was superb and will not be easily matched - yet it was heart breaking to watch - you were reminded of how much life this this young actor had.
Overall a superb movie, unexpected twists, heart stopping action, characters that had depth. Too dark for kids 13 and under.

Refreshing to have a super hero film w/ great dialogue and a complex antagonist, one w/a tantalizing view of the world. An anarchist. Idealism in a most extreme form. Dark Knight has brought to the action/comic book movie a level of conflict between good/evil, usualy relegated to the so called "serious dramatic" film. The Nolans have crossed that line. Hopefully this is the beginning of better scripts for the "action movie." This is a must see for all fans of well written movies.

In addition to the amazing fight scenes and intense, dark crime organizations, Heath Ledger put on an incredible performence. (That was an understatement.) Every time that Heath, The Joker, licked his lips or told the story about his scars I truly believed he was an insane, crazed mob boss. I'm not sure that late actors can win an academy award, but Heath Ledger could surely be in line.

The movie is good, but not as good as the hype. The Joker is awesome but equally so is Batman. The movie is too long, about twice as long as it seems like it should have been. I heard the same comments coming out of the theater by others so it wasn't just my group. The 2 Face character could have been it's own movie and if they would have just focused on the Joker plot it would have been better. Christian Bale is Batman.
