Ok not the best movie ever, best batman ever no. I feel its prior film was better than this one. Very obvious from the time Harvey Dent enters his 1st scene that he is to become two-face. The bat-cycle looks like it is crawling along past scenes and they just jacked up the volume and I hate that Mr.Bale yells all the time as batman, no one else did that and it just seems cheesy. On the good side, Ledger was great as a psycho, he really engulfed the role, Sir Quinn is very belevable and Freeman is always great. The special effects are good and the sound effects and score very well done. Obviously Hans Zimmer but great none the less. Lets try to weed out the whole James Bond and "Q" thing when looking at new weapons too. Over all I was entertained but looked too many times at my watch to give it a "5".

I just got done seeing the Dark Knight for my second time. I have to admit, it is the best movie I have seen all summer. It is hard to for to find a negative aspect to mention besides for the sad point where the movie has to end. Ledger gave a performance of a lifetime and he greatly deserves a statue for it. The movie is very entertaining and the lengthy run time breezes right through.

No lie -- I'm not a big fan of superhero movies. Spider Man didn't particularly interest me, and the Batman movies with Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney always seemed more hokey than entertaining. However, I watched Batman Begins and was instantly interested. Christian Bale is by far the best Batman, in my opinion, moreso because of his portrayal of Bruce Wayne. You can believe both characters with Bale; not so much with previous Batmans, who were usually better at one or the other (or neither). I liked the darker, less comic-booky style of Batman Begins, which made The Dark Knight a must-see.
The Dark Knight was, simply, fantastic. I would have to rank it as one of the best movies I have ever seen, maybe even THE best movie I've ever seen. Batman Begins established Bruce Wayne/Batman and his fundamental character traits, but The Dark Knight goes miles further.
Christian Bale was once again astounding, as well as Gary Oldman, both of them returning from the previous movie. Michael Caine was comfortable in the role of Alfred, and Maggie Gyllenhaal was leaps and bounds better than Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes. However, Gyllenhaal wasn't given much to work with, in my opinion. Aaron Eckhardt as Harvey Dent was okay, but I think they could have got any number of reputable actors to play it with the same unremarkable gusto.
Of course, Heath Ledger was magnificent, utterly terrifying and fascinating as The Joker. I have never felt that way in a movie theater before -- almost physically ill whenever he was onscreen, but still trying to repress the urge to laugh at his mannerisms and . . . jokes. Ledger was obviously devoted to this character, because it shows. When I think of the places he must have had to go to to portray this sickening, disgusting, yet FUNNY character, I almost feel sorry for him. But this is a defining role for him -- even was he still alive, this would probably stand as the greatest role of his lifetime. If he doesn't at LEAST garner an Oscar nomination, something is wrong with this world.
Basically, The Dark Knight is virtually flawless.

Not really what I expected. It was too dark and so sad that Batman was made to look like the bad guy. I really do believe that Christian Bale is the best Batman. And the Joker was left dangling...what became of him? Especially since Heath Ledger is no longer available to reprise his role? I left the movie feeling uneasy and alittle disappointed about the loose ends.

This movie was great, Heath Ledger's performance was incredible - a bittersweet experience to see it in light of his tragic death. Graphic violence and sheer magnitude of it was unsettling. Lots of plot surprises. Possibly movie was too long however.

* Ledger was absolutely amazing. No one should ever attempt to play the Joker role again. They couldn't do it justice.
* Once again, I had a slight problem with Bale as Batman: Last time it was his upper lip throughout the film. This time it was the ridiculous voice in every scene. Obnoxious.
* The movie was about 25 minutes too long. I kept thinking it was over and it just kept going.

Finally, a Batman movie that's as dark as the title suggests. This is by far the most action packed, intense, and violent Batman movie ever made. In fact, it's so intense that at some points I found myself asking why it wasn't rated R. That said, this is NOT a movie for kids. 13 year olds can probably handle it, but parents need to be very cautious about bringing kids any younger than that.
The movie itself is fantastic all the way through. It very much lives up to the hype of the critic reviews. Ledger's performance is incredible, and honestly, I don't even really care for the guy. It's action packed from start to finish.
The only thing I think this movie lacks is some of the great panoramic shots that were in Batman begins. Most of the movie is filmed at "street level" and you sort of lose a sense of how great the city of Gotham is.
Overall I give this 9/10 stars. I liked it equally as Batman Begins, but they are very different movies. It's a must see.

The standout performance is obviously Ledger's Joker, but the writers get credit as well. This is the first time I can remember the Joker from a film doing things the Joker from the comic books would do. Ledger's joker is playes as a brilliant psycopath that never dips into camp. I love Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne, but his voice as the Batman is annoying. The portrayel of Two-Face was so good, I hated the ending for the character.

My 20 year old son saw the movie and said it was a must see. A little skeptical my husband and I went. I have to admitt I was kinda looking forward to seeing Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. I must say, WOW. He captured the true essence of the Joker. The movie was amazing. sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next moment to come. Nervous, scarred, laughing and yes almost crying, these are just some of the emotions felt while watching this movie. The only negative thing I must say. Batman, clear your throat.
I would see it again. Not really for small children though. There was alot of dark comedy. and violence. Thank you Joker. You did not know what to expect next from him. You were even able to see the darker side of batman.
I say it is a must see.

I was prepared for the title, but I thought the "dark" theme was over-done and inconsistent. I am not sure what the "message" was for those in the audience, but I thought it "lost its way" several times; and the ending could have been more "comfortable" and redeeming...Not as good from a theme standpoint as other Batman movies.... 5 Stars for effects, acting of at least the Joker was excellent; but many times the voices were drowned out my the music (which ironically was very good). My of the movie was difficult to understand and follow as well as difficult to hear (again because of the music being too loud at the wrong time).

Possibly one of the best movie's I've ever seen, period. Despite what you may have heard, in my opinion Heath Ledger's role in this movie would still have been oscar material regardless of his untimely death. His performance was both utterly believable and completely terrifying. My only regret about this movie was that the IMAX version was sold out for the whole weekend so I had to see it on a smaller screen!

This movie was absolutely amazing. It was so intense and just kept surprising me all the way through. The performances were amazing--especially Heath Ledger's Joker who was like Alex DeLarge but a hundred times more twisted and frightening. I have enjoyed Batman movies in the past, but this was the first one that I truly loved. Go see it right away before someone slips and gives something away!
