Two words: Amazing Movie.
This was one of those movies that kept my attention from the very beginning to the very end. Continuous action, good story line, and pretty good acting all around. There were maybe one or two scenes that really didn't belong, but other than that, I found no flaws.
I didn't originally buy into the Heath Ledger hype; I was convinced that the hype was more about emotion than about his acting, but he truly did immerse himself into his character and stole the movie. I was blown away. I am sad to think that the next movie will not feature him as his character, and almost dread the thought that Warner and DC Comics will try to replace him. He was that good.
I recommend this movie to everyone. Kids 10 and younger will probably be scared by some of the content, so be careful there. Other than that, the whole family will enjoy this movie.

This was an exceptional movie! The calibur of performences was great. It is truly a shame that Heath Ledger didn't get to see the finished product of his performence. It was brilliant. Christian Bale was amazing as Batman/Bruce Wayne. I would recomend this for everyone even if the "super herro" movies aren't quite your thing give this one a chance it might just change your mind.

This is in my All Time Top Ten Movies; with the likes of The Great Escape, Gladiator, Passion of The Christ, etc.. Will see again. Even my wife agreed to this being one of the best she has ever seen. This is not her type of movie.

When they said this Batman was darker than the rest, they meant it. This is definitely the darkest Batman flick thus far. Outstanding storyline and action. However, the film was stolen by Ledger. Best acting of any action film ever! He was mezmerizing to say the least. Any scene without him left me missing him....I hope that he is recognized for this effort and achievement.

Any doubt that Chris Nolan could continue his relaunch of the franchise can surely be put to rest here. This was by far the BEST Batman movie of the entire series. Very dark, even scary at times. I was most impressed by Ledger's turn as the Joker. My first though of all of the media buzz was that it was simply overhyped adulation for the late actor. To my mea culpas, his performace was spot on and captured the psychotic rage and chaos of the Joker better than anyone else ever could (my apologies to Jack Nicholson).
Aside from the performances, the story was engaging and very thought provoking for a summer popcorn flick. The underlying theme of how quickly good can turn to evil has been a staple of the Batman comics, and it was nice to finally see that come out on the screen.
Definitely worth a second viewing.

Drop whatever you are doing and go see it now if you haven't yet. Amazing followup to Batman Begins. Ledger is outstanding in his sick and twisted portrayal of the Joker while Eckhart and Bale fill their roles as expected. Action, humor, drama, this movie has it all. Best movie of the summer!

What an amazing job by Heath Ledger! Every scene with the Joker left me wanting more. The rest of the movie reached my expectations. All of the acting and action scenes were on par with the first one. I especially loved the opening. It really set the tone.

The Dark Knight is not only the best superhero movie; it is also one of the best movies I've ever seen. It has every element needed to make a great film. And each element is done so well that this great film becomes one of the greats. Heath Ledger is for sure a stand out. He gives his best performance by far and at the end of this film you miss him all the more. However, he is not the only one who deserves recognition. Again, Christian Bale gives the Batman and Bruce Wayne due justice. Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman also bring back their wonder. And Maggie Gyllenhaal is a welcome addition. The story line is excellent and carries itself well. There was not one moment during this movie that mind was wondered or my eyelids struggled. I was in for the entire ride and it was a great one.

These new series of Batman movies are much more in line with what the character was designed for. The internal struggles that Batman goes through on camera was incredible. Understanding that the main thing between him and the people he is after is that he refuses to kill people allows us as viewers to be a part of his moral battle.
Heath Ledger was phenominal! Can't wait for the next one to come out.

"The Dark Knight" has raised the bar of the superhero film genre so high that it has transcended it. Like "The Departed," this is Hollywood filmmaking at its very best, in which all participants from Director Christopher Nolan, the screenplay, set design, editing, special effects, music score and of course, ALL of the performances are at the top of their respective crafts. Heath Ledger is nothing short of astonishing and equal praise is given to the entire cast as well. This is an adult film set in a very real world and I appreciated the continuously deepening and sometimes tragic moral complexity of the story. Just like how HBO's "The Wire" ultimately became a Dickensian tale about the death of Baltimore, "The Dark Knight" scales equal heights as this is the story of Gotham City's morality. Brilliant. Exciting. Stupendous. I wanted to see this thing all over again the second the end credits stopped rolling.

Since this movie had so much hype going into it, I was to say the least a bit skeptical.. I have to admit, it is every bit as good as the first, and some parts are actually better. Since the Batman character is already established, the film gets to the action quickly. But it is not another beat 'em up and cash in deals. The character development is incredible, especially for a comic book based movie. Speaking of incredible, I can't say enough about Heath Ledger. It's af if they went down to the psycho ward and found the most warped, maniacal, sociopath ever and filmed him doing whatever he could think up. It is too bad the Joker can't return in future Batmans. ANYONE else will not do, he is that good. As good as Jack was in the 80's version (he saved the film), Heath is that good squared. And that is saying something since Jack is the best actor going. The only small problem is Maggie G. as Rachel. She was OK, but not nearly as good as the rest of the cast. The best Batman movie to date...

It was definately worth the money to see. Plenty of action. I went into to it not even trying to compare it to other Batman movies. Heath Ledger did an excellent job. He reinvented the joker.

Simply put, this bat rocks. This movie was non-stop action from opening to close. The story was superb and the performances were top notch. Special effects fantastic. Also, about half way through the movie you will get the feeling that it is almost over but hang on as the second course is just about to begin. 5 stars does not even begin to say it for this one.

Wow where do I begin. The Dark Knight has to be one of the greatest comic-book movies ever if not the one of the greatest movies ever. It is out-does Batman Begins in every way and I think it manages to transcend your average superhero movie it is just mind blowing. Heath Ledger's performance deserves all the hype he recieved because he steals the show entirely. He is truly terrorizing on screen and is force to be reckoned with. All the other actors do an amazing job and everything about this movie is perfect. Do yourself a favor and go out and see this movie now.
