The Dark Knight is vastly different from your average hero movie, it is much more perceptive and shows not only the good and bad sides of humanity but those grey shades in between that are often left out of movies. Additionally, the acting was superb, particularly that of the late Heath Ledger, who really seemed to understand that there is more to the Joker than meets the eye at first glance. Highly Recommended. Enjoy!

I found Dark Knight to be a compelling film about the world we live in now. Heath Ledger's performance is off the charts, Oscar calliber hand's down. The visuals are very good, and the rest of the cast is excellent. BUT there were many very young children in the theatre, some of them crying, and their parents did not take them out. This film is nightmare material for children under 12!!!!!!!

Best action-adventure film I have seen in a long time. The acting was brilliant, the story was superb, the special effects were astonishing. A definite must-see film. Heath Ledger is the Man! RIP HL, you will be missed.

This is one of the first movies I have seen in years that actually lived up to the hype. Heath Ledger as the Joker is outstanding! It's a shame he wont be here to add to his maniacal rendition of the Joker.
Christian Bale has a strong performance as Batman, but Ledger steals the show. He is the villain that you cant help but to enjoy and almost route for.
I highly recommend this movie, whether you're a Batman fan or not.

A lot of attention is going to be given to Heath Ledger for his performance, and rightfully so, but don't overlook Aaron Eckhart who also gave an Oscar worthy performance. The film was extremely well made and I would rank it as highly as Batman Begins.

This movie was way better than I had expected. The joker was definatly the best I had ever seen. Christian Bale was very good in this movie. Unlike most movies, I am glad this one came out with a sequal. But I am not sure how they will make the third movie, the joker will never be the same with out Heath Ledger.

The movie was excellent. Heath Ledger was superior. Michael Caine a perfect choice and Christan Bale proves to be an impressive Batman. Movie was interesting, powerful and disturbing at the same time. Not predictable which added to the interest level of viewers. Do not recommend for children (under 14). Not the usual fun, kids movie. Good casting, writing, effects.

This movie was awesome. I was a little leary of the joker storyline and how it would compare to the first go at it and the original comic book. I am glad to say that they did a wonderful job. My husband is an avid comicfile and he was blown away with how dark the movie got. We took our 12 year old daughter to see this movie, and even though there were a few spots that were intense for her, she enjoyed it as much as we did. We couldn't stop talking about it the whole way home (that was a one hour drive). If you are not sure if you would like it or are afraid this version would not measure up to the Batman Begins movie, I say go! Most emphatically GO!

This sequel is worthy of the first. The story is twists and turns. The new characters are interesting and the Joker is the character that is a match for our much maligned and misunderstood Batman. They are the cutting edge, sharp and thin as a knife between "good" and "evil". Sanity and insanity are shown for what they are joined twins, the sick way Joker says, "You complete me!" blew the audience away in the truth, irony and sickness of the truth in the statement. I loved this as much as I loved the first installment. Bravo to Bale, Leger, Oldman, Eckhart and Nolan the director.

My contention with action movies is that they generally are all booms and bangs, and the plotline exists only as an excuse. Not the case with TDK, which is the best of both worlds: kick-butt action scenes (the joker is violent, but in a very impressive way cinematically) and an on-going moralistic struggle that rivals the best dramas. It's a story in which there is sometimes no right or wrong, just the better of two evils.
Acting is generally superb in this. I didn't realize that was Gary Oldman until the credits rolled. Christian Bale pulls off the Wayne character with more sincerity than the Batman- I did find it EXTREMELY annoying that as batman he alters his voice to sound like Nicolas Cage in When peggy sue got married. I thought perhaps the oscar discussion around Ledger was postmortem granduerizing, but changed my mind upon viewing. It's hard to pull of evil and anarchy believably, but he embodied these notions to create a truly inhumane villain.
DO NOT TAKE YOUNG KIDS! I would say atleast 10+. I was horrified that the couple sitting next to us brought their 3 year old.

I really enjoyed this film. The only things I had any gripes about were Maggie Gylannhal's performance was ehh, believe it or not Katie Holmes was better. Not that Maggie is a bad actor because she is amazing I just felt she wasn't right for the part. And they spent WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY too much time with Harvey Dent and making him out to be Christ Like that they neglected Batman. Batman is who the movie is about. Harvey Dent though significant to the story could have been told quicker and it would be equally effective. Spoilers ahead. I felt the ending was rushed. Once Joker is defeated we have no idea what happens to him and how Batman knows where to go next I have no idea. One minute he is here the next POOF he is there to save the day without even knowing where to go.
I am probably the biggest fan of Batman in the world and I do feel this was an incredible film that took a huge amount of enough from the Cast, Crew, Director, and anyone else involved. This has to be one of if not the most massive films ever put together. I give praise to those involved and wish I could have been a part of the filmmaking process. Heath Ledger was terrific. He really was. I was probably the biggest skeptic when I first heard he was playing the role, in my mind Hugo Weaving from the matrix seemed like the right fit but now seeing the movie and understanding what they were trying to do he was great. I know Chris Nolan will never recast the Joker and it will end with Heath Ledger as it should. I don't know if he was better than Jack Nicholson, just different and great in his own way. If you are looking to compare the two you are going to be disappointed go in it with a clear head and you will be impressed. He does steal the show.
