I'm a big fan of the original but this one has surpassed it in so many ways! The acting was amazing and the intensity was turned up to the fullest notch. Definitely recommend Dark Knight to anyone who hasn't already seen it!

Phenomenal movie!!!! Going back to see it again today. It is beyond any expectations I could have expected. Heath Ledger will go down in movie history as the best bad guy on the silver screen in many, many years. I highly reccommend it. However it IS NOT for kids under the age of 12 yrs. old.

First of all, for all the stuff you've read or heard or seen about this movie---95% of it is True! Heath Ledger gives a great performance, and might/should get an Oscar Nom. for Best Supp. Actor at the very least. The entire cast is perfect, though Morgan Freeman isn't in the movie as much as I personally would like. The scenes he shows up tho', he does his usual great job at. Great action scenes, most of which were NOT done via Computer (CGI), but done right there, on set (yes, that includes the famous 18-wheeler somersault scene!!), very well shot, beautiful to look at, and def. very close to an R rating---don't bring the Younger kids to this one. I'd say 12-14 and up is sufficient. Aaron Eckhart is great as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, tho' the 2nd part of that doesn't show up til late (for obv. reasons). Can't wait to see this on IMAX later this week!!!

This movie is worth seeing for Heath Ledger's performance alone. Taking out the hype because of his untimely death and it being his last full performance on film, Heath Ledger still steals this movie from everyone else in it. His demonic Joker is frightening and at the same time pulls the same laughs as Jack Nicholson’s Joker. Christian Bale has his moments as sexy, debonair Bruce Wayne, yet his respiration challenged Batman voice gets annoying towards the end. Aaron Eckhart also gives a great performance as Harvey Dent (Two-face) -and if you didn’t know this before you saw the movie, like the people behind me, you can not call yourself a Batman fan, but you will be after seeing this movie. BONUS: any movie with Morgan Freeman is worth seeing; he does the voice of reason and morality like no one else.

The last Batman was great so I was looking forward to seeing this one. The Joker in this movie is very real, loves to kill and loves to torture people. I wont want the dvd and I dont want to see it ever again.

I thought the movie was great. It had less cheesy effects than the first movie and I loved getting to see all the different scenes they filmed in Chicago near where I worked. I think they did a good job at integrating the surreal with the realistic to make it believable.
It makes me very excited to see the next one.

This movie was amazing!! Heath Ledger did such a great job as the joker, oscar nod? I did jump quite a few time but that only made the movie better.
My two only complaints - the movie was a bit long, by 2 hours I was getting annoyed. There were a few false endings that really threw me off.
Also, Christian Bale, please stop your deep Batman voice. Its almost comical and it totally takes away from the movie. Can't Batman afford some kind of cool voice changer?
Overall, GO SEE THE MOVIE...i'm totally going again.

Overall a good movie, however I thought it was a bit lacking in the plot.....lots of action, most action of all the Batman movies in my opinion.
Heath Ledger was outstanding as the Joker...a total opposite than the one played by Jack Nicholson....Heath's was dark and disturbing...it was perfect...I would highly suggest if you liked Batman Begins...

This is typically a movie my husband would love, so we went for our date night to go see it. I really enjoyed Batman Begins and this is in the same vein as that movie. Great story and great acting. Very dark. Heath Ledger is a perfect joker and Christian Bale's batman is fantastic. A must see summer movie!

It will make you laugh, cry, scream, jolt upright, I can not think of any emotion this movie did not make me experience and I am not easily impressed. Christian Bale was out performed very clearly and I hate that Heath is no longer with us he did a wonderful job of getting into character, he WAS the joker. The makeup on Harvey was incredible I hope they get on Oscar nod on that as well outstanding!!!

Seeing this film once...won't be enough to get all the inuendo (is that spelled correctly???) contained in the picture. There are a lot of messages here, "between the lines." This is the way all comic book character films should be directed: Seriously. Enjoy a great time at the movies folks...with this one!

I was sure that everyone's gushing over Ledger's performance as The Joker was just being nice because he died at an early age.
I was wrong! The hype is real, because Ledger's Joker is the real deal.
For any of you that know the real Joker of the comics and graphic novels, you will love Ledger's portrayal.
The movie itself is truly awesome.
I won't spoil anything by reviewing the plot, but I agree with Roeper that this is one of the best comic book movies of all time and rivals movies such as Heat and The Departed.

I don't even like Batman! Took my kids to see the last one at an Imax a few years ago and wasn't thrilled but they wanted to go. Went with my son to see The Dark Knight and have to say IT WAS THE BEST BATMAN movie EVER!!!
