Yeah, it was that good...The action was great...the characters (and not just Ledger) were FANFREAKINTASTIC! If you waste your money on Hellboy 2 and dont go see this movie...I might have to hate you. The idea of selflessness, sacrifice for the ultimate good, and what role anarchy (chance) plays in our lives...are important things every human being should consider...Anyway...Go! It's amazing...

I was not that excited about what I thought would just be a remake of a previous movie. This is no remake. The Dark Knight is a powerful, action packed movie that really focuses on character development. Keith Ledger deserves an Academy Award nomination for his performance as Joker. He gave entirely new insight into what makes the Joker tick. Christian Bale was once again awesome. The entire cast of the movie gave outstanding performances. I walked away very satisfied with every aspect of the movie. The plot has twists and turns that I never saw coming. I thought the screen play was exceptionally thought throuh and well written. Go see it. It is well worth the price of admission.

My son picked this movie, but after seeing it, I think this is the BEST Batman movie yet. There has never been (and unfortunately never will be) a better joker. While the movie is more on the dark side, I would still recommend it.

Though Christian Bale is superb as the tortured Bruce Wayne/Batman, this movie really belonged to Heath Ledger. His take on The Joker was eerie, creepy... and even sympathetic. He's a man who has completely been taken over by this persona, and he's truly lost his identity - he even tells the story of how he got his scars several times, all different.
Loved the special effects, the supporting characters, and the entire storyline was solid from beginning to end. I liked that Harvey Dent made an appearance, but maybe his transformation should have been left for the third installment... It's good to know that Scarecrow will most likely come back, too.

This is the best Batman movie I have seen. The story and the plot was very good. I loved Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker, it was believable and intriguing. I would definitely recommend this movie, even though the movie is long you don't feel it because there isn't a boring scene.

There has of course been the buzz in Hollywood as promotions for The Dark Knight, as well as a montage of excellent critic reviews. Does this all this attention though give The Dark Knight due credit? I got the opportunity this weekend to find out, and I definitely got more than I bargained for. Not only did director Christopher Nolan create a sequel better than the original, he took a solid original and managed to blow it out of the water. Is the movie flawless? No. Is the movie for children under the age of 13? Definitely not. Do I think the Batman universe finally has cinematic justice? Yes. The Dark Knight has set a new bar, one that I hope all hero based movies will be shooting for. Solid, groundbreaking, and quite disturbing, The Dark Knight may possibly be the greatest hero movie I have ever seen.

Unless you're a hardcore Batman comic book fan, I have a feeling that after two hours and twenty minutes you're going to be begging for this movie to end (unless you've already fallen asleep like a few people I spoke with). The first 3/4 of this movie was amazing. Great action, creepy villains, everything that was great about Batman Begins, but even better. Then it kept going, and going and going... Maybe if the script had stopped at the introduction of Two Face and left us hanging it would've made for a much more satisfying experience. But as it was, the filmmakers completely killed whatever they had accomplished in the first 2 hours by introducing a new villain and an extra half hour of tension. Too bad. I was hoping for more, or less...
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This is the second installment in what is proving to be a great new franchise.
The actors are good, the action is great, they dont stay too long on any given problem or subject (dont over play any one character) and have avoided the "everyman" cliche of the heroes. They just are who they are.

This movie is visually stunning, suspenseful, and everything you'd expect from a great Superhero thriller. It does get violent at times, and is definitely darker than the other Batman movies, but it's also much better. Heath Ladger gives what is, unfortunately, the performance of his lifetime. If you're a fan of Batman, superhero movies, or "Batman Begins", you probably don't need to be sold on going to see "The Dark Knight."
If you're looking for a mindless popcorn flick, you'll have to look elsewhere. There is plenty of action and excitement in this film, but what sets it apart from most summer movies is that it has an intelligent and well written story and great acting. The overall experience will stay with you after you leave the theater. Several hours after watching the movie, my wife and I were still discussing things from the movie. We both agree that there is so much to digest in this movie that a second viewing almost feels necessary.
You can read countless reviews about how great Heath Ledger's Joker is, so I won't belabor the point. All of the acting is good, but Ledger definitely shines.
A big word of caution if you're thinking of taking young children to this movie. The Joker is scary, the violence is very realistic and at times brutal, and the story is complex. The movie isn't aimed at young kids, and I might extend that to even 13 and 14 year old kids. I would definitely think twice before taking them. At least see it for yourself first and make your own decision.

The plot has many twists and turns. Just when you think the end of the movie should be close, something else blows up. The joker wasn't joking in this movie, he is definately evil and without rules. Heath ledger's ability to transform himself into the character was an incredible experience to watch. This movie may be too much for the younger kids to see.

What a psychological battle?! This movie was intense and still satisfied all of the senses. Heath Ledger was born to be the Joker; he captured all of the nuances of a villain preying on the human psyche. This was definitely not the Batman from my childhood memories, but the Batman that I can appreciate as an adult. Bravo!
