This movie was excellent. I feel that Heath Ledger gave the performance of his career. It was moving, exciting, dark, and different from any other Batman movie thus far. It was great to see such a different take on the Joker. He was evil but I could not help but laugh at times. I have heard the buzz of an Oscar. It would be a tragedy if he did not win for this performance. He was one of my favorite actors and we have lost a beautifully talented man. It is a must see!

This Batman movie has been one of the best to date. Very realistic and the characters were more real and menacing than any of the previous. Action and story line was very engaging. Health Ledger gave the performance of a lifetime.. (or at least his sorry to say) It doesn't seem long because the story line has you wrapped up in the events on the screen. Definitely deserving of a nomination for characters and actors in this years adaption.

I've seen The Dark Knight 4 times now and I can say it just gets better each time. For a first viewing, you're overtaken by the stunning action sequences and completely engrossed in nothing but the Joker and his perfect insanity. Once you know what's coming the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time around, you can quit holding your breath when someone is in danger or the batpod speeds by, and instead focus on the real meat of the film - the masterful performances. There is no bad here. Director Christopher Nolan chose one of the best ensemble casts to date and no one's performance is lackluster. Scenes like the interrogation of the Joker by Batman will be etched in filmgoers' memories for decades.

Loved it! I live in Chicago so it was fun to see the city transformed - but also, it was a good movie. The characters are great and you really feel for Batman, Dent and everyone else. Great action, little gore, good story.

I was a happy camper after seeing this movie. I was on the edge of my chair the whole time and this a long time considering a 2 hour 40 minutes. Christian Bale and Heath Ledger were the best. Ledger best villian ever. Super awesome on imax! its good anyway though.

There were only certain times that I smiled during the movie: when I recognized the Chicago sites and seeing Morgan Freeman's character at the very end...
Be prepared for the extreme violence...

From the very start of the film you quickly realize that it is very different from any other Batman movie ever. You can just throw away any and all previous incarnations of the Joker whether its Jack Nicholson or Caesar Romero. Heath Ledger is the Joker and he's no longer a clown.
Christopher Nolan has decided to take the Batman saga in yet another direction far different than he did in Batman Begins. If you are expecting a simple continuation of that film prepare yourself for a shock. Although many of the characters are the same and by and large played by the same actors (with the exception of Maggie Gillenhaal taking over Katie Holmes' role of Bruce Wayne's love interest Rachel Dawes), the way they are developed is quite different. This is no longer a simple comic book. Director Nolan has moved the story so as to now focus on the ageless question of whether the ends justify the means. And we discover that the answer is disguised in a maze of smoke and mirrors leaving us guessing.
Much has been said about Heath Ledger in the role of the Joker and I can testify that the Oscar buzz is totally justified. His acting is simply brilliant. As is often said, there is a fine line between genius and madness and Ledger pushes that line like it has never been pushed before. The Joker is as strong a character as is Batman. He conducts a symphony of pure evil and his soloist is none other than the Bat. He uses the Bat as his catalyst to achieve his ends. His strategy is simply brilliant to the point where you must give the devil his due. After seeing this you fully feel the enormity of the loss of Ledger at such an early age.
For those of us who know the Batman story we are caught a bit off guard by the number of intertwining story lines that go on here. At times its breath taking and a little confusing. The directing is excellent as is the acting.
Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are among the very best actors in Hollywood and add a touch of class to their roles. Aaron Eckhart is fine in his role but only reaches his best near the end. But it is Gary Oldman who is able to take a modest role and elevate it to a place few others could have. And although his role might not be as meaty as the Joker, his acting is every bit as good. Like Ledger, he is a true chameleon and becomes whatever the part calls for. Christian Bale has tempered his Bruce Wayne character and ramped up his Batman.
Younger children might have a tough time dealing with the very dark nature of this film even though it is not full of blood and gore.
This is a very good movie. At two and a half hours you'll wish that it could have gone on longer. It will be very hard for Christopher Nolan to top this one.

This is deffinately a summer blockbuster. Lots of action and cool special effects which I was looking forward to. All the previews and hyped failed to mention anything about Two Face and that it's 2 1/2 hours long. When the movie was over I said to myself "What?" I guess I like the Tim Burton 80's Batman better than this series.

Just how great this movie is. Not being a comic book fan, and after seeing the first Batman movies (along with the series growing up as a kid), I just wasn't so sure about Batman Begins. Then it was recommended by a trusted friend. And of course, it was unbelievable. Then - The Dark Knight. Everything I hoped it would be & MORE. I've read some of the reveiws here and they seem to have the wording that escapes me.
Without fail, you must give this movie a chance. But also be forewarned. There's a reason it's rated PG13. There are intense scenes I believe small children would be better off not watching. But from teenager to adult, this movie is one heck of a thrill ride with a great story to tell. A definite must see.

The dark knight was a good movie. Many plot twist and turns but they were well thought out and wonderfully put together. What stood out t he most was Heath Ledger's performence. He literally became the joker. It was amazing because he was really believable as that emotinally disturbed man.

this was a great movie, both ledge and bale played unbelievably. the grapics were great. some parts were a bit corny, but lets not all forget that this is based on a comic book, so not everything makes sense or has to be fully real. id watch this movie again

Superbly done. Special effects and makeup were done with great care to ensure that this was not a kids Batman, but a Batman for the older crowd. Having grown up on Batman from the days of Adam West and reading the comics over the years, this was the movie that captured the darker more realistic side. A true defenitive must see and must have for the movie collection.

When I went to see The Dark Knight I was expecting it to be good but I never expected that it would be phenomenal and it was! The character of The Joker played by Heath Ledger was a performance that won't soon be forgotten by the public and Hollywood alike. He gave a true portrayal of madness that has not been in seen in characters of the past and I am not sure will be matched by any characters in the future. This movie shows the true good vs. evil and the belief of all good in the world. It is a must see!

Some people may think that this is the best movie ever, I do not think so. I am not saying that this was a bad movie but it is just not the best movie ever. Heath Ledger give a stunning performance of the Joker. Christian Bale makes the best Bat Man. Michael Caine was my favorite Character. He does not have that many lines but the lines that he does say give the viewer so much about the world of Gotham, or Bat Man, so pay very close attention to him. Aaron Eckhart also does a great job, he plays both the DA and when he turns crazy. Great Movie but don't get to big of a drink, its on the loger side 2:30.
