I loved the movie. I wish the opening had not been quite so "bouncy", but after that I loved the film. The story line connected so well with the original series. The voices and even body mannerisms were great. I don'[t usually watch movies again, but I am thinking about going back for this one for another viewing.

For us baby-boomers who grew up scheduling classes around Star Trek every afternoon, this movie was bedrock gratification. Even though the characters were pre-series portrayed, their quirks and foibles were true and recognizable. The action, action, action was not unpalatable, either ;-) Back stories were plausible and the presentation was captivating. Good show!

It's really a challenge to recreate something as well-loved as ST:TOS, and this team NAILED IT!! The characterizations are true to the original, casting is perfect, screenplay wonderful (and clearly set up for the sequel), and the film is visually exciting and sleek.
Thanks to all of them for making Star Trek, revitalized and exciting, for not only us old Trekkers, but for a whole new generation!!

I have been a Star Trek fan for as long as I can remember. I was skeptical at first as to how they would incorporate the time line into the rest of the production. I came away from the movie with the renewed appreciation that someone was able to continue to carry on the legacy of Gene Roddenberry. Great job everyone, and in the words of Siskel & Ebert........"Two Thumbs.....WAY UP!!"

After a seven year wait, this Star Trek is a satisfying blend of storyline and characters. The only downers were the costume design, which leaves something to be desired, and the appearance of Tyler Perry as a Starfleet Admiral. I kept expecting him to turn into Madea! If you like anything Trekkie, don't miss this one.

I thought the new actors did a wonderful job making the characters from the original series their own. As a long time fan of Star Trek, having watched it when it first came out in the sixties, I did not miss the old cast at all. In addition, it is a good story line with a lot of great action.

Karl Urban and Zachary Quinto are spot on as McCoy and Spock. This movie is like a trip down memory lane from beginning to end. You'll want to see it over and over again. :)

A clever balance between catering to long-time fans and people new to the series. Also a stellar cast, much suspense...a wild ride with depth to boot. None of my friends like sci-fi and every single one of them has loved it!

I watched the original in color for the first
time as a young boy. I can truly say that
any one young or old will enjoy this movie.
the casting is excellent. The effects by
George Lucas Company are mind blowing.
The story wraps around the beginning episodes through Nemesis.
This will kick start the Trek Experience
all over again.

Saw it last night and need to see it more and more! This movie crew really did their homework. It was awesome to hear the "original" phrases used in the original series, the mannerisms of the characters like the original, the humor and everything else that I recognized from the original series. And to see Leonard Nemoy return as Spock was the icing on the cake. IT was non stop action, humor, surprises and nostalgia! Definitely a keeper! If there were more stars I would rate it a 20!

I suppose this movie will disappoint many hardcore star trek fans but this is by far the best movie they've done since the Wrath of Kahn.
I appreciate the care taken by JJ Abrams to make this an addition to the star trek series instead of an actual remake. In short, if you aren't a trek fan, go see it cause it's still an excellent movie. If you are a trek fan, you might hate it since it has an altogether a different style and feel, but hopefully, it will give you new reason to love the startrek universe.

This was a genius take on the beloved icon. If you are a long time tried and true fan you will love it because the casting is brilliant and therefore you can really see the "young" versions of the "old characters". If you are brand new to the Trek you can still get completely wrapped up in the story because you don't have to have the history to understand the plot. Fabulous action scenes. Something for everyone!

A convoluted plot makes action totally incredible; Spok senior would have interceded immediately since he has been banished close to a friendly Federation outpost!
Eric Bana delivers the most powerful performance but his fellow antagonists have no delineation whatsoever. Knowing that the good guys will win half-way through the movie undermines all the threat and tension; the movie falls apart and does not sustain interest.

I was really not big fan of Star trek, but i went to see it with my girlfriend and was totaly surprised at how good the move was. One minute into the movie and you are jumping off your seat with all the action and drama. Great movie!!

I never watched Star Trek nor have I seen the movies. I am not a huge action movie fan either. That being said, I can tell you I LOVED this movie. The script is sharp and witty and the action sequences do not contain too much violence. It had heart.

I'm not a big Star Trek fan but my husband is, so I went because he had been wanting to see it so bad. I'll say I was not disappointed. Was very good from beginning to end. What I like about it is it had a story to it. The movie wasn't all special effects, which those were great, but I like a movie to have a story and this delivered big time.
