LOVE THAT CAT!!!! And Kitty Softpaws is a perfect partner for him! When is the sequel coming out? I'm looking forward to the further adventures of Puss & Kitty!

Bring on Pirates #4

This was a worthy entry in the Disney "Pirates" franchise. Penelope Cruz was adequate filling the hole left by Keira Knightley, but not a smash. The token moralist preacher was a very weak nod to Will Turner & left a significant gap in the ensemble. Ian McShane's Blackbeard and Kevin McNally's Gibbs are wonderful characters. The real fun in this film, though, is the interplay between CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow and his frenemy Barbossa. The choreography is outstanding.
To be honest, the only thing I didn't really care for was the 3D! It was more a distraction than an enhancement in my opinion. Disney would be well-advised to stick to the excellent writing and characterization that make these films so much fun & forget the high-tech gimmicks. Just because everybody else is doing it doesn't make it a great idea for every project.
That being said, I'm on board for another Pirates film if Johhny Depp & Geoffrey Rush are up for it! Would love to see Will Turner back, though.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Fun family outing

This film is completely acceptable for older children. The younger may be frightened by some of the action scenes, so caution should be used with sensitive little ones. Older children, however, will enjoy it. Unfortunately, the message of Goethe's poem about not calling upon helpers you cannot control is largely lost here. Instead Liebe über alles is the theme instead. It's nevertheless a VERY entertaining film. I'll be getting a copy for my library for when my grandchildren visit.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It's really a challenge to recreate something as well-loved as ST:TOS, and this team NAILED IT!! The characterizations are true to the original, casting is perfect, screenplay wonderful (and clearly set up for the sequel), and the film is visually exciting and sleek.
Thanks to all of them for making Star Trek, revitalized and exciting, for not only us old Trekkers, but for a whole new generation!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
