As a fan of the HULK since of the age of 3 years old watching the show on CBS on Friday nights this movie really went back to it's roots. The Ed Norton from one of my FAVORITES FIGHT CLUB did a very good job of playing Bruce Banner. The certain scenes where he was sitting at home alone meditating and the once especailly when he was walking down the road in the rain really brought back memories of the classic TV show. THE ACTION SCENE was AWESOME. This movie definitely was 10X better than the first. MARVEL should burn all copies of ERIC BANA dry acting a** version. For those who seen IRON MAN would be in for a treat. THE HULK is INCREDIBLE. WHEN IT COMING TO DVD. WHEN IS THE CAPTAIN and THOR COMING OUT!!!!!

Let me first start off by saying that I never saw the 2003 Hulk, and from what I've heard, this is a good thing. Well, being a bit of a comic book fan, I must say that the 2008 Incredible Hulk delivers in several different ways. The cast was pretty much impeccable. Norton as Banner fits like a glove, Liv Tyler is a seriously convincing actress, and Tim Roth and William Hurt make for a good menacing team. Also, Tim Blake Nelson, the awesome talent that he is provides much needed chuckles without any of the cheese, if you know what I mean. Direction and script are great. I can't think of any moments where I cringed at a line of dialogue or wanted to get behind the camera myself. The plot and progression of the movie were made clear. Special effects are pretty darn good, and from what I hear a billion times better than the 2003 movie. Personally, I don't care if special effects aren't perfect just as long as they're not bad enough to distract me from the plot. Depiction of the Hulk and Abomination are in short, awesome. You definitely get the sense that Hulk is indestructible but that he also has a soul. And while Abomination's appearance strays just a bit from comic book art, there's no denying that he looks pretty rad. Oh, did I mention that I love the Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) cameo? There's some great and exciting foreshadowing going on in these Marvel flicks. My only slight discrepancy is that I longed for a bit more Bruce Banner scenes. The movie is short enough to where it wouldn't be much of a bother to squeeze in a few more biographical and personal moments. And I'm almost sure there's a few of those on the cutting room floor. But there's enough there that it doesn't take away from the experience. In short, go see this movie and put your possible nightmares of the previous try to rest. I'll see it again and will probably buy it when it comes out on DVD. Now we can only hope that they remake Spider-man 3. *::gets down on knees and prays::*

I was very worried when I heard that there was a new Hulk movie being made, the last film was terrible. This film does a good job trying to relaunch the franchise (as well as being a missing piece for the Avengers project). Ed Norton is terrific as Bruce Banner. The effects are good, the plot is ...well, it is the Hulk so it's about what you expect, nothing earth shattering or new. Did like the tribute/shout out to both Bill Bixby & Lou Ferrigno (classy move by movie directors). This won't be the best of the summer movie flicks, it won't be the worst either.

The negative reviews that I have read on this site really are way off. This movie is pure entertainment. It is funny. The visuals and sounds are intense. Ed Norton is a fantastic actor as Dr. Banner. No, it does not have some of the depth of Spiderman or the more recent Batman(s) with C. Bale, but the character of the Hulk has never really been about that, from my read of the comics. It is also great to see Marvel finally doing some tie ins together with the movies, perhaps to set the stage for the Avengers(?) or, maybe even the Secret Wars! I think any fan of comics and Marvel will enjoy this film. Don't expect Citizen Kane, just be ready to go on a thrill ride.

My son and I loved this movie, the graphics were great. The only thing is the very tip end of the movie you would not understand if you havent seen Ironman but thats not enough to make you not want to go see it if you havent seen Ironman yet.

I thought this movie was MUCH better than the original Hulk movie. This one was much truer to the tv series. It was funny, and action packed. There were some great cameos and I loved the fight scene between the Hulk and the Abomination. I would recommend this movie to anyone!

If you go to see The Hulk because you believe it wll win the Best Picture Oscar, you're silly. If you go because it has a great cast, great special effects and is one of those movies better on the big screen than the home screen, you'll have a nice time. We love the Oscar movies, but, we love a good block buster too and The Hulk delivered.

In a word: INCREDIBLE!!! I have been a HUGE fan of the Hulk, since childhood- the tv show was my favorite back then(and I'm young). I thought the first movie was interesting in an artistic way(the comic book fade-outs, etc), but after seeing the new one last night, I have to say there is NO comparison!!! The Hulk looked amazing- very much like the comic books, his anger was more realistic for his character, and the scenes with him were just gripping! Edward Norton does a great job, but does this really come as a shock???!!! I definitely recommend this movie to all die-hard Hulk fans. You won't be disappointed!!! The ending was pretty cool, and leaves a nice opening for some interesting ideas in the future... :)

Had watched the tv series somewhat in the 80's. Ed Norton is very believable as Bruce Banner . Liv Tyler was fantastic as the role of Bruce Banner's girlfriend. A little violent for my taste at times but the storyline is good. Kept me interested the entire time . Would not recommend bringing small children.

This movie was incredibly entertaining. In any super hero movie, the key to the lead's success invariably lies in how well he plays the alter ego, the human side of the character, and Edward norton plays Bruce Banner exceedingly well. The eternal struggle to control our inner demons, balanced with the hopes of transcending the violence and hatred in the modern world... he sells you on it. The action was was great, with some eye popping special effects and dynamic storytelling. William Hurt performed admirably as the father torn between duty and family. The countdown clock of Days Without Incident was a very nice touch.
There are even nods to the original television series, some obvious (Lou Ferigno) some not obvious to the casual observer (the theme song making a mid movie appearance, the opening scene incorporating elements of the TV's opening). And above all else, the final scene makes a dramatic move not often seen in any other movies.
This movie cannot help but draw comparisons to Ang Lee's Hulk, and it might not be fair to both movies. In this day and age, people have such short attention spans that they feel the need to have lock solid continuity, and they can't understand that two movies that happen to star the same characters MIGHT just be two different tellings of the tale. This is NOT a sequel, and the only connection it has to Ang Lee's Hulk are three characters.

I did see the first Hulk movie and I loved it where many it seemed didn't.
I though Eric Bana did a great job in that first film (2003) and then, of course, you had Jennifer Connelly whose piercing intelligence and beauty have resonated from many great films, like The Rocketeer, A Beautiful Mind, Blood Diamond and the upcoming The Day the Earth Stood Still (remake). I also really liked the portrayal of Sam Elliot as the father to Connelly in the first. I believe its the odd format of style in which the first movie was presented which caused most of the dislike for the fans...but don't get me wrong, is was a very good movie. I also think Sam Elliot did a better job than William Hurt as a father figure in the impossible situation that his responsibilities put him in in respect to his relationship to his daughter.
Having said all that, the new movie did very well...when I heard that Edward Norton was going to play the role of Dr. Banner, as excellent an actor as he is (i.e. Fight Club, The Italian Job), I wasn't so sure he could pull it off...though I have to admit it was because of his VERY skinny build that I couldn't fathom him making it look real. But lets face it, The Hulk was a product of experimental manipulation gone wrong, so you could have started with the Geico gecko and still ended up with the Hulk in the aftermath.
Ed Norton, as always, came through with an excellent performance well worth watching.
Liv Tylor, the replacement for Jennifer Connelly in this second installment of the Hulk, did very well. But its impossible to replace Jennifer Connelly in anything (personal bias). Still, Liv Tylor did a wonderful job as the love interest and she is an excellent actor (i.e. Armageddon, The Lord of the Rings) and did bring to the screen her commitment to Banner no matter what!
I am a particular fan of William Hurt (Body Heat, Altered States, The Big Chill, Kiss of the Spider Woman), but I was not a fan of the portrayal, or replacement, of Sam Elliot in this role. I had thought many of the conflicts were resolved in the first movie between him and his daughter where that history seemed to not even have been present in this.
But that's Hollywood...remaking itself each and every day.
Bottom line, all the performances were great and believable and this Hulk had more of a grittiness to it than the first. Luckily they didn't change him too much from the first or I believe they would have lost their continuity.
I do have to say though...if I'd had the choice of going back to the USA and Liv Tyler over the brazilian beauty Débora Nascimento, who had the hots for Banner in Brazil in the film as Martina...well...
Special effects are by Industrial Light & Magic among others, so we really do not need to say more in that area.
A fun movie to watch with a firm applause by the audience in the end...I recommend everyone see it for a fun weekend treat!

I found that the newest installment of the Incredible Hulk went very far to repair and re-dignify the Hulk in his original glory. With updated CG, the textures appeared to be more to the color and tone you would see in real life, and not the “neon” green we were forced to suffer in the first film. I also found the director and script worked to restore the story to the original comic book story line, but again it is Hollywood and things will never be the same. With that, I felt like you could feel the rage within Hulk on screen this time, as his CG hulk form felt much more "human" like, and allowed some form of connection. This film is also just one piece out of a puzzle that Marvel has yet to formally announce, and adds to the suspense of a possible Avengers movie. I highly recommend fans to see it.

I grew up on the original tv series with Bill Bixby. I loved the premise of the show then and now, with all the special effects, it was even better. Ed Norton's Banner is an unassuming, gentle character. Of course, his alter ego is CGI but nonetheless charming in his own way. There is plenty of action, humor ,and just enough romance to whet all moviegoers' appetites. There are some cameos that prove to be interesting, too. Don't wait for the DVD. Go now!!!

I took my son to the Hulk yesterday. I was a little apprehensive as I saw the last Hulk movie and was horribly disappointed. First I like that the movie stayed truer to it's original Hulk series beginnings in the beginning I felt as though I was watching the old series which I loved. The only weak point of the movie was the General, he was not played well. All the other characters were well developed and interesting to watch. Mr Norton did a fantastic job of Dr Banning. Perfect choice. All in all me and my son had a great time and enjoyed it immensely. So now the question is is going to be a Hulk v. Ironman movie, I certainly hope so.

While the Ang Lee version was more cerebral and had characters that had multiple layers and emotional issues, this one is pretty much all action. I'm one of the rare persons who liked the 2003 movie. This movie was good. it was a fun action movie made up of a series of chases. You don't need to think to like this movie. it's just action ontop of big action. The fight scenes were a bit graphic. i wouldn't recommend to young viewers. The CGI was done VERY well. The Hulk and the Abomination's animation were very nicely done. the visual style was very reminiscent of Iron Man too. go see this movie! it's great summer movie watching. just don't expect to see an involving story of deep characters. this is purely, "HULK SMASH!"

Although I never thought the first movie was as bad as some say it is, it wasn't what it should have been. Hulk dogs? Well they got this one right and then some! Great special effects, really good story and the acting is top notch. I've always been a fan of Edward Norton and he nailed it as Dr. Banner. I would highly recommend this one! I actually took my Mom and Dad to it and they both thought it was great!

This movie had excellent graphics and the acting was strong for a comic-book-come-to-life. It followed the story and left out the initial event with the proibable understanding that the audience has seen a previous movie and/or series. It was less than 2 hours and the audience did not get restless. It was an enjoyable experience and the end left the audience wanting more.

Well, unlike 98% of the other reviewers I happened to like the first Hulk. It didn't blow me away but was more of a story-driven film, and to me it was fine. This one was better though, I disagree with some that it had too much story. I mean if people want to see the Hulk just run around for 2 hrs and break things then I would suggest they play the game. It's just funny to me how people complain about everything. The same people that said there was too much story are the same people who would have been saying there was no story, and it was just a CGI character running around, and smashing things if they'd have made it that way. Point being? You can't please everyone. I thought this movie had just enough of everything; great action, great acting, and the story was done well. Overall? Great movie! Go see it right now.

now this is a hulk movie. it may be a little too intense for the little ones but it was great. the metamorphoses is great. the action is wonderful. the humor is seldom over the top so it is entertaining. i was on the edge of my seat for a goodly portion of the fight scenes. im glad i saw this movie.

THE HULK USES (WHAT I CALL A ) CLASSIC MOVE TO SAVE HIS LONG LOVE IN A BATTLE SCENE ( THE CROWD WAS CHEERING AT THAT ONE) AND THERE WAS A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF HULK INSTEAD OF BANNER TRYING TO CONTROL THE HULK AND TRYING TO KEEP HIM DOWN. The movie was ok. However, I think it's more geared for adults. When the movie comes out and all of the toys come along with it in the stores then the kids really want to go see it. But for smaller kids I don't think it holds their interest. Until the end there was very little "hulk action". I still like the series on TV where the hulk always saves the day.

I have seen this movie twice and it was even better the second time around. It puts the first movie to shame. The movie was well acted throughout. Edward Norton did an outstanding job as Bruce Banner. You could feel Liv Tyler's love for Banner pop off the screen and Tim Roth & Tim Blake were amazing in their respective roles. It paid homage to the original TV series & had the right blend of action and character development. As a comic book fan, this was great translation of the book. Even my 5 year old daughter enjoyed the movie and was able to follow the story. You really can't compare it to IRONMAN because they are two very different films. Bottom Line....HULK SMASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
