I can't believe how terrific this movie was. I went in expecting very little, and saw what will surely be one of the great films of 2008. The final showdown between the hero and villain was pretty bland, but that was the one flaw in an otherwise thrilling, moving, gorgeously acted and often quite funny picture. Downey is a genius and for the first time, Paltrow showed me that she can do comedy and have romantic chemistry with a fellow actor. I plan to see this movie again as soon as I can.

A well thought out movie and conversion of the comic. I left you wanting more action after every scene. The characters were relativily well acted especially Robert Downy Jr. who played the anti-hero tony stark very well. Cgi and graphics were spot on as well with eye pleasing action scenes and even just staring at the Iron man suit itself was enough to make you drool. I recommend this movie to the comic book lovers and people who like to see action, with a bit of drama in between.
Also on a side note, if you're a comic book fan stay until after the credits there's alittle surprise.

I did not have any interest in seeing this movie, but grudgingly accompanied my boyfriend to opening night. I am so glad I saw this movie! Robert Downey Jr. is phenominal (as usual), the graphics are spectacular, the dialogue is funny/ witty, and nothing was remotly cheesey (a common downfall of comic-book movies). Do yourself a favor and go see this wonderful, action-packed, amusing adventure of a movie!

Being over 40 didn't matter one bit to me during this homage that fans of the comic book will appreciate! plot was very well crafted; stayed pretty true to the real thing while also being technologically current.... i absolutely loved it--can't wait now for IM2

Very well done. As with X-Men, this film shows that directors who usually do comedy or drama can handle action and make the sequences exciting and fresh. Robert Downey Jr. is excellent in this film.

I loved this movie. I took my sons (10 and 12) because they had been so excited to see it. I had no idea that I would end up loving it as much as they did (well almost). The effects and the acting were phenomenal. Can't wait for the sequel..there's gotta be a sequel right?

I just saw Iron Man the other day and let me tell you. It was awesome. Anyone who watches it should stay until after the credits to see the surprise scene. Anyway, Robert Downey Jr. plays an excellent Tony Stark. The story was pretty good and the movie seems to go by fairly quickly. You won't even seem to notice it's 2 hours or more long. The action scenes are top notch and the comedy is pretty constant. Watch this movie because it really is good!

Make sure you get there early! I was fortunate to get seats with my friends and I 45 minutes before the movie started. The special effects and action was awesome! I had goosebumps from some scenes, I wished it were 3-D so I can feel like I was there...You have got to wait and sit in for the credits after the movie finishes, you'll be surprised!

I have always been a Marvel Comic fan. I think this was one of the best movies made from a Marvel Comic. Robert Downey Jr. was much better than I had expected him to be. Can't wait for the next one.

So far I have to say that this movie highly out performs many of the other Marvel movies out to date! The trailers were enough to go watch even if you aren't an Iron Man fan. I can honestly say that this story was told in a highly compelling and fantastic way; from every angle and around every turn! Characters were perfectly portrayed by their respectful actors and the effects were phenomenal. There was a very nice balance to the use of 3-D special effects and when they were used they were awesome!

I am not a reader of the comic but this movie is a great stand alone, strong and well done story. You get a detailed look into the recreation or awakening of Starks hero persona. The action is some great icing on the cake.

This is a wonderful adaptation of the Invincible Iron Man! Where other comic adaptations have failed, Favreau managed to modernize Stark's back-story and create a very charismatic super hero! Virtually NO slow spots or strained emotional scenes which have cluttered other recent super-hero flicks. This is one fast-past, humorous, action-packed, and FUN thrill-ride! Robert Downey Jr. was incredible!

My wife and I saw Iron Man last night and were very surprised at how good it turned out to be. We both love super hero type movies and were afraid they wouldn't do Iron Man justice...we were wrong. Storyline, casting, balance of comedy and action, touch of romance(my wife made me write that), and overall entertainment value made this an outstanding flick that I definitely recommend viewing in the theatre. Be sure to stay through the credits for a small sneak peak of what may come.

This movie was amazing... great casting choices and amazing storyline. This may be a comic book movie, but the beginning of the movie is a shocking reminder of what our brave men and women overseas face everyday. The best part was seeing the terrorists get what's coming to them when Tony unleashes his Iron Man creation.
The movie was 2 hours long, but it didn't seem like it was... it went really fast. Kids (need to be 10+ I'd think) may get a little bored at the beginning, but halfway through the movie to the end, they'll love it.
Great movie and I would highly recommend everyone see it whether you're a comic book fan or not. I am going again as soon as possible!

At first I was not excited to see this movie at all. That was before I realized it was directed by Jon Favreau. You can't go wrong with the director of "Elf". Before seeing the movie, I had no idea who Iron Man was or where he came from, (I'm not a comic book fan). However, this movie was a great introduction to the character, and I'm now a fan. I'll be looking foward to a sequel. By the way, the last line in the movie is awesome. It's what sets Iron Man apart from other super heroes like Superman or Batman.
Overall a great movie. I recommend you go see it!
