As far as comic book movies go, this is already one of my favorites. The performances given by the whole cast, especially Downey Jr., is simply incredible and the action sequences are fantastic. I would suggest this movie to anybody that loves to be entertained at theaters.

This one is a hit. It combines action, a well written plot, and a good main character for a good evening of entertainment.
Not once did I hear a swear word! Amazing! There was violence, yes, but not self-serving I think.
In the sequels, I'd like to see further character development of supporting characters.
Great family movie. Nothing awkward to have to explain to younger kids, but plot is advanced enough for grown-ups.
The audience actually applauded! Worth the money.

I noticed there was not much hype for this movie, at least in my area, so I wasn't to sure what to expect. I was very entertained and happy that I went to go see this movie. Maybe they were hoping word of mouth would get people in to see it, so if you are one of those people who are not to sure like I was go see this movie you will be very pleased.

Producers will be hard met topping "IRONMAN" this year. This is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen! There was not one dull moment, not one bad line, not one scene where I thought to myself, "stupid."
I am going to have to see this movie again because I cannot believe how absolutely fantastic it was.

While I wouldn't say this movie deserves any Academy Awards, it was definately a well-made, well-delivered action movie. With a worthwhile story, characters you genuinely like (or dislike), and high production values, this movie definately kept me entertained from start to finish. In the realm of recent comic book based films, I would put this one on the level of Batman Begins or Spider-man, as opposed to Daredevil or Fantastic Four.

Great plot, just enough comedy to make it good with out becoming corny, and Robert Downey Jr as Ironman was right on target.
One of the few movies that will be part of my collection when it goes on the market.
It is a must see if you like scifi or fantasy.

My husband and I saw this last night at a theatre in Kahalu'u, Hi. It was packed. We consider ourselves fortunate to have gotten tickets, even tho I purchased them online, all the theaters in our area were sold out. We almost always choose action movies, and we chose this one because of the reviews--all positive. The 2 hour length was more like an hour ; we were so absorbed in the action and especially in the high-tech jargon that we never went for popcorn or bathroom, nor did anyone else ; everyone was immersed in this movie. Robert Downey Jr. is the perfect guy for this part. I hope they make a sequel, and soon!! Please go see this movie, you won't be disappointed! PS-The Suit is fantastic!

One of the better comic adaptations I have seen, Iron Man translates very well to the big screen. The origin story updatted nicely and characters were captured well. Downy is the perfect Tony Stark. The action and visuals were entertaining and the war backdrop gave it some depth. It exceeded my expectations.

Ironman is, by far, the best film adaptation of a Marvel comic to date! The cast is great and they do an excellent job of making the film feel like a film rather than a motion-picture comic book like many of the other Marvel-to-silver screen releases. As for the rest of the film, I think Kip Dynamite's song lyrics from the film Napoleon Dynamite say it best, "I love technology..."

I was a comic kid, but not a collector. I read them at summer camp and when my buddies got new ones, we would poor through them till they were ratty, then go play whiffle ball...
This movie is like that, I'd love to go see it all over again. I was entertained from the moment the movie got rolling, till after the credits were done (don't forget to sit through ALL the credits, there's a short little treat at the end)
Robert Downey Jr, Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow and the supporting cast pulled off great performances.
John Favreau (who I've always enjoyed) did a fantastic job directing and injecting himself in for a few humorous moments as well.
The special effects did not control the movie. They didn't overshadow the plot, the acting, or the cinematography. They added just the right touch.
We took our teenage son, and we all enjoyed it. Everyone in the theater clapped and cheered, and walked out smiling.
I couldn't recommend this movie enough.

Being a hardcore Spider-Man fan since I was about 3... I never thought anything dealing with Iron Man could make me love that metal head just as much. This movie blows all 3 Spider-Man movies out of the water. The actors are far superior, with clever wit and more adult motivations/situations.
Robert Downey Jr. has proven himself... the suit was phenomenal and the bit after the credits is something any fan of Marvel Comics will applaud.
Watch this movie... you deserve it.

I have been patiently waiting for another comic book movie to come out. After the let down of both Emo-Man (Spiderman 3) and the Jellybean Eating Rider (Ghost Rider) I was beginning to become a bit concerned on the quality of the Marvel films. The only joy I had is knowing Nick Cage was no where to be found in this film.
The movie itself is fantastic. I’ve never really been a big fan of Iron Man however always thought he looked cool. Of course most of my memories of Iron Man consist of the cartoon and that punk in Marvel Capcom 2. Proton cannon anyone?
I had a basic understanding of the character and is more or less batman with a robot suit and of course with a touch of Marvel. I was pleasantly surprised by all the actors. There wasn’t many of those lines that just made you say eew. Tony Stark is portrayed perfectly and really made the character fun. The funniest thing is halfway through the film, I realized Starks CEO guy was the Dude. (A Big Lebowski reference) Which of course made the film that much more fun.
Graphically one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. The suit is spot on. I am a little worried after seeing what had been done to poor Optimus Prime. The suit is totally believable down to the little details including Tony Stark actually getting into the armor. One of the things I am most impressed with is watching the armor actually get banged up. Various scenes of Iron Man fighting you would see the scars and dents that he would make on the suit itself. The flight scenes are also great. There is a great depth put into to it. It never seemed too fake or unrealistic. You actually kind of got that thrill out of watching him fly and kind of reminded me of that thrill you got when you saw the Rocketeer for the first time as a kid.
The sound quality is also excellent. I thought there was a nice amount of sound and never to loud where it distracted from the overall scene. The Iron Man song is only used at the ending credits which made me really happy. The score itself was gorgeous and really added to the movie. The best thing is, it seemed they have put a lot of detail into the soundtrack to where you didn’t realize “I’m watching a comic book movie”.
Overall the film is totally worth seeing in theaters which says a lot considering the current price for tickets. The previews are also pretty cool; there was one for Spirit and a great Dark Knight trailer. Oh and I forgot to mention a rad Indiana Jones trailer! I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a Hulk trailer however I hear some theaters do have one. Just a heads up stay till after the credits are down there is a nice little extra at the end. Which leaves you with a nice holy s**t?

Spiderman, Batman, Superman... These are all great examples of how comic books and superheroes can translate wonderfully to film in the right hands. Iron Man is the best incarnation of this yet!
Iron Man was funny, smart and riveting - Robert Downey Jr. is perfectly cast, and Jeff Bridges makes an excellent villain. I really enjoyed this movie and I hope they make a sequel.

Saw Iron Man last night (Saturday) and was very impressed! Excellent movie. I thought Robert Downey Jr. was a brave casting move and it turned out to be exactly so! He is great as Tony Stark - Iron Man. I thought as far as origin stories go -- this was handled very well -- the character development was excellent -- and Jeff Bridges was a good villian and Gwyneth Paltrow was smokin hot and had really good chemistry with Robert Downey Jr. I expected a lot from this movie from seeing the trailers -- and it was even better than I hoped. I would give it 4 1/2 stars.

Wow, I definitely agree with another review...hands down the best comic book adapation for film made since Spider Man 1.
Maybe even better!
Downey, Jr. was just perfect as Mr. Stark. Not wimpy, which was key, and still has the acting talent to convey emotion within the character.
A must see for fans of the comic, and a must buy on DVD for me!!

The flaws of Downey Jr. are the same as the ones of the character. Downey portraits an egotistic and womanizing genius that is charming and appealing. Very well adapted to the comic and fitted to today's idea of a super-hero. Definitely not for kids.
