I enjoyed the movie very much. The sets and character design were excellent(as expected from Tim Burton). Johnny Depp was good as usual and Helena Bonham Carter was wonderful. They did a decent job of incorporating all the elements from the original story without being redundant.
This is a good movie. there is action and comedy and a great cast. It is enjoyable and I would recomend it, but when you compare it to the first three movies it falls short. It lacks the magic and epic feel of the originals. It is not very memorable and does not have the classic moments. I am not real happy with where they go with the characters and do not see the Shia LaBeouf character as a good canidate to pass the torch to. LaBeouf is good but the character, though he has the adittude and adventurer aspect, lacks the knowledge of an Indiana.
One of the better comic adaptations I have seen, Iron Man translates very well to the big screen. The origin story updatted nicely and characters were captured well. Downy is the perfect Tony Stark. The action and visuals were entertaining and the war backdrop gave it some depth. It exceeded my expectations.
