Despite all of the good things that people say about this movie, this is still very shallow movie that was only made for entertaining. Yes it was made to entertain people but how is this different from other similar movies, Spider Man, Fantastic Four and others...

When I first saw the trailer for Iron Man, my gut reaction was, oh that looks terrible. Robert Downey Jr as a superhero? No way. But, after a month of decent and sometimes great reviews, against my better judgement, I went to see it. Boy, I hate to be right. Out of all the Marvel superhero movies, this one ranks one step above Dare Devil... and thats not saying much.

This movie is one of the best comic book movies ever made. The robots did not look CGI at all, even the flying scenes looked real. Excellent casting, a very well done movie all around. Bravo!

My wife said it was my turn to pick tonight, & man...did I pick a great one! Robrt Downey Jr. & Gweneth Paltrow seem to have a long lost art in movies today..." character chemistry". They were great together, both funny & respectful of eachother. You could tell from the start they have found something that works..That aside, the movie was Great! It had a little bit of everything,guys & gals both enjoy watching together!

We enjoyed this movie. Loved many of the characters. Actors did a GREAT job. I loved Paltrow's role.
It portrays the military pretty badly which is really too bad. Hopefully most watchers would pick up on the fact that the real problem was the selling of weapons 'under the table' by some very unethical people in control of the business.
Special effects are GREAT!

Well...I've seen this movie four times already, two of those times being yesterday. And...To be totally honest, Iron Man is the best movie I have ever seen. I mean, if it wasn't would I have seen it four times, of my own accord?! No. Probably not.
The acting is good, the CGI stuff is awesome, and it's all super awesome! So....Yup.

A twist and a surprise. I'm not referring to the plot of Iron Man, but rather to it's star, Robert Downey, Jr. The concept of Downey, Jr. in any sort of propagandistic role seems in no way right. However, this role, with it's strong ante hero overtones is a perfect fit. Downey's character Tony Stark/Iron Man, is full of wit, one liners and comebacks. The delivery of this type of dialog is essential to the feel and pace of a film and it has been perfected here. Tony's demeanor is balanced out superbly by the chemistry between Tony and his ever loyal assistant Pepper Potts (Gweneth Paltrow). These two manage meaningful back and forth with obvious attraction without unnerving tension or innuendo.
The other big attraction to this movie is the effects. This movie recovers the long lost art of effects enhancing a movie, instead of ruining it. The SFX in Iron Man blends seamlessly with the charters and plot. It is almost as if the effect are part of the actors, rather than a charter of their own attempting to upstage the best Hollywood has to offer.
Over all the best movie I have seen in a really long time. I'm going to see it again. I highly recommend everyone else do the same.

Iron Man- Even my daughter liked it!

My 10-year-old daughter didn't want to go see Iron Man with the rest of our family, thinking it would be another totally boy-oriented comic book movie that wouldn't meet her interest. However, when we went to see it, she loved it so much that she asked to see it again on her 11th birthday! Given that her usual style is High School Musical and Enchanted, it speaks highly for the movie that it reached someone who clearly wasn't in its expected target audience. It had great characterization and acting and spectacular effects. It is the first comic book movie I would give an A+.

I loved the movie. Of course I am a guy and pushing 50. The first half has some timely and scary violence that may be troubling for kids under 15. Probably comes with the liberalization of the PG-13 rating. 2nd half was more fantasy fun and violence. Great movie. Think twice about younger kids.

It was better than I was expecting it to be. This rendition of Iron man takes a complete removal from the comic book and really makes it work.
The effects are excellent and lack the cheese of a lot of recent CGI flicks.
Suspend disbelief, sit down and enjoy. Be prepared to laugh as well. This is one of the best " escape" movies I have seen in a long time.

The movie really had great effects. It is worth knowing that the first 1/2 hour deals with some pretty heavy subject matter. (kidnapping, terrorists, etc...) Was told by a friend that it would be suitable for my 7 year old to see. It really wasn't. This is one of those PG-13 where the rating is absolutely correct. If you're thinking of taking little kids, I'd wait and buy/rent it on DVD so you can fast forward through some of the more intense scenes.

No disappointment in this movie! Ever since I heard Robert Downey Jr. was staring in the role last year I have been counting the days until the theater release. I usually NEVER say this about a movie but I would actually pay to see it again. As expected, Downey did a fantastic job in this film. Of course he's great in ANY movie he's in. Wasn't sure what to expect from Bridges playing a villain but he too did a convincing great job with his character. Sort of disappointed that Paltrow's seemed a little whimpy. Would have liked to see her character a littel stronger. Effects were fantastic and not too much over-kill. My two daughters 16 & 14 loved it.

The cast was great. Of course the story pushes the believability factor and the story-line in predicable. But good acting and special effect makes the movie. Tony Stark's basement factory is like Batman's on steroids.

Best superhero movie I have seen (going back to the original Superman movie in the early 80s). I was a bit doubtful about Downey as Tony Stark, but he TOTALLY pulled it off. This movie will not disappoint on any level - awesome introduction to Iron Man, great action scenes, just the right amount of comedy, and the requisite romantic tension between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. Make sure you stay past the credits - there is much more to come!!!!

The story, the acting, the effects - all excellent. A great directorial showing for Jon Favreau. I could definitely identify his style in the pace of the movie and the humor. I've seen the movie a couple times so far, have recommended it to everyone I know, and look forward to seeing it again!
