Was very happy with Downey's portrayal of Stark. The writing was excellent with a number of humorous lines. It could have used a stronger villain in my opinion, but the character development was done very well. I am very happy with this movie as I am a big fan of comics, particularly IRON MAN.

The movie was spectacular. Robert Downey Jr. and Gwenyth Paltrow had great chemistry and comedic timing. It made the movie that much more enjoyable. It was well cast and action packed.

Really, this was pretty good. Not as totally in-your-face awesome, as a lot of people are saying it is, but just really pretty decent. Honestly, I came into it thinking that it would be truly terrible, bordering unwatchable, like the 'Fantastic Four' movies. I was pleasantly surprised by the top-notch acting (I love you, Robert Downey, Jr.), eye-popping action and decent dialogue. I must-see if you dig the 'Iron Man' comics, or are just in the mood for a spiffy flick

It is about time that a Marvel comic be turn into a "masterpiece" this movie has guts.
Story line, plot, action, the edge of the sit adventure all rolled into one excellent well done piece of entertainment in this movie. If you still have the child at heart this movie leaves you wanting more. more and even more. I must say thank you for a fun, exhilarating, shout out loud summer block buster.

An estimated box office of 100 Million + is great news for future sequels and a push to create more comic book films.
If you are not familar with Iron Man or may not even be a comic book (Graphic Novel)
fan everyone can enjoy this film. There has been films that have been slow in story only because they are trying to introduce a huge history to a new audience, but story is exciting from beginning to end of credits.
Please stay thru the credits because right after there is one more scene and it is a very important scene. Fans will be cheering and those new to the story will be hooked!

Good job of "staying true" to the original Iron Man as I remember the old comics but updating it to th 21st Century. But if you've never read a Marvel Comic, you'll still find it enjoyable. Action, Humor, keeps moving.

I loved this movie. Robert Downey Jr. is what this movie stand out. He played the character exactly right. Usually these movies based on a comic book hero can be pretty simple in plot and you don't feel drawn in by the characters. Normally I hate Gwyneth Paltrow, but even she was good. There were a lot of funny moments and the special effects were great. The plot was easy enough to follow but not so simple that it was uninteresting.

This movie was absolutely amazing!!!! I saw it on Fri. & loved it. It was soooooo funny but serious @ the same time. I would definetely go see it. If you have little kids, there are a few parts that were unappropriate, but other than that it should be fine. Hope this review was helpful. :)

My husband and I took our two sons to this movie. I was not expecting a lot, but was greatly surprised. We all agreed that this was now our favorite Marvel movie. Robert Downey Jr was the perfect choice for the role. The story line, special effects and acting from everyone was top of the line. I was very impressed with everything about it! I hope Favreau directs addictional Iron Man movies in the future. I will also be looking out for more work from Robert Downey Jr. He's made a great comeback with this one!

I am an avid comic book reader and Iron Man has never been at the top of my list nor has it been at the bottom. Because of that, I was hesitant when I first heard that this was the next movie in line for Marvel.
The previews started to hook me in, but I wondered if what I saw in them would be all that was great in the movie. I was wrong. This was an excellent movie with a well written script, great actors, and well paced direction. This is the way all comic book adaptation movies should be handled.
I was worried about Jon Favreau because his movies are hits and misses, but he hit this one out of the ballpark. Whether you know anything about this character or the Marvel Universse, you will love this movie.
P.S. For you Marvel fans, you should stick around and watch the movie until the credits end. It's a nice hint of what's to come.

My husband loves all the comic book/hero movies. Most of them I like, some I tolerate (the Hulk) but this movie has by far been the best! It kept my attention through out the whole 2 hours. And although you can definately tell that this movie was written by a guy for a guy (for example he as the record with sleeping with the Maxim models) it does do something for the female audience as well. The plot was deep and the love story was cute. But I think the greatest thing about the movie is that it is actually plausable. It is not like Superman or Spiderman where the hero could not actually be real. But if a guy were to be gorgeous, super rich, and a super genous Iron Man could actually be born.

This movie towers over the others of this genre. Very good story line, coupled with an appropriate number of "action" scenes make this a very entertaining movie. Interesting enough to keep me awake and attentive throughout the two plus hours of running time. I especially enjoyed the final scene in which the main character is overcome with the uncontrollable urge to be honest. The best of the comic book stories yet, don't miss this one.

Being a fan of Ironman back to the old cartoons in the 70's / 80's I must say that this film is an amazing interpreation of the character and does an excellent job of catching the look, and feel of ironman with some modern updates.
Even if you've never heard of Iron Man before this show is a must see. it has a great story, awesome visuals, with plenty of action, humor and emotion to take you on the thrill ride of the century. Two thumbs up.

This movie is a great come-back for Robert Downey Jr. He fits the role very well. The CGI parts of this movie are very good and seem a lot like Transformers. The kids loved this along with the wife. A movie for the whole family. There are plenty of high-tech toys and jets in this movie to make it entertaining.

You don't have to be a comic fan to really enjoy this. It was more of a character story than a special effects bonanza. Don't get me wrong, the special effects were great, but the story was more about the characters. It didn't take itself overly serious and had the right amount of comedy.

Robert Downey was excellent and the technology and fx were first rate. My only disappointment was the predictable and underwhelming ending. While it doesn't ruin the film, it left me unsatisfied and wishing the morons in Hollywood would push the boundaries more and stop trying to be safe warm and dry.

"Iron Man" is a comic book movie for adults about an adult. Robert Downey, Jr., is the perfect choice to play the playboy genius/weapons manufacturer Tony Stark who is suddenly confronted by the consequnces of his lifelong vocation. Surrounded by quality actors Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrance Howard, this is a well-crafted but fun movie that milks Downey's and director Job Favreau's sense of sense of gravity and yet also a sense of fun. Comic book geeks are well-served with hints of what to look forward to in sequels (and as others have noted, STAY THROUGH THE CREDITS!). Family-safe, though be aware of intense, though ungory war images.

I was scared this was going to be another Fantastic Four debacle, but I was pleasantly surprised. I put this in my top echelon of superhero movies, which includes X-Men, Batman Begins and the first Spiderman. Robert Downey Jr. really made this movie work for me. He was fantastic! Ms. Paltrow was amazing. I was surprised to see Clark Gregg (New Adventure of Old Christine) in the cast. Make sure to stay after the credits!
