The movie began in the middle of the story, a classic way for an epic adventure to begin, and it did not disappoint. The director threw us into the middle of a war zone and then took the opportunity to go back to the beginning to let us in on the back story. I loved the ability then to bring us back to the war zone and get on with the movie. Some of the other Marvel movies have died a little bit in the prep time getting to the point of telling us the back story, but this one was great. I will definitely see it again.

I had been looking forward to this movie since I heard about it last year. It was totally awesome on every level. Jon Favreau did a brilliant job with this adaptation. Robert Downey Jr. was flawless in this role, and the perfect person for it. It's a must see, and I will definitely go back and see it again. I can't wait until the sequel. This movie is THE definition of perfection in American cinema. I loved it, and you will too.

I am a movie fan. I went to see "Iron Man" with two rabid comic book fans, one 10 yrs old and one 28. Jon Favreau and his crew did a fantastic job of not only acurately fleshing out this comic book tale (so I'm told) but also not alientating their brand new audience (me). Plenty of moving electrical parts, firey blast offs, and missile misteps to satisfy the hard man or the wowable kid in all of us. No lulls, no excessive violence, no horrible language. The human/emotional aspect with a hint of romance, but not enough to dampen the running vein of adrenalin. In fact, the worst part for my 10 yr old compadre was the string of mature movie trailers before the film began. I give this movie 5 out of 6 Tulip Petals for a VERY good time!

I think this is one of the best Marvel movies yet. We took a 6 year old a 10 11 and a 53 year and everyone enjoyed it. It is the type of movie that comic nerds, like myself can Wow at like the numerous guys laughing and clapping during the movie and entertaining for those who have never heard of Marvel comics itself. After many delusions i was skeptical after watching the trailer (they made these trailers that looks so good and then the movie are not really at the same level....but this is another story), so when the movie started i was kinda prepared for a mediocre movie; but i was wrong and i am really happy about that!
The movie open in a weird way: with the main event, then it goes on flashback to the previous 3 days to introduce Tony Stark, and then forward again to the present.
Don't want to spoil anything, no worries :)
Then we have the main theme of the movie, where the hero is "built", and then you start to see some action...and is absolutely amazing to see the action sequences, rendered in a fantastic 3d that looks so realistic that Transformers seems an amateur work!
Amazing music soundtrack; great story and very nice humor touch during the entire movie; that keep the movie enjoyable and never too dark (due the fact that the themes of the movie are pretty much dark, so without humor, the movie would be oriented to adults only).
This movie blows up everything done before (except Tim Burton's Batman, and the new Dark knights movies), included Spiderman; so let's hope that the new movies (someone said that there will be other 2 movies after this one) will be at the same level of this one, and that the writers will avoid the mistakes made with Spiderman 2 and Xmen 3

Wow. This was a very well scripted movie, superbly casted and acted, and the character Iron Man was perfectly developed. Robert Downey Jr. reminded so much of the Tony Stark of the comic book. I grew up on Iron Man, and the other Avengers. The movie Iron Man is the best superhero movie I've ever seen, and I've seen them all. It left me eagerly awaiting the next in the series. (There will be another, just stay for all the credits for a hint).

Not since the release of Spider-Man has the Marvel live action genre done so well with an origin story of a single hero comic (in other words, I don't consider X-Men or FF in comparison). Excellent character development of the primary hero and wonderful supporting roles by Paltrow, Stamp and Bridges. Truthfully the tipping point for the 4.5 to 5 rating was the spolier at the close of the film credits. Very exciting!

It's been a really long time since an adapted Superhero story managed to both make a good, exciting, fun movie and stay true to the characters. Iron Man is the new bar against which all future superhero movies must compare.
Robert Downey Jr. is the best fit for his role in the history of the Genre and we very quickly understand the character as he struggles with realizes who he was and who he should be.
The action sequences are very well done and the CGI is flawless. The final perfect touch is the well blended humor in the story.
Fans of the Comic Series will be very pleased. Especially if they stay to the end of the credits. Hint: Samuel L. Jackson is not in the first 2:05 of the movie.

We were really excited to see this movie and it turned out so much better than I even expected it. Usually it is hyped up to be more than it is but this was not, excellent movie. Robert Downey Jr. did an excellent job and I was very pleased with everyone else as well. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone even those who are not Marvel fanatics.

Fun & funny action-packed flick with all the WOW & lots of POW too!! Perfect casting with Robert Downey Jr. doing his comeback performance which he really "nailed".....Jeff Bridges was a kool deciever too~~ Great storyline and the Movie flowed very well with excitement and thrills but not full of silly pg-13 stuff~~~Cant wait for next installment of IROMAN and see what comes of the second suit??? I expected to be entertained and see an excellent movie... I wasn't disappointed! I love Robert Downey Jr., he was excellent as Tony Stark. I've never seen Jeff Bridges as a bad guy and it was an unexpected delight in his performance. Gwenyth Paltrow and Terrence Howard round out the cast with their awesome performances as well. This is a must see movie!

The movie was fantastic! Great acting along with seamless CGI. Surprised that they stayed pretty close to the source material (That's a good thing!). With movies like this, Hollywood tries to re-invent the wheel when they don't need too. Ironman is a shining example of a great comic book film. This movie is on the same level as Batman Begins and the first two X-Men films!

Great cast, good story, awesome effects and an ending that leaves you wanting more. I went to see this movie with my 11 year old son and ( I admit) average expectations. Simply put we loved it and kept talking about it so much that we went to see it again the next day. It is great to see Robert Downey Jr. back. I always felt he was a great talent. Truly a fantastic "popcorn" movie! The 2 hour+ running time flies by. Go right now and enjoy!

The "first" summer movie is usually a 'lead-in' for how strong this summer movie line up will be. If this is ANY indication of how this summer of 2008 will be, I'm going to die of a heart-attack, HAPPILY! WOW!
For any 'action' fan, for all comic 'fan-boys' (& 'girls'), for anyone that likes Robert Downey Jr. (Who COULDN'T have been better cast!), etc... this is a ride to take!
The Ego, the women, the comedy, the cold, the emotional, the brilliant, the vulnerability and the INVINCIBILITY of Tony Stark (AKA: Iron Man) is wonderfully done. Even to the last quote of the movie! Stark (Downey Jr.) can't all but help himself but to boldly, blatantly say... "I AM IRON MAN!"... his EGO wouldn't allow him to do anything else! That is Tony Stark.
All but one of the supporting cast was very strongly cast. Gwyneth Paltrow pulled off the understudy of the loyal, caring and loving (SUPER CUTE) 'Pepper Potts', Tony Starks long time suffering personal assistant. Jeff Bridges played the overlooked, resentful, back-stabbing Obadiah Stane. Tony Stark's fathers long time business partner, who is shoved aside when the young Tony Stark is ready to take over from his dead father. You don't see him as the enemy till it is almost too late. I love Jeff Bridges!
But Terrence Howard as Tony Stark's really only friend, James Rhodes (Rhody) is not as strong as he should be. Terrence is a good actor, but his soft demeanor and soft spoken voice, don't quite do justice to the character.
All in all, have fun! It is a great story, from beginning to end. I can't wait for IRON MAN II... Plenty of hints in the movie, espcially when 'Rhody' looks at the 'Mark 2' Iron Man armor and says "Umm... maybe next time!", Ah, 'War Machine' would be ALIVE!

Favreau did an awesome job bringing the Marvel hero onto the big screen. I love that he stuck to the true nature of Tony Stark. Also, CGI was only used when CGI was necessary making the film more realistic. Iron Man is one of the best comic book movies I have seen in a while and I can assure that anyone, whether a Marvel fan or not, will get a thrill from this movie. Go see it or you will be sorry.
