The story of 'Haywire; is really just an excuse to see Gina Carano, MMA fighter, fight . The story of a freelance agent set up for a killing and painted as a rogue agent is fine. Looked like director Soderbergh called in a few favors and cast the movie with big names but the star is Gina. The camera loves her and, no offense to Zoe Saldana or Angelina Jolie, you could easily buy her beating up various men. The ending was kind of open and I'd welcome a sequel!
I was looking forward to seeing this after the great trailer, but what a letdown. It had some good scenes but wasn't particularly scary. The ending pretty much ruined it. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried a sequel after the success of its opening.
With 'Takers' I got exactly what the trailer promised-good looking men in sharp suits and lots of action. It was great to hear Idris Elba's real accent and I enjoyed the performances. It's a good summer movie!
I enjoyed the first 'WDIGM' and was expecting to enjoy this one too. Tyler did a great job, the location was GORGEOUS and it was great to see affluent black folk. The characters haven't learned much from their first go-round but I must say I enjoyed the performances.Michael Jai White was a comedy highlight and Janet Jackson had me in tears.
Yeah, the main plot of the relationship between a D.A. and hooker was pretty melodramatic but every time Tyler Perry hits the screen as Madea, the movie is hilarious!
Zack Snyder deserves acclaim for trying to stick to the story of the Watchmen. Having read the graphic novel, I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Seeing it in IMAX was a treat too!
After hearing a bit about The Wrestler, I went to see it with my husband and it was amazing. It looks like a documentary and seems like such a slice of life. Mickey Rourke deserved every award he's gotten for this role-he was outstanding! It's a tough film to watch but just so outstanding.
Pixar really sets the bar high for animated movies. Wall*E was such an achievement-it gave such character to the robots! And the story of environmental issues, obesity, and love & loneliness-just great work all round! I can't wait until it comes out on DVD!
After seeing the trailer for 'Iron Man' last year, I was excited. I was also hoping the trailer didn't just feature the good parts and spoil the rest. I'm happy to say it didn't. Robert Downey Jr. has found his perfect role in Tony Stark! What a great way to start the summer!
