WOW!! This is why we go to the movies. Incredible action - fascinating plot twists - great graphics! The casting director did an excellent job of choosing just the right people for this bigger than life endeavor. Mr. Downey? His timing was right-on weather in comedy lines or just expressions. Jeff Bridges was larger than life as the villian par excellance. There wasn't a slow minute in the film. Even the music score was delightfully peculiar and edgy. I guess the best thing I can say about the movie is this...it has been a long time since a movie brought out the little boy in me. Go IRONMAN. Can you have the sequal ready soon?

Robert Downing Jr. plays Tony Stark perfectly and the Iron Man suit is amazing. Those two reasons are all you need to know about thiis movie to make you see it not to mention how great everything else was.

This is one of the few movies that I would actually go see again.. and even on the same day. Great movie. Stay after all of the credits to see a little tiny clip of the future. Excellent humor, good story line, villains that are easy to dislike. A must see for this year, if you limit yourself to just one action film, let it be Ironman

I'll admit that after the less than desired outcome of Daredevil, I was skeptical of seeing another John Favreau comic movie. Wow, was I wrong about that. From start to finish, this is a classic movie for both comic and non-comic fans. Robert Downey Jr. is AMAZING as Tony Stark.....what an amazing job he did, I'm still in shock about how great this movie is. Two huge thumbs up.

Well done and well written. What makes this a great movie is how well it is written. It takes the first few years of the Iron Man comics and condenses it into this movie. It does so keeping the Iron Man character in context, even though the time frame is current rather than forty + years ago. The acting by Downey, Paltrow and Bridges is excellant and they bring their characters to life without the campyness of typical superhero movies. Direction is great and the special effects are second to none. I enjoyed this movie as much as the original Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson Batman. Enjoyable to watch as Spiderman without the tedious teenage angst. Iron Man interpeted by Robert Downy is a believable flawed man that is thrown into a life changing event that shatters his view of his life and world. Not only is he a changed man, but he is determined to change the world without regard to personal cost. This movie will be added to my collection and be viewed again and again.

Iron Man is a lot of fun, with a good story that moves along smoothly, and action scenes that deliver a rush. There is also plenty of humor that keeps the film fun in between action sequences. My Dad liked Iron Man too, so I say that this is a good film to take the action movie fan in you family to:)

I didn't see this movie opening weekend as I expected it to disappoint. Really it is hard to make comics just right.
When it got raves I thought well I have to see this and am I glad I did. I haven't seen a movie this fast moving, funny and just plain exciting since last year's Bourne Ultimatum.
Iron Man has it all and Robert Downey Jr is fantastic. I am so pleased to see him again and in such a role. Everyone was perfectly cast and I can't wait for the sequel. I'm already telling everyone I know how good this film is and to go see it.

this was an awesome movie. i was not on board when they choose downey; i though he was too short. but; he did an awesome job; he really did fill the role OH so well. gwyneth was great as pepperpots; the play between the two was dead on; and steamy; lol. jeff bridges as a bad guy; awesome! i hope he does another bad guy part soon. the hints of a possible second movie; where there, and i can't wait to see it.

Took my fiancee to the Studio Movie Grill in Dallas to see Iron Man and it was everything I had hoped for. It explained his origins and the story line was compelling and relevent to today's world environment (I like the fact that he kicked the crud out of terrorists). All of the actors did a great job (Downey ROCKS), the humor was good, and the effects were top-notch. I'm a Superman fan since childhood, but now I need to make space on the DVD shelf for my copy of Iron Man when it's released.
I can't wait until the sequel comes out (please, let there be a sequel and PLEASE hire Downey back as Stark). The movie was great. I may have to head back to the theatre to see it again.

I saw this with my dad and he and I were not disappointed at all. We were surprised by how well Robert Downey Jr. did as Ironman but he did a magnificent job as well as the other actors and actresses. Can't wait for #2 :D

I can't believe the reviews this movie is getting -- or the money it's making. The first 45 minutes are brilliant, but, in the end, they only highlight the muddle it's become at the end. It feels like a script put together by a committee of consultants after watching a focus group of alcholics. ("This doesn't make any sense unless we put a speech explaining it over here.") If this is what $250 million buys in 2008, the age of the blockbuster is in real trouble. However, Robert Downey Jr. is terrific and lights up the screen whenever he's around. His performance is worth an extra star.
