I HAVE NEVER LIKED ROBERT DOWNEY JR. THAT MUCH UNTIL THIS MOVIE, EVEN MY BOYFRIEND PRAISED ON HOW WELL OF A JOB HE DID PORTRAYING THE CHARACTER OF IRON MAN. THE SPECIAL EFFECTS WERE AMAZING AND IRON MAN IS MY NEW FAVORITE SUPERHERO!

One of those movies incapable of disappointment. Even with high expectations, Iron Man delivered! Robert Downey Jr brought so much fun and wit to the role. He made every line funny and diddn't take himself too seriously, even for a moment.
Finally, a superhero franchise that will have me waiting in line for the sequal!

Bravo Robert Downey, Jr. ... After several decades, he finally has a major box office hit. His performance lifts the quality of this action film, as does the surprise performance from Jeff Bridges.
Solid direction and great production value ... DO NOT leave BEFORE the final frame of the credits ... we felt bad for most of the audience who left only us Los Angeles 'credit readers' to enjoy the final surprise.

Funny but not campy, epic but not outlandish; Iron Man delivers everything you could hope for in a superhero movie. Lots of action, great effects, well placed humor; as well as some things lacking in other recent movie adaptations: respect for the source material and a solid, well conceived believable plot, and a virtual all-star cast of actors perfectly casted for their roles.
Not only is the best superhero movie in years, this will easily be one of the best movies of 2008.

Being a woman who hates "Chick Flicks" this
film scores high on the anti chick flick scale..
But you know what? Take that honey lady of your heart. At least she'll enjoy seeing Robert Downey Jr. eye candy while you cheer on the
spfx. The script holds up nicely, and let's face it folks, isn't that what always counts in the end? By the way, yours truly really enjoyed this film's techno-freak aspects. Have fun!

I've never read Iron Man comics, in fact, I've never heard of Iron Man. Went with hubby to see it and I loved it! Don't miss it, and be sure to stay through the credits for the surprise at the end.

The movie was great it introduced the comic to live action really well for most who had never read any of the comic books it did a great job of explaianing the back ground in an updated way. If you have read the comic it still does a good job of moving over to a live action movie. Downey Jr was pretty good. The only downside was the long lead up to the action scenes but the comedic value in between helped it out. Overall great movie already seen it twice. Cna't wait for part 2. Must see!

Excellent! Very well written script. Acting was superb. We enjoyed the many unexpected twists. It's not one of those movies you can figure out early-on. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.

This movie was much better than expected. After the disappointing, convoluted SpiderMan 3, Iron Man was very refreshing. There were no corny, cheesy quips in dialogue which often ruin a blockbuster big-budget films. Robert Downey Jr. is one of my favs...great choice for the character, Tony Stark.

I loved the whole thing. It was so much fun to watch, and I am so happy for Downey's success. Bridges was a very convincing evil man.
It was sad to see Heath Ledger as Joker in the Batman preview, as he lost his battle with addiction.

A lot of us fanboys waited a long time for this. And if it had come back when we were ready it would have been as disappointing as The Hulk. Technology has come almost as far as Stan Lee promised us. Having an actor who could plumb the depths of Tony Stark's psyche is by far the greatest case of serendipity Hollywood has seen in a long time.

Great acting all around. Special note should be made of Robert Downey Jr.'s performance; it is what makes the story compelling beyond the special effects. The well-written script equals the intensity of "Spiderman 2" but shows a more mature heart. It's good to see a character choose to become a hero without all the angst-riddled self-doubt that has plagued other recent Marvel fare. In my opinion it rivals "Batman Begins" for best superhero film of the decade so far. And it's the first movie since the return of The Dark Knight in that aforementioned film that had me saying to myself as I left the theater, "I gotta see that again!"

I am not particularly a Robert Downey, Jr. fan, but this movie was excellent. Now that I have seen him in this movie, I couldn't imagine anyone else doing this. The movie was great. I enjoyed the action and the interchange between all the characters. The topic was current and the technology portrayed in the movie was great. I especially was fascinated by the computer holograph sequences. At times it was hard to tell "movie magic" from the real thing available today. I have taken friends and family back to see this moive several times. Great job to alll involved!

Having read the comic book series, beginning with the very first issue, I was eagerly anticipating this movie and was not disappointed. The story was true to its roots despite that first comic having been published more than 40 years ago. The story, updated for the 21st century, was exciting, with lots of action, cool technology and strong acting by a superb cast, especially Robert Downey Jr. Even my fiancee, who never read the comic books, doesn't especially like action films and asked me to give her the backstory on the way to the theater, enjoyed it thoroughly.
