True to the comic with a modern twist

Having read the comic book series, beginning with the very first issue, I was eagerly anticipating this movie and was not disappointed. The story was true to its roots despite that first comic having been published more than 40 years ago. The story, updated for the 21st century, was exciting, with lots of action, cool technology and strong acting by a superb cast, especially Robert Downey Jr. Even my fiancee, who never read the comic books, doesn't especially like action films and asked me to give her the backstory on the way to the theater, enjoyed it thoroughly.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
