i thought that this movie was o.k. it wasn't as suspensful as i thought it would but it wasnt to terrible. i would recommend going to watch it bacuase it has a really good story line to it. if you go see it then enjoy

"Iron Man" was probably the best Marvel movie of all-time. I didn't understand the begining that much, but the last hour was very good. The ending was the best part of the movie (in my opinion). There was some funny parts, but they were scattered throughout the movie. I liked the way that they showed Stan Lee (because Stan Lee appears in every "Marvel" movie). Some parts were a little confusing, but I think it was the best movie I have seen this year.

I pray that this franchise doesn't jump the shark like Spiderman 3 did. It worked on all levels:
great FX, great cast and had a sophisticated plot that made you think. The characters are flawed but that is what makes them believable. Of course, it is a comic book story but The X Files was able to push through those same type of story limitations and did exceptionally well-even with the restrictions of television. I can only hope IM does the same.

Best of the Super Hero flicks so far - Great, great action & story - Incredible Outfit and Special Effects - Fast Moving.
Downey is fantastic - perfect for the role, as is Paltrow. Bridges plays a great villain.
Can't wait for the sequel!

I was personally not a big fan of Robert Downey Jr. before this film and I did not know much of the Iron Man character from the comics either, but after watching this movie all I can say is WOW! Nothing but good things to say about this movie and I didn't want it to end so soon (it is a 2+ hr movie!), special effects were absolutely top notch and I really like the storyline! Now they just need to get working on Iron Man 2!!!

Great acting by just about everybody - Downey especially. I'm mixed on Gywneth Paltrow, but she plays the role she's given well enough.
It does everything it should, makes few (if any) mistakes, and tells the superhero origin story nicely.
It's a ridiculously fun popcorn movie that isn't empty (transformers, x3, etc), and the story makes a reasonable amount of sense (also transformers, x3, etc). Well worth your $10!

I think Robert Downey Jr. did a good job in this movie and there were other good actors as well. I like the whole plot of the movie in the sense that "Tony" wanted to turn around the project that his father started. He's trying to change distruction into more of a positive for the country.

What a fun way to start off my summer movie experience! I was not familiar with the Iron Man story/comic at all. Yet, I was completely entertained from start to finish with this film. Acting was great, Directing was great, and the writing was great!
As one who works towards peace, I was very moved to see the determination of Tony Stark who was willing to take big risks in order to undo what he had created. This transformation, similar to Ebenezer Scrooge, was emotional, physical and spiritual.
I give it an A.
And I can't wait to see the sequel!

I was actually impressed with the adaptation. I am not a big comic book fan, nor did I even know that Ironman was a comic book prior to the movie's release. My husband and I went as a date and really enjoyed ourselves. Enough humor and romance (not a lot) to keep me happy and a lot of action for him.

Iron Man was an action packed, comic book adaption, fun guys night out movie. If you have been waiting for a movie that will even out the score with the significant other because of all of the chick flicks you have had to sit through, this one is it. 2 hours go by before you know it. The story line is believable and the ending is... you will have to see it for yourself. Can't wait for the sequel. With that being said, thought they played up the romance thing a little too much like the superman movies but on a scale of 1 - 10, it's a 9.5 thrill fest.

This was a really good movie. My husband is a big super hero buff, and had no complaints about anything not being right ... so that's an extra plus! It was so good to see Robert Downey, Jr. back in the saddle again. And, his performance was fantastic ... the subtle humor he brought to the role was just perfect. He made Tony Stark believable!

Wow! Best adaptation from a comic bool yet. I am a huge fan and read all the Marvel comics as a kid and Iron Man tops even Spider Man in my book. Robert Downey is intense and amazing. The cast was wonderful. Not a boring minute in an over 2 hour movies. Kudos to Stan Lee!

This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time and is very well done. It has it all -- action, romance, all-star cast. The title makes it sound like a juvenile flick, but it definitely is not. Robert Downey, Jr. is great!

I enjoyed the film and was glad to see Downey back on track, he was excellent in the film.
The premise of the story war monger to a new vision made the film for me.

The silliest part of the film is Paltrow's character's name - Pepper Potts - easily the best new drag name in a long time. Despite all sorts of explosions and broken glass, she can walk in stilettos with not a hair out of place. It was very entertaining - Rambo meets The Terminator - and slams you over the head with patriotism, morality and lots of gratuitous violence. Lots of imagination went into this. Buy a huge bucket of popcorn and laugh out loud.

Ironman is entertaining and fun, but not a great movie. You will not be disappointed with the action. Robert Downey Jr. does a good job portraying the main character. It seems to me that Ironman should even be a bit more indestructable, as he gets kicked around pretty good.
