Just when you thought it has all been done in the superhero genre, IRONMAN explodes onto the screen and fills it with action with a unique human twist. Downey Jr delivers in spades as the reluctant hero who becomes a champion for all the right reasons... it needs to be done and it's the right thing to do. This film has everything and it is a rocket ride you don't want to miss!

Robert Downey Jr impressed me as a summer action flick star. He totally fit the role. Gwyneth Paltrow was a ilttle weak, but that is typical of comic damsels. The action was terrific. Just wished there was more of it. I'll bet ironman II will be even better.

Marvel has had a couple of recent clunkers in the stable: X-Men 3 and Spider-Man 3 were not at the top of their game, and we'll leave the Fantastic Four films out of the equation out of mercy. Iron Man, however, brings Marvel back to the forefront of the superhero genre. A terrific performance by Robert Downey as Tony Stark/Iron Man, fantastic special effects that actually help convey the thrill of flight (and the fear of falling), and a story just strong enough to keep us interested make this a great Saturday afternoon popcorn-muncher. "The Incredible Hulk" will have a lot to live up to. "The Dark Knight" from the esteemed competition will have its work cut out for it.

delievers top notch acting giving beleivability to a out of the ordinary story. a real treat to see Robert Downey Jr come back and show us how its done, he was terifice years ago and he still has it! what a role and look for Jeff Bridges, exceptioanl action sequences, Gweynth and Howard do their always excellent work, really hope to see them again reprising these rolles.

I thought hat the movie was great.
I went out of curiosity because I had never read the comic book. Robert Downey was outstanding. I was also surprised by the choices of Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow as cast members. They were also excellent.
I'm a big fan of Terrence Howard. However I think that his part should have been written more strongly . Maybe in the sequel it will.

As a long time fan of the comic I was far from disappointed. Of course, I would have loved to see an Iron Man movie 20 years ago, but I am overjoyed that the comics world took the slow boat to make things right. Downey was born to be Tony Stark- 'nuff said. Bridges as Stain? Yeah baby! He aced this one, so well, that it was fun to hate him! C'mon- he's the Big Lebowski- how can you hate Jeff Bridges? Shave his head and give him some armor!
BOTTOM LINE- anyone who has ever been a fan of Iron Man or comics in general MUST take time to enjoy this flick. FOOM baby!

I really enjoyed this movie - I took my 10 yr old grandson who thought it was very cool - lots of action especially between the ironmen - quite a bit of blood for very young kids, I wouln't recommend it for under 7.

As robotics are one of the 'in' topics of discussion currently, this movie's timing is impeccable. Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of his character is the epitome of the mega-wealthy, genius, handsome heir to a fortune made by his father. He's quirky, emotionally shut down, frighteningly brillant, impetuous, very much his own man making his own way throug his world without really caring what others think of him. (Very akin to the rumors regarding Howard Hugh's behavior and social interactions with people.)
Jeff Bridges is appropriately creepy , intelligent and scheming. Despite his sociopathic brilliance, his character falls just short of the mastery portrayed by R. Downey Jr.'s character. Perfect.
Gwyneth Paltrow is also wonderful, adding a wider dimension to roles previous played in the James Bond series by his female assistant in the home office, (Miss Pennyfeather?), that keep everything together and running efficiently while the hero is off having his escapades and, ulmately, saving the world. Paltrow's sense of style and beauty convey the idea that it's possible to be attractive AND intelligent, AND efficient at the same time.
Hat's off the the cast, director, and the producers of this film!

We went to this movie because my son wanted to go. Both my husband and I left saying this was a really good movie. It does have a bit of violence and the start is little racy but as a whole it is a great adventure with a genius going from the dark side to the good side. Great casting and Robert Downey Jr is wonderful.
Highly recommend and I'm not a comic book fan.

We saw Iron Man three times in it's first week. It was absolutely amazing! We are huge fans of the Iron Man comics, and were a little worried that they were going to stray from them but we were very happy and extremely satisified with what we got. In the new Iron Man comics, Tony Stark is based on Robert Downey Jr so we were thrilled that he was given the title role.
Overall fantastic movie and we are eagerly awaiting the blu-ray release!

After the hype, I expected a lot from this movie and was not disappointed.
Robert Downey, Jr. made and outstanding super hero. He has the looks and his delivery of his lines made him believable.
The technological aspects of the film left many a "gadget" head dreaming for more!
Jeff Bridges as an evil villain! Who knew that he could pull that off? He was excellent in this role. I really hated him when we got to the final scenes.
Gwyneth as Pepper Potts was believable and the chemistry between Gwyneth and Robert made for some fun scenes.
I'd recommend that anyone who is interested in a good, exciting action film go and see it.

This movie FAR exceded my expectations! Yes it had special effects...Great Ones too! BUT what made all the special effects worthwhile was there was a story line that made sense, tied everything together, and the characters were fabulous....especially Robert Downey Jr. .....EXCELLENT, and Jeff Bridges.....who would have thought of Jeff Bridges as a bad guy! I didn't even recognize him until he spoke! The way Gwynith Paltrow played down her star status....just truly a terrific movie.....and I'd see it again! Watch out Steven Spielberg! This director can integrate special effects with an actual story!
