friggin' phenomenal! Robert is fantastic, Bridges is a great villian and Terrence never lets me down. no comment on Ms. Paltrow, I could've done a better acting job there. it seems as though all of Sparks hilariously dry quips and wit was lost on her character. not sure if that's how it was supposed to be or just bad acting on her part. special effects were intense, insance, and indescribable. script was quirky, not too lengthy and quite comical. i went for pure pleasure and that's exactly what i got! fun for the kids and not too scary for the little ones. fast cars, fast women, weapons of mass destruction and burger king...all the makings of legends. GO SEE IT!

I had been anticipating this movie for some time. Not only was I not let down, as this is one of the best comic adaptations I've ever watched, but this was an excellent movie in its' own rights. The writing, story and acting were all top notch. The CGI was fantastic. It did not detract from the movie in any way. I can not recommend this movie enough. I will be seeing it a second time for sure if not more.

Ironman. Long awaited and highly anticipated. This movie is fantastic. You are not let down by ANYTHING in here! Robert Downey Jr is phenomenal, as I knew he would be. Anyone who has seen Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang knows how great he is. Gwenyth is really good as Pepper. The story is great and the plot moves along without any dragging or backtracking. Jon Favreau has done a perfect job directing this comic book come to life.
I don't want to give anything away - You need to watch this movie. Being the beginning of the Summer Blockbuster season I have to say, THIS IS THE WAY TO KICK IT OFF!
If the rest of the summer fare is at least half as good we will be having a GREAT summer.

Excellent addition to the Marvel line of movies. Robert Downey, Jr. not only fits the boots(?) of Iron Man but the expensive Italian shoes of Tony Stark. Right down to the womanizing and tortured rebirth of an Arms manufacturer turned super-hero.

For me, this was a highly anticipated movie. Iron Man is a perfect start to the summer blockbuster action movies, combining some intense action with a relatively well developed story. Downey shines as Tony Stark, delivering some great comedic lines and involved character development. I'd easily recommend anyone go see this movie, as it's incredibly entertaining.

Best Marvel movie to come out since Spider Man! Great special effects, you don't get lost thinking "this is computer animation". The story line was fresh. Other movies get slow in developing who the character is, but in IRON MAN, who Tony Stark is and how he becomes IRON MAN is riveting. I wasn't an IRON MAN fan before, but I will be checking this movie out again!

Going into this movie i was sceptical, concideirng the odds of comic movies doing well is slim as the directors often exersize a large amount of creative licenes (anyone remember the fire and smoke Galactus from Fantastic Four 2) however i must say that almost every part of this movie was exicuted flawlessly. and a bit of a spoiler but expect a Captian America and Thor movie here quite soon as after the credits roll Tony is aproached by Nick Fury for the Avengers

In short: this movie delivers. It has a conscience without being preachy. The audience laughed out loud and clapped more than once during the film. The action does its part without overloading the film or putting the audience into an "action vacuum" where you space out for five minutes. The action actually serves the story and reveals character - rare. Finally, and most notably - you will have fun watching the actors have fun. Plot holes and 2-dimensional characters, there are a few and none are fatal; if we must list them: Shane is a one-note baddie, without the complication/depth of caring for the man he's raised as a son; the unparalleled Gwyneth Paltrow and the raw and deliberate Terrence Howard don't have enough to do in the film; one is slightly distracted by their appearances, and not because their screen time is limited. There's so much untapped potential here, which the sequels will hopefully develop, which confuses the audience since you figure "Gwyneth Paltrow! Terrence Howard! Certainly they will be crucial to the film and their characters will have depth explicitly matched to their unique talents!" you'll find yourself waiting for the supporting cast to have something more to do, but what they do is ultimately infused with candor, humility, and, again, fun; the plot twists you can see from a mile away, but you won't mind; the film's simplicity serves as a welcome retreat from contrived confusion in which many films shoddily cloak their ill logic and cliched character. With Iron Man: You won't be blown away, but you will be drawn in.

Iron Man was both a comedy and an adventure. It has something for everyone, there are some very serious moments in the movie as well as a lot of well thought out comic relief. This movie definitely set itself up for a sequel and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good laugh and an explosion filled action packed adventure.

Every now and then Hollywood gets it right. They nailed it 100%. I could not imagine anyone else other than Robert Downey Jr. being cast as Tony Stark. It's not just a movie about Iron Man the super-hero but Iron Man as Tony Stark. Iron Man has never been the stereo-typical goody-too-shoes hero and that's reprsented in the movie perfectly by Robert Downey Jr. The movie is funny, entertaining, exciting, and adapted to modern times, while still staying really close to the original story as possible. I will see it again and buy it when it hits DVD/blue-ray.

This was a great film. The plot and storyline were solid...and made sense!! The directing and character development reminds me of how the Spiderman franchise started. Can't wait for the Ironman 2.

This is an EXCELLEMT comic book movie, and a very good movie in general. Good cast, good story, well acted - without being overly dependent on flashy effects. Definitely see it in the theater and then buy the DVD when it comes out!

It was great it's so good to see Robert Downey Jr making it big again he fit the character so good. It had a bit of everything and none overdone the only thing I was a bit down by was that I was looking forward to hearing him say "I am Iron Man" in a robotic sound and it never happened I guess it was only in the trailers otherwise it was awesome!

Iron Man by far has been one of the best marvel comic book stories brought to the big picture. The movie takes it time to build the story, its filled with action, comedy and not a dull moment in the film.
Tony Stark ( Iron Man) played by Robert Downey Jr., (hottie by the way) did an excellent job with this movie. Tony Stark is an actual alcoholic in the original story, and I find it interesting that they chose to use Downey because of his past problem with alcohol. Which probably adds more realness to the movie.
Excellent Job! I wouldn't pass this movie up.

This movie was by far the most perfect representation of Iron Man that I ever could have asked for. I went into the movie not expecting much of anything, and left inspired, blown away, and just over-joyed with the experience. And the cliffhanger is one of the most intense for this comics fan in a LONG time!!!!

Robert Downey Jr. is note perfect in this clever flight of fancy from talented actor/director Jon Favreau.
The film pays close homage to the visual intensity of its comic-book origins, while deftly utilizing the latest in nifty film special-effects. It also capably manages the tricky task of being both mechanically plausible and humanistically engaging.
The dialogue is crisp and hilarious, and the cast is flawless, from the repressed characters played by Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow, to the boistrous characters played by Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges.
While the film would have benefitted from being 10 minutes shorter -as almost every movie would, these days- the editing is sharp, the music strong, and the film, overall, well worth your theater-going effort.
Even for a non comic book reader like I am, this film sets a new standard for its genre and is an instant classic.

This is the best comic book adaptation I have seen so far. I think Hollywood has figured out that the comic book crowd is a little more demanding...perhaps a little smarter on average than the usual audience. You can't win us over with just special effects. The movie had amazing special effects, but they didn't use them as fig leaves.
