Could be one of the best super hero movies yet. I can't imagine anybody but Robert Downey Jr. in this role. No sappy sentimental introspective moments and the action sequences were incredible. Gonna watch it again.

This movie is long but it didnt seem long. The movie keeps you entertained throughout, not letting you realize that you've hit the 2 hour mark. All in all, really good movie and I would watch it again.

This movie was amazing. Robert Downey Jr. was perfect. And Gwenyth was too cute for her own good. I think everyone should go see this so it makes incredible amounts of money so they can hurry and get the second one started. One of the best comic movies I've ever seen.

I thought the movie was pretty good, seeings how i didnt know that much background info on him. The visual effects were outstanding and Robert Downey made for a likeable character. The storyline was intriging as well and kept the audience into it. I an recommending this movie to anyone that will listen and i plan on seeing it again real soon.

I thought this movie was spectacular! The special effects were done so well that you are allowed to forget that it's CGI and lose yourself in the movie. I thought the casting was amazing too. Downer Jr. provided the arrogant cockiness that is portrayed in the comics. Paltrow was good, as well as Howard, but I thought the best supporting character was Jarvis, voiced by Paul Bettany. Bridges was an excellent choice as well, although it was easy to peg him as a villain early on. The references to the Avengers and War Machine were neat as well, but the real treat for fans was at the end of the credits.

Not only was it insightful, but this movie did more than most superhero movies: It made you forget you were watching men in tights or men with masks. The humanizing of Stark was an excellent move - from his vulnerability to his cockiness, to his strengths and weaknesses - every part was played to perfection. You *cared* about this character even when he did stupid, immature things.
I grew up reading the Iron Man comic book series, and in some ways they far surpassed my expectations with this movie. In fact, this is the way Tony Stark should have been portrayed all along. Excellent casting, excellent directing - and just a great start to the summer movie season.

This is one of the better superhero movies that I've seen. Everybody played their parts very well (not that Robert Downey had to make much of a stretch). It was entertaining from start to finish and not even Jeff Bridges could ruin it for me.
Also, Robert Downey's robotic lab assistant was just about the cutest thing ever.

The movie grabs your attention from the very beginning and holds onto you until the very end of the credits. I was on edge of my seat the entire time. All emotions were tapped into at one point or another. I'll probably see it a couple more times, it was that good. Robert Downey Jr., did an excellent job, much to my relief. After the movie was over I couldn't think of anyone else who could have done as good a job as him.

I got to see this movie last night for the midnight showing. It was one of the best made comic to movie characters I have seen. It really blew me away! It was a 2 hour movie and could have been longer it was so well made. Robert Downey Jr. was well cast, as well as the others. Definately wait until the credits are done and there will be a clip at the end to view setting up for the sequel. I would definately recommend this movie to people of all ages!! It is a MUST see movie!!!!!!!!!!

What a great way to kick off the summer movies!!! This movie had everything you could expect. And it also helps you out if you miss a few hints throughout the movie. Good acting overall, this only psyches me more to see future comic book movies including the Incredible Hulk

I saw this movie the day before release as part of a promotion at a local theater, and I was blown away! I entered into the movie with reservations about a villain I knew nothing about, worries that modernizing the origin may not translate well on-screen, and serious concerns about rumors of Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, but found everything tied together perfectly!
Robert Downey Jr. pulled off the role of Tony Stark magnificently, and the rest of the cast added even more to the film. The special effects were wonderful, and tastefully done (I dreaded the thought of an all-obvious-CGI Iron Man) the storyline flowed well, and the ending was perfect, both to the portrayal, and the recent comics.
Don't forget to stay until after the credits. There is a scene that doesn't add much to the movie, but does let us know what to expect from this franchise in the future.

I must admit I wasn't so sure about Robert Downey, Jr. being Iron Man, but I was sooooo wrong! He did a great job. And I found him really sexy and believeable in this role. Gwyneth Paltrow is as beautiful as ever but is never "just " a pretty face - she plays her part well. Jeff Bridges did an excellent job as the guy you just love to hate. Special effects were wonderful, action scenes were spectacular! This is definately one I'm buying and adding to my DVD collection when it comes out.

Iron Man is just, too good. I don't even understand. I went in there, legs tired and eyes heavy at 11:30 at night...and came out ready to do backflips. This gives some evidence to Iron Man also being some amazing panacea. A final solution to cancer? Maybe. I am pretty sure cancer would not even want to try and kill me, after realizing more Iron Man movies were in the making.
I don't understand how the movie was so good. The audience laughed and clapped in unison, the movie swaying everyone at once with its clear ability to entertain.
It was too awesome. As someone remarked upon exiting the theater "I'M GOING TO SEE IT EIGHT MORE TIMES"

This movie is awesome!! They stay true to the comic. So the comic fans will be happy but if your new to this kind of movie you won't be disappointed. Ah, it's been awhile since we had a new recruit join the ranks of Spiderman 2, Batman Begins, and X-Men 2 in the Hall of Awesome Superhero Films.
After last year's dissapointing Ghost Rider, Spidey 3, and Fantastic Four 2, it was easy to cast doubt on Iron Man. The special effect-laden previews looked like a Ghost Rider that swaped out a bike for a suit and goth for tech. Thankfully, Iron Man shatters these worries.
Robert Downy Jr. hits the perfect blend of arrogant and appealing in Tony Stark, welding a character that you love even when he's being a total jerk...which is often.
But the real praise must go to Stan Winston and the CGI production crew who made the armored suits, be they built or animated, come to life. Sleek, slick, and sexy. And we get to see four different models ( including the Iron Monger)! They're literally walking works of art, just with a payload of missles and a flamethrower on each arm.
If you smiled at all while reading that last sentence, this movie will not dissapoint you.
Note: DO NOT leave before the end of the credits. The extra scene afterwards is perhaps the best and most geek-tastic tease a Marvel movie has ever done. It may leave some people scratching their heads, but every comic fan will cheer.

Best Marvel Movie ever. X-men had something to offer and Blade 1 was entertaining. This movie just ruled. Plenty of action and one liners. No drawn out love scenes.
