My wife does not like going out to movies - so when I want her to accompany me, I usually have to sacrifice and see some type of 'girls night out' movie. I have to say - most guys will appreciate the crude humour in Bridesmaids! Its' not just another girlie movie! There is enough potty mouthed, farting and puking to make a guy at least crack a smile! If you have to 'sacrifice' and see a chick flick and earn some brownie points....this is definitely the one to go see!

Although it felt a little long at times, i think the story was well told and very humorous. I liked how Kristin Wiig's character was struggling with money, had a crappy car, and bizarre roommates. It felt more down to earth and not so glossy movie-esque. Melissa McCarthy was awesome and Rose Byrne was surprisingly humorous.

From the reviews in the News Paper to those on TV, I had expected a humorous movie about the "Drama" that goes with weddings. Instead, I got a movie that focused on the main character (Kristin Wiig) and her increasingly self destructive behavior. The are definitely some funny moments, but the majority of the humor is the exploitative, embarrassing kind where the main character makes a complete fool of themselves and everything ends up fine afterword. While I found the situations and language mostly crude and more than a little vulgar, it was evident by the laughter of those around me in the theater, my wife and I were in the minority.

Okay ... so there are holes in the plot and the ending was less than tidy. BUT ... the laughs start early and keep on coming. Kristen Wiig is hilarious and Melissa McCarthy had us rolling in the aisle! This is, thankfully, not just another stretched out SNL skit. Bridesmaids has more laughs, in 1½ hours, than SNL has had in the last three seasons.

Thank goodness for Ms McCarthy! She saved the movie at least in parts. Was the vulgar diarrhea scene really that necessarily long??? They would have been charged for so many of those designer dresses being destroyed... And why on earth take a bus back from Wyoming to Chicago? Why not just over the short drive to Las Vegas??? This movie has so much working in its favor. It's the funniest movie since The Hangover and what's different is the ensemble cast of comedic actors are all women. Seems like this type of outrageous comedy always goes to the men.
While the comedy is hilarious, the story behind the lead actress, Kristen Wiig's character, is actually quite sad. Kristen Wiig did a beautiful job of weaving the character's sad situation with outrageous comedy.
What truly separates this film from other outrageous comedies that have come before it is the emotional roller coaster ride you're taken on. From fits of laughter to tears when you realize Kristen Wiig's character has hit rock bottom.

Kristen Wiig and her supporting cast were great! It moved along with constant laughs.
Kristen incorporated just a hint of some of her SNL characters without overdoing it. Her blond hair helped create a new character for the movie.
The trailers left out many the best scenes, so I didn't leave the theater thinking, "I already saw the best parts."
The "adult" bits were so outrageous that they could hardly be taken seriously. After all, it is a comedy.
'Can't wait for the next Kristen Wiig starring movie.
