Four family members, ranging in age from 34 to 73, saw this movie together and we all enjoyed it. It's cute in places and laugh out loud funny in others. Yes, there are some unbelievable and contrived scenes and situations, but come on, it's a comedy not a documentary or historical drama. A few of the characters in the movie are caricatures, but IMO that adds to the humor and fun. Overall, this is a good move.
From the reviews in the News Paper to those on TV, I had expected a humorous movie about the "Drama" that goes with weddings. Instead, I got a movie that focused on the main character (Kristin Wiig) and her increasingly self destructive behavior. The are definitely some funny moments, but the majority of the humor is the exploitative, embarrassing kind where the main character makes a complete fool of themselves and everything ends up fine afterword. While I found the situations and language mostly crude and more than a little vulgar, it was evident by the laughter of those around me in the theater, my wife and I were in the minority.
We took our 5-year old grandson to see this and we all enjoyed it. There a genuine laugh-out-loud moments for everyone in this movie and the music is great.
You Again is a cute movie and is made enjoyable by the great actresses in the movie. If it weren't for Jamie Leigh Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, Kristin Bell and Betty White the movie would really have fallen flat. If you are ready to suspend disbelief and go for a funny story, then this will work for you. My only real objection in the whole movie is part of the growing trend in movies to put the characters in physically and emotionally uncomfortable positions for the "amusement" of the audience. There are several of these scenes in the move, so beware.
Toy Story 3, the latest and possibly final chapter, keeps the feel and spirit alive of the Toy Story franchise. There is lots of action and "feel good" interaction for the kids and a deeper subtext for the adults. A good family movie for all.
This movie is great fun from beginning to end. The action is almost non-stop and the dialog is very good. The chemistry between Diaz and Cruise is apparent and helps to build the story. Some of the story elements aren't believable but that's not what you're looking for in this kind of movie. I highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for an enjoyable, fun, experience where you aren't expected to think too much.
This is one of the best animated movies I believe I've ever seen. I thought it was even better than Up! Great story line and the dialog will keep both adults and children entertained. We saw this in 3D and I love the latest trend to have the 3D experience emmerse you in the movie. No objects jumping out of the screen or flying at the audience. Overall, I would highly recommend this movie as a family experience.
This is a fantastically great restart to the whole Star Trek Franchise! Great Action from beginning to end! Different look and a bit of a different feel from the other movies, but that's probably what was needed to re-invigorate the Star Trek franchise. If you are a Trek fan, I think you'll like this if you aren't I think you'll become one!
