Sweeny Todd, a character worthy of a straight jacket. I thought Johnny Depp was perfect for this role, he seems to be perfect for any movie in which he has to wear white make up, and dark circles. The movie by itself was ok, at times it was too dark for my taste, and the acting seemed over the top, i can't really imagine people behaving in this way, even in the late 19th century. The singing was ok, i mean johnny depp is not a singer, so with that at mind i think he did a good job. Overall the film was good, it had a good mixture of story and musical. Do i think it is an oscar worthy film, absolutly not. But thats just an opinion. Go out and see it for yoursleves.
I liked this movie, cute love story. Not heavy on the romantic side, but still cute. The dancing was good, although at times i wish there was more of it. I did not like the ending, the dancing scene in the rain. It ruined what the viewer could see, at times i couldn't see who was who. The plot of the film seemed heavily muted, its as though the writers focused more on the dancing scenes then on the non dancing scenes. The opening to the movie was crazy cool. I would watch the movie over just for that 3 minute scene. The acting was not that good, though you wouldn't expect the director to pay too much attention to that, so long as they had mad dancing skills, which they all did. Except for the geeky guy with the pooffy heair and braces, and the extremly tall girl. They should have been replaced. In comparison to Step Up 1, this movie was a good knock off. But it could have been way better.
I saw this movie with my friend, and i paid for both of us, i regret spending even $1 on this movie, let alone $22.00. It was so head jarring and mind numbingly rediculous. It was completely useless as a movie, and had no really underlying story. Other then that the earth is being attacked, WOOPIE. All i have to say is this movie was so bad that the entire theater audience Booed. I felt motion sickness, throughout the entire film. If i could i would give this movie a 0 rating, i would recommend that people stay away from this movie at all costs, watching paint dry would be more enjoyable then watching this movie. It was like The Blair Witch Project, on steroids and in even darker conditions then in Blair Witch. There is literally 3-5 minutes of darkness, that alone made me want to leave the theater. STAY AWAY! YOUR NOT MISSING ANYTHING.
I liked this movie. It was uplifting and romantically moving. The political undertone was not to my liking, i often wondered if this movie was produced by the Clinton campagin. I found Summer to be useless to the story, she added nothing but confusion to the story. I am also not sold that Maya is April's daughter, i had come ot the DEFINITE conclusion that Maya was her's. Overall i enjoyed this movie, would i see it again, probably not. But that is only because what makes the movie fun to watch is trying to guess who Maya belongs to, after that is solved the story just dissolves.
I loved this film, it was so oozingly romantic. It was kinda cruel how the letters kept coming, and who was sending them for him. But it made sense, it allowed her to slowly get back to herself. I could not stand Harry Connick Jr. in this movie, but half way through the film i just began ignoring him. Also i must say i have found a new appreciation for the Irish men, the acsents in the movie are reason enough to see this movie, super sexy. I must also say Hilary Swank is great in this movie, she did suh a good job that you could feel her hurt and passion coming at you through the screen, extremly moving and magical. Lisa Kudrow could have been funny, can't help but compare her acting in this film to her acting in Friends, like i said she could have been funnier. Laslty i must add, i will be going to ireland very soon to pick me up a singing irish man, WOO HOO!..lol..
Someone told me this movie was like the titanic of our time, i beg to differ. THere was very little action, and the chemistry between James and Keira seemed akward. It had a good story, just didn't deliever in the way i expected. I was waiting to be movied, but it never happened. The only thing i liked in the movie was the over all look of the film, and the authentic settings. OW and the ending, what a killer. So would i recomend this movie, sadly i would not. I wish i could because it really is a good story, its just too long, too slow, and forced acting kills the movie.
I liked the movie, it was a good story. Reminded me alot of crash how hey connect all the different characters in the end. It did get kinda mind numbing the way the story progressed. I felt like i was in the theater forever. If i could i would rate this movie at 3.5, but they don't let you, the acting was great (especially sigourny weaver), the plot was interesting, i'm just not completely sold on the replaing of the 1st 15 minutes, they could have progressed the story without that, however i'm not so sure they would have called it vantage point.
I liked this movie alot, sure at times you wish there were subtitles for the way she speaks, but other then that it is super rad. I liked the touchy feel of the movie, the rediculise dialogue and the akward chemistry, more so juno and jennifer gardners husband, between the characters. I would definetly watch this movie again, you go Diablo Cody!
