I grew up with The Jackson 5, The Jacksons and Michael Jackson. I have their catalog...and I would not say I am a 'die-hard' fan...but I am a fan. If you are one of those people that liked ONE song...or was a fan during the "Thriller' years and no longer...GIVE THIS MOVIE A CHANCE!! Very inspirational to all walks of life. Wish I could have met the man. He truly was one of a kind in a wonderful way. The movie on the IMAX screen was just like being by MJ's side. It was such an uplifting movie that the tears I had because of his death couldn't even fall.

MJ clearly didn't intend to die. He wanted to make this concert series the best he'd ever done. He wanted to do it for his fans, for his kids, as a testament to his belief that we need to heal our planet and heal ourselves, and to prove he was the undisputed King of Pop. No matter what you may think of MJ as a person, this documentary honors his unequivocal talent, perfectionist ambition and musical genius. The world will miss him. This is the first review I've written on this site. Never felt the need to before. But this movie surpassed even my expectations and I'm a true MJ fan. I was worried about feeling sad during the show but honestly there was no time for sorrow. He still had the magic. He was still surprisingly sexy, his voice was magical, his demeanor was loving. It gave a raw look into the creative process that I regret having to wait until he died to see. I've seen it twice and will return a third time this week. The IMAX experience was amazing.

No matter what you think of Michael Jackson, the person - you cannot deny that Michael Jackson was an amazing performer. This movie allows you to see not only what it takes to put a show of this magnitude, but just how in tune Michael was with his fans and what he wanted this show to be. Kenny Ortega may have been the director, but Michael still knew what worked best. Amazing dancers, vocalists, lighting technicians, musicians and other production personnel all focused on making this the best show possible. The small glimpses into who he was were just enough to make you remember he was a person, but not enough to make you forget he was a first rate entertainer.

In this film we get to see Michael's sweet personality as well as his amazing star quality all at once. He is intensely appreciative of his fans and ridiculously polite to everyone around him and at the same time is clearly an amazing force of extreme talent. I find this film inspiring on so many levels. There were several moments when I welled up with tears thinking that he's gone, but the film does not try to be sad or play on the sadness of those who loved him. It is simply real footage of Michael, doing what he did. It was beautiful and very entertaining. I could have watched for several more hours. And I am someone who gets bored easily. It was amazing---like Michael.

This movie is best seen at an Imax theater. You need to "feel" it as well as watch it. I have seen it on both and thought the Imax was much better. I also wish there was more.....Michael Jackson was a gift to all who enjoyed his music at one time or another. For the nonbelievers, you are only cheating yourself out of an experience that will never be available again. There will never be anyone quite like Michael again. His heart was huge~I feel sorry for those who fail to recognize that.

The movie provides but a glimpse of what "This is It" was going to be on tour, and it was going to be Awesome! You truly see his perfectionism and feelings for the music and his cast, and especially the performance he needed to provide for his fans. He may have been a little thin, but he had his energy and drive to deliver the commanding performances we all came to expect from him in Billie Jean, Beat It, Smooth Criminal, Thriller etc, etc... He will be missed. It's so very sad that none of us will ever get to see what MJ's vision for his final tour was to be, but this movie gives you a peek. I knew this movie would be great but it was beyond all my expectations! Michael was the picture of health and in total control of all aspects of his music. I will see it again and have already contacted my friends to go.

What a wonderful experience,. being able to see MJ behind the scenes and seeing what a great talent he was and such a perfectionist! I did not realize how really great he was until I saw this movie. I am a grandmother and have seen this movie 3X - two regular and one at the Imax. All were fantastic, and I was memorized watching it. I have a much greater appreciation of MJ since seeing this movie and I would highly recomment that everyone see it at the movie theater. I do not think watching it on DVD will do it justice. His death is definitely a tragedy.

I thought it was G-R-E-A-T!!! I saw it twice; once on the IMAX screen and the other time on the regular screen. Enjoyed them both, but preferred the IMAX experience. MJ is fantastic. I live in the USA and would not have been able to attend the concerts at the 02 arena. It was bitter/sweet. I was overjoyed to see Michael in his rare form. No other can or will ever compare or compete with his excellence.
