Extremely boring, it was nothing less than a documentary, the first 30 minutes were all boring interviews. Out of the first 11 songs sung, I only heard of Under Pressure, and a remake of Tooti-Fruiti. I was expecting a full two hour concert with their greatest hits. I threw away $40.00 watching this garbage.
Cons boring
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I took my 24 year old daughter and we both loved it. She has heard the music but never saw the band perform so it was a whole new perspective for her. Brought back some great memories for me - Freddie Mercury was amazing - that voice! Can't help but wonder what he'd be doing if he was still here.
Too bad it was so poorly promoted - the theatre was almost empty - it would have been so much better with a packed house.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

What a blast! Even though YouTube has made Queen concerts available to anyone who takes the time to search, when you see it "up close and personal" on the big screen, it's a totally different experience.
Coming off their Live Aid "best 20 minutes in Rock 'n Roll history" performance, they were in top form and the camera work was outstanding---the Hungarian film crew did a great job of capturing close up detail that you normally never see and the commentary up front and throughout just added to the pleasure. The Knebworth concert clearly shows John throwing his guitar into the amplifier----last venue of the tour and Freddie had already let it be known he didn't want to tour any more---so sad. It's great that we get to see them at the top of their form---when can we see more of their concerts? My only regret was the apalling lack of promotion for this great film. Our theatre was almost empty----something has to be done to get the word out otherwise the producers won't do it again. ...any way the wind blows.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Cons poorly promoted
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I missed this concert tour by a month. I spent the fall of 1986 in England in college. I didn't even know Queen had released It's a Kind of Magic or was touring. Sometimes I hate being in the USA. Especially when it comes to Queen, the news can be lacking. Anyway, I saw them in the winter of 82 @ Madison Square Garden and barely remember any of it. In this movie, toward the end there's a picture of the audience and there's a girl being very still with her mouth open and eyes wide. That was me in 1982! I have always been a Queen fan since I first heard "Best Friend" on WABC radio (am) out of NYC. I memorized the Wembley concert years ago and expected the same set list during this movie. The documentary, interviews, seeing it on the big screen and in 5.1 Dolby sound made it truly worth it. Freddie's rendition of "Who wants to Live Forever" was far superior to Wembley's version. Wish I could have been there.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The documentary and snip-ettes of the band made it cute and quirky. I'm sure most everyone who goes to sees this has seen the Wembley concert. Same set list, but it was great seeing the band on the big screen. as i always think when i hear Freddie, his lyrics are prophetic and it's as if he knew early in life that he was have an untimely death and become immortal.
John Deacon's shorts were killing me!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, great music
Yes, I recommend this movie.

As HUGE fans of Queen, my husband and I took our 11 year old daughter to see this. Our daughter is a true lover of all music so this is a great way for us to share music and events with her that came before her time and that she'll never have the opportunity to experience for herself. My husband and I loved it however, our daughter was a little disappointed. Because it was filmed in '86 the majority of the songs were ones she was not as familiar with. She's definitely an "old school" Queen fan...Bicycle, Fat Bottomed Girls and Don't Stop Me Now were the ones she missed the most. The concert was fantastic, you felt like you were in the front row of the actual concert, but we really enjoyed the documentary/interview portion as well. Other than the 3 of us, there were only 2 other guys in the whole theater. This was super disappointing in 1 respect...because if movies/events like this don't get more support then movie theaters will stop running them and that would be a shame because for some of us, like my daughter, other than their music this will be her only memory of Queen. However, in another respect...it was AWESOME because her and I stood up and danced and sang and clapped our hands and really had a great time with it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I have no complaint about the movie and it's content. Seeing this concert uninterrupted and on the big screen could have been awesome. Instead it was frustrating to be in the audience because the theater's sound system stunk. The volume was kept low and there was no surround sound. I get better sound quality when I watch this concert on YouTube. i spoke with a friend who saw it in Canada last night and she said it was exactly what I was hoping for in Edgewater, NJ
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Being a fan of the band queen since the original release of “A Night at the Opera,” but ending up primarily as a fan of everything up to and including Jazz, I was surprised by how much I loved this film. The set list includes many classic early Queen songs such as "Lap of The Gods" and "Seven Seas of Rhye" – totally unexpected – as well as the played-out hits that don’t even need mentioning. The band plays great and Freddie Mercury’s voice never falters. I especial enjoyed Brian May’s guitar work – he is truly one of the masters of the rock guitar, with a tone like no one else! The local Budapest film crew shot the concert using over a dozen cameras, and you can tell by the many angles they capture: each member of Queen gets LOTS of on screen time. When shown in Theaters, this film includes a 20 (?) minute documentary short on the activities leading up to the Budapest concert (the first time the band played in Hungary) and includes interviews with all members of Queen including the elusive John Deacon. A very fun and informative film especially when you have loved the band as long as I have.
Pros well paced, great story, excellent concert performance
Yes, I recommend this movie.
