I went to see this movie when it was a sneek preview. I hardly ever go to the movies but I wanted to see this one because I was a big fan of Secretariat and he really got me interested in horse racing. It was disapointing to me it was too much about the owner and her family.My wife loved the movie and I must admit most of the other people at this showing seemed to like it also. It did get appaluse at the end.I can't put it in the same class as Seabiscut and its a shame because I loved Secretariat. Just not the movie

One of the best movies I have seen in a while. The story-telling is well-paced and you get emotionally caught up in the events depicted even though you know the outcome. It is a moving tale of how determination and confidence in one's convictions can pay off. Diane Lane and John Malkovich were very convincing and superb. A must see for all ages.

I see a lot of movies in theaters, average one a week. So far in 2010, this is the only one where the audience applauded at the end. I am biased because I love horse racing and because I know why Secretariat is the greatest horse of all time. It isn't easy to make a great movie where a lot of the audience already knows the story. Diane Lane is awesome. Malkovich is perfect casting for entertainment. Excellent script and directing. Critics will complain it is too much like a Hallmark or Lifetime movie. Fine with me because it is actually a lot better than a good Hallmark or Lifetime movie. The movie about the greatest horse is now one of the greatest sports movies.

You know those movies that are so good the audience claps at the end? This is one of them. I was encouraged to see that Disney has put forth a truly uplifting story that you will love - whether you're a fan of horses or not. The movie isn't about the horse, it's about perserverence - digging deep inside and doing what you were MEANT to do with your life, no matter what the world stacks against you. It's a sentiment that resonates deep within everyone, especially these days. Kids will love it as will their parents and grandparents.

I abosolutly loved this movie. For one thing, the photography was amazing. You almost felt like you were the one sitting on the horse and racing. Even knowing how it was going to turn out as far as winning the triple crown, they made it suspensful, exciting and beautiful to watch. The audience was cheering out loud when it was all done. The cast was fabulous as well. Diane Lane is spectacular and John Malkovich is just magnificent. I will definitely see this movie again when released.

I actually watched Secretariat run the Triple crown races on TV and was so excited to see this incredible movie. It was so exciting and so accurate. He was indeed a once in a lifetime horse. I enjoyed learning about Penny Chenery and her determination to keep the horse and make sure the world would see what an incredible horse he was.

The whole family loved this movie. My 9 year old son said "it really got my adrenalin going even though I knew the story." We all felt that way. The story was inspirational, suspenseful and moving. Not the best movie ever but certainly a great family night out.

I took my 13 yr old daughter and her friends from the barn to see this movie and they loved it! I loved it as well - a great story, exciting moments, sad moments, but not overly sappy. Diane Lane is stupendous. I don't ride but appreciate horses for their intelect and beauty and this movie showcases both. Great cinematography!!!! Would see it over and over again.

Great family movie. Anyone who knows history knew he won, but the back story is really very interesting and not so readily known by as many people. Favorite scene was when he trained in the rain -- great shot. I would recommend this movie to anyone to go see and bring the entire family.

Enjoyed this movie, probably more than the average person that sees it, because I am trying (in vain, so far) to breed a race horse. The movie is fun, happy; makes you feel good. I have heard critisism that the movie doesn't accurately reflect the racing business but this is pure entertainment; a story to tell about the greatest horse to grace this earth and the people who loved him most.

For the most part I enjoyed Secretariat. I thought it dragged a bit in the first third of the movie, but the acting is excellent, particularly John Malkovitch. The horse racing scenes are exciting and even though the film suffers slightly from a lack of drama (as any film that chronicles well known, relatively recent events will), the film does a great job making its characters real and leaves the audience happy that they succeeded. This film is fine for kids, there is some very mild language, no violence, and good lessons about perseverance and staying strong with the ideals you believe in.

This was the best movie I have seen in a long time. It was a great story to tell, and for most people of my age, takes us back to an era where life was simpler, slower, and where in the course of a couple of months one horse got everyone's attention. The movie was very accurate on the look of The Meadow, particularly the shed in which Secretariat was born. Diane Lane and John Malcovich turned in stellar performances, and I think Diane Lane really captured the spirit and drive of Penny Chenery Tweedy. I will see it again, and I will add it to my video collection.

This is the best movie I have seen this year. The story is great and it is very interesting to learn the history behind the scenes. The theater I saw it in was a sneak preview and they stood and applauded at the end. It got a standing ovation!!!! Hello when was the last film you went to and the audience responded like that. GO SEE IT and tell your friends!

The perfet "popcorn and a movie" movie! Two hours of pure entertainment... one of the greatest stories ever told, great acting (you can't take your eyes off Diane Lane and John Malkovich is hilarious), and great costumes and sets and cars and happenings that really bring you back to the early 70s.You get totally drawn into the story and keep anticipating the next scene even tho you already know the remarkable ending. Go see it... you won't be disappointed.

This movie was very special to me because when I was a teenager my dad was able to take to me to see Secretariat after he was retired from racing and I was able to receive a private tour of him. He was so gentle and big. The movie horse played him very well. This movie brought back wonderful memories for me. It was the best movie I have ever seen. Thank you making this movie.

A truly great movie with all the right elements - fine cast, great photography and sound effects and superb settings. It is for all ages. Secretariat beautifully portrays Ms. Chenery's life, her love and respect for animals as well as an her determination to overcome obstacles to achieve her dream. I loved it (and so did everyone else in the theater). We applauded and cheered and left the theater with smiles on our faces!

Such a great feel-good movie. I was a huge fan of Secretariat and I have been on pins and needles since I heard there would be a movie. Penny Chenery Tweedy was also a great role model who proved you could be a true lady and still be strong and intelligent enough to make it in a man's world. I loved the movie overall, although I thought the calling of the Derby and Belmont (original footage was used for the Preakness) could have followed the original better. Overall I urge anyone to see it. He was magnificent, but he might have been ruined by a different owner and team. It has happened before. This film conveyed the entire picture well.
