Avatar contains a good story and, although its been told time and again over the years, Cameron tells it well. In my viewings people cried and laughed at most of the right places. People were talking about it on the way out of the theater a good sign.
The real impact of this film though is its use of 3D. It isn't the first, certainly not the most in your face. It does blend 3D with traditional cinematographic sensibilities very well to deliver a film you really can fall into and become a part of.
I miss my time on Pandora. I hope the now inevitable sequel makes me feel the same way.
I also look forward to seeing a host of other film experiences treated this way, so I can get lost in other worlds too.

this was a great movie in all acounts. it isn't too far fetched and lets your imagination carry you into it. it has a great concept that really makes you think, in the future, if its possible to discover another planet that has life that has something that would be in great value to us? it demonstrates the human race's character in the end by doing what is right, even if it means having to conquer great obstacle's. this is a film full of non-stop adventure and action unlike anything you've ever seen!

This movie is fantastic. It is like watching 5 moives in one. The graphics and computer generated images are spectacular and support/enhance the storylines. The story has several messages, which rang true for me and my family (varied age groups). It is encouraging to see technology used to support a balanced theme about choices, trade-offs, and potential life of future societies/planets, with a balance for GOOD. I highly recommend this movie and definately will see it againg.

Visually, this is the best movie I have ever seen. I personally have seen it twice in 3D and I think its the best way to see it. It has brought movies to a new technological level much in the way Star Wars did 30 years ago. The trailer claimed that it would "change the way we see movies" and it was absolutely correct. While the story is one that has been retold many times in different ways, (my friends have taken to calling it "Dances with Wolves IN SPACE") Avatar does have its unique moments and the characters are all well developed and interesting.

The ability to put this type of movie together must have taken a genius. Having said that, Mr Cameron must really hate the US Military. They were (except for four) portrayed as bloodthirsty wild eyed non thinking animalistic killers. The Avatar race were featured as the most noble of Western American Indians. Sorry folks, I couldn't and wouldn't give my money again to see Americans depicted in this light. I'm fearful of how Hollywood might portray the alqaida... as victims???So, save your money. Watch it on redbox for a $. The graphics are worth that.

Oustanding graphics, good plot, good morals, not for little kids due to some scenes, but ok for 10-12 and over. Some scenes are great but really intense for little ones. The people look so real and the flow is seem less. 3d adds a lot. would love to see in 180 degree theatre.

Saw this film in 3-D. The 3-D didn't compare to anything I had ever seen before. Story and action kept you wrapped up in the movie from the beginning. This movie was almost 3 hours and I would have watched it again right after it finished.

This movie fascinated me. The "race" portrayed by the Avatars was something the Human Race should try to emulate. The incredibly creative beauty of all the characters ion the special planet was beyond my expectations... The digital Computerization of the characters, scenery and sound is just pure genius. This movie was awesome! the graphics were taken to another level, it was just beautiful.. The plot did a good job about showing how humans really are, especially from events in the past it just goes to show that history repeats it's self. The movie had so many different elements to it.

Wow! This movie was the most beautiful piece of cinema I've seen since Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings! Not only did it have amazing effects and beautiful colors, it also had a great plot and made you fall in love with the "Na'vi" easily! Pandora is a world that I LOVE to live in. I've seen Avatar in 3D twice. Where you sit in the theater and which theater you choose makes a huge difference on the experience.
PepsiMax theater last night was phenomenal. Surround sound and film resolution were incredible. Compared to my first viewing which focused only on the story, which I feel is good, last night's show was the clear winner because I got the story and all the benefits of sights and sound that made me feel part of the action.

Good action and seamlessly smooth transitions to the "tech" side of the film. 3-D was a real plus. I will see it again at the theater as soon as this weekend. I am a die harder "Siggy" fan as well and her presence may have been the best part for me.

Go to this movie just for the visual effects...don't expect a great story line. I thought it was a story that has been done many times before, and better. It was an odd mix of adult violent war scenes with a predictable, childlike story.

This was probably the best 3D movie I have seen. You will truly feel transported to a new world. If nothing else the special effects are worth the price of admission. I did feel the movie could have been 20 minutes shorter, but it still moved quickly.
