This movie had a lot to live up for me because it had been so hyped up by everybody. So I went in expecting the most amazing thing I had ever seen. For the most part, it did not disappoint. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen visually. The only 1 bad thing I can say about the movie was that the plot was extremely predictable. I saw it in 3D. I wanted to go see it in Imax 3D but it was sold out for the day. It's worth the extra $ for the 3D. I can only imagine the Imax 3D would be even more amazing.

Avatar 3D has taken cinema into a new realm. I don't want to give away the plot line. This film seamlessly integrates computer generated images, actors, a 3D viewing environment of an alien world, within a story-line on par with Greek tragedy. A true struggle between good and evil, avarice and love. I would pay to see this movie multiple times, and I would pay more to see it, too.

Wow! James Cameron has set the bar for future CGI movies! The scenary was absolutely breathtaking, the action was exciting, and the storyline was good. Overall, an extremely entertaining movie. Overall it was a great movie. the special effects were amazing in 3d. However, about 2/3 of the way through I began to realize that the makers of the film were pushing a political agenda that I do not agree with. comments like " we will fight terror with terror" and forcing them out of their land with no regard for their lives was a little over the top. The fact that these guys were marines leaves the viewer with the impression that that is how our military operates when it goes in for an operation and I do not believe for the most part that is the way it works. If you can get past the pushing of the agendas of the liberal, biased filmakers, the movie is great and worth seeing on the big screen.

Great movie, and great graphics about a young man forced to do something he doesn't want to do by the government. He has been paralyzed prior to the movie and the ability to repair his paralysis is medically available but is being "rationed" by the government. The bureaucrats offer to arrange the treatment if he does their bidding- and so goes the struggle between right and wrong. You can only imagine how strong the temptation to submit to "the man" must be in these circumstances.

First and foremost this film should be seen by all for the breathtaking eyecandy. It is truly a major advancement in filmation. Second, creativity oozes from this film! The plot and cgi were seamed together beautifully. Even the storyline left me in a state of reflection. I loved it. My 9-year old is begging to see it again (although I did have to have a discussion about the few swear words). I can't wait to own the dvd!

Typical story but awesome presentation. This is truly the next level of graphics in movies. The scenes combining humans and aliens were absolutely realistic. 3D was a real plus, much better than I expected. The alien ecosystem was very realistic and was scientifically plausible. So often you look at a blockbuster movie and feel like the story is more of a vehicle for special effects as opposed to the effects being there to tell a story. While it is clear that the film is a showcase for the latest computer capabilities, it is masterfully done and the story is solid enough to work overall. This is a terrific movie and I can see how it cost $300m to make it. Wow.
