After I read the snobby critics' reviews I was hesitant to watch this movie in spite of having a great cast. Well, as usual, most of the bad reviews were not justified. I found the movie to be entertaining (if not a bit gory), the plot interesting and the acting solid. I went to this movie knowing that it was scifi, probably stretched the imagination a bit, and due to its "R" rating had a good amount of violence and sexual scenes. No, it was not a "Gone With The Wind", but nowadays what is?
Yes, I recommend this movie.

One of the best movies I seen this year. The acting was excellent, screenplay well written, and the direction was flawless. A very solid and heartwarming story that leaves you with a very good feeing afterwards.
