Beautiful, outstanding and believable movie. Did not want it to end. My husband liked it even more so. We thought about it the rest of the day. My husband and I would only wish for a sequel. Guess that would be difficult with Vanessa Redgrave passing away recently. But she could be replaced, too. I believe movies set in Tuscany have worldwide appeal anyway. When a new scene would appear I heard the audience sigh or take a deep breathe. ONE REALLY NICE THING WAS THE MOVIE WAS PERFECTLY CAST AND UNIQUE.

Movie was cute, but I don't recommend spending the money to see it in the theaters. The plot was very predictable and there was a disappointing lack of character development which was surprising despite the genre. The scenery was gorgeous, but it wasn't enough to make this movie anything but a trite romantic comedy with a beautiful backdrop.

Letters to Juliet is a romantic comedy set in Italy with great scenery and interesting story line. Redgrave is great in her role as is Amanda Seyfried. Story or story in story suffers form being too predictable in its outcomes and sugar coating the ending. Could have been a great movie if the director ended it with a repeat of the central story with the two newly found lovers - at least it could have had a bit a real life. In the film, the ending was all too predictable and, without a twist, left no surprises. Story suffers at times from failing ot capture the spark or fire that grows between Seyfried and Egan. Pieces are there, but is unconvincing, even in the end. I give a solid good watch (3*) and fun flick, but it fails to be a great movie. It is frustrating since the potential is there to have been a great movie with better directing and being less set on the happy ending.
