Very good movie, Deep and touching. Made me happy and sad. Monique should definitely get a oscar nod for this one! But left me wanting more about how she was able to move on past the pain and abuse and her children, still loved it. Didnt like the ending.

This movie made me laugh, cry, & remember to give thanks for my wonderful parents. It also reminded me of all the things that I have been blessed with that I take for granted on a daily basis. We should be mindful of how we treat others you NEVER know what they are going through. I was so happy to see Precious "push" through the horrble things that happened in her life. This is a great movie, I just wish we could have seen more of her triumph. The ending left me wanting to see more.

Obviously, Tyler has a talent in plays. Obviously he has a great comedy giving gift, but transferring into films and drama, he is still undeveloped. Just like we had to wait for Monique to show she really does has range (which she finally does in this film). We have to wait for Tyler to put a production together, that doesnt still leave you in suspense after the movie. In addition, a horrible ending. Events that happens in the movie should not be unanswered. The storyline was good. The plot was so so. But these are still new people mistakes, so not bad considering the experience.

Hope, life & love begin to bubble up through the thick miry mud of existence that Precious was born into in the last act of the movie. There is an amazing grace & joy in the small successes that Precious finally begins tasting in her life. It reminds me of the visual amazement one can feel when you see a craggy rock wall and in the middle of that vertical expanse of seemingly solid stone you notice a single tree growing vibrantly, even tho there is nothing at all there to support it, and it's leaves and branches are growing and reaching for the sun...aching for life in spite of it's circumstance. Life sprouting upward through the crust and rock trying to "stop it". A great accomplishment of a movie. Give Mo'Nique the Oscar!

While my feelings overall regarding this movie may be mixed in terms of content, I will not take away from the fact that the actors/actresses were outstanding in their roles. The movie was a good movie but should have been more in dept with the outcome of Precious's life e.g. It would have been more realistic if the social worker would have given Precious her daughter back as a means of saying good job for your hard work and determination it paid off and you deserve it all. Also, I would like to have seen her graduate from HS at least and then finally become this aspiring actress that she longed dreamed of and fantasized about and lastly, her mom sent straight to jail.

I did not enjoy this move because it was somewhat hard to follow. Precious escaped reality quite a bit. Which, made the move hard to follow. Monique was not acting she was being who she is raw. I don't know the teachers name, but she deserves an award. This movie had to many different stories.

I compare this movie to "The Passion of the Christ" , in that, although gruesome, it revealed the price one would pay to help save others. Like in the passion of the Christ, there were some parts I had to watch through hands cupped over my face. To see such an innocent human suffering at the hands of others was difficult to believe. But it happened and it's happening everyday. Maybe this movie will cause others to take the stand that Precious did and fight back. I pray that it will let others in her situation know that it was not their fault and that they are dealing with SICK PEOPLE, and that it's NOT NORMAL!!!

it was a good movie.. but then again it was so sad and depressing.. and the end wasn't something to get really excited over.. It not like one of those sad movies like the Pursuit of Happiness with Will Smith where even though its sad in the end it makes you Happy/cry tears of joy.. This was a great movie for a reality check for me. I realized that this is happening on a daily basis to many people. Even some that we know and the abused child or adult does not speak up.
