Grown Ups was a great movie if you want a good laugh. I had not seen a comedy where it was non stop laughter. It is suggestive therefore I would not recommend for younger than 13. There was a message in the movie beyond the laughter and the silliest, that we are too rapped up in technology and work and forgetting about spending quality time with family.

I had not been to a movie in 6 months and basically chose this one merely because I didn't see anything else I was in the mood to see. I do love all these actors from their previous work. It has it's predictable moments and I would suggest people save their money for the DVD to come out. I'll just call it "cute" and leave it at that.

This is a great family movie, you dont have to worry about dirty language. Some of the suggestive stuff was mostly subtle and the kids didnt even pick up on it. Loved the story line and the cast was great as usual, This movie makes you want to rent a lake house with the family & old friends and get down to some "Old school" fun!!!

I am a big Adam Sandler fan but his lastest movies have been stinkers. With this cast I figured it would be a can't miss comedy. I was wrong. There were a few funny lines, but for the most part it was very cheesy. Chris Rock is a great comedian, but he wasn't given a chance to be funny. It could have been alot funnier if it were an R-rated, crude humor film. It is too edgy for family entertainment, but too lame for Sandler, Rock, Spade fans. Its a renter for sure.

With a cast of comic heavy weights that "Grown Ups" had, it did fall a bit short for me, but as a family friendly comedy with a good message...it did delivery in many ways. David Spade's character saved the flick for me & created more adult humor, but to the point of making it too much younger viewers. Adam Sandler is growing as a man and actor, which showed in this movie where his character longs to bring his family around to see the importance of the close family/friend childhood he had growing up. The one disappointing aspect of this movie was Chris Rock... his character was a weak joke and Rock's perfromance seemed to show he felt the same way.

My husband, daughter, and myself went to see this movie. My husband and daughter thought it wasn't going to be any good, but went because I wanted to watch it. I've never cared for Adam Sandler but have always been surprised at how much I enjoy his movies. Unfortunately this one did not meet that expectation. With such a great cast of comedians the movie was not nearly as funny as I thought it would be. Everyone seemed to take turns getting a punch line in - too scripted, too timed. The plot of the movie was not very clear- what was the point? Just a bunch of families coming together after a funeral and having fun for a few days....uh - not very exciting. There was no hype about the "big game" or anything else..everything just seemed to happen. I was so glad when the movie was over - I really didn't want to be rude or waste my money by leaving early. I also kept hoping it might turn around and get funnier/better.

I have never been an Adam Sandler fan, having even walked out of "Punch Drunk Love," but I have to admit this was a decent comedy that entertained me throughout. The premise is simple, but the message is important. Sometimes families need to slow down and stop to realize what's important in life. Funny, funny, funny....laughed the whole movie, but there really wasn't plot. No major climax at the end of the movie, but definitely something that we will be getting on DVD just because it was so fun.
