A twisted plot that comes together in the end. The performances by the entire cast was excellent. The plot grabbed you and wouldn't let you go until the very end. And the very end, well I don't want to ruin it for the ones that haven't seen it but it leaves it open for a sequel. Leo's tortured character leaves no doubt the he is one of the finest actors of his generation.

Modern audiences can thank the increasingly complex narrative structures of television shows like 24 and Lost for a starter manual for absorbing this much conceptual content in only 148 minutes. We can also thank movies like The Matrix and Frequency for helping prepare us for this kind of a narrative within a narrative.
There are plenty of reasons to like Inception, whether you found it obvious or impenetrable. One big one: I haven’t seen a movie in forever where I boggled “how did they DO that?” especially not one where I did it more than once. Remember that feeling? Especially back in the nascent CGI days where less was more? Joseph Gordon-Leavitt is in a number of these scenes. I really appreciated that even in the dream universe, you still have to obey the laws of physics. You can’t just walk on water or blow things up with your mind, you have to plug the leak with a cork and push the button to make the thing work. And oh my goodness, the stunts, the wonderful stunts!
The intimate nature of the work that this team does is echoed by how close we all feel being drawn in to their worlds – when everyone is unplugged again, you feel a little thrown into the awkward cold like a tentative greeting of a long-ago acquaintance. You’ll wish you could dream as lucidly as this, but be grateful here you have Nolan as your tour guide.

The special effects are incredible and there is not a detail missed. Make sure you use the restroom and get your popcorn before the movie begins, because if you miss any of this movie, you will be lost.
As the movie unfolds, you find yourself in many levels of the dream state. The Writer and Director has done a fantastic job of bringing you into these levels, and going back and forth between them. You find that a minute in a dream state is an hour in the actual dream, and as you go deeper into the different levels of the dream state it can become 50 years for one minute. Truly a fascinating concept.
If you like movies that keep you on your toes and thinking, this is a masterpiece! I give it a A+... One of the best movies I have ever seen!

This is definitely a thinking person's sci fi thriller, but the constant and unstoppable gun battles and violence overcome the subtleties of the premise. There is just too much going on here at any one time.
I have no problem with suspending reality, but there needs to be some internal consistency of logic or other basis for believing the premise. Either I missed it, or there was never an effort to explain how the characters can go in and out of others' dreams as they do.
Special effects and acting are great, and ii does make one think afterward which is a good test of a good movie.

Inception isn't exactly surreal, but it feels that way, with all its layers of action and non-sequitur switches from one scene to another. I was mostly bewildered, in spite of paying really close attention to every clue, every scrap of information the film makers provided. I do think you have to see this more than once to follow what's happening. It's a classy movie, well acted; Leo is very good, a mature actor now with great skill. Ellen Page's role was pretty thankless--her character is there chiefly to explain the mechanism that drives the plot--but she's a talented lady, and the remaining cast were fine, though Ken Watanabe's speech is hard to understand. The story raises ethical, even moral, issues that no one pays attention to; in that regard, it has an underlying sleaziness.
Inception is a strange mix of special effects and standard action fare: car chases and crashes, shoot-outs, fistfights, spectacular explosions, collapsing buildings, zero-gravity sequences. Parts of it feel like Mission Impossible stunts, and other parts look lifted from Casino Royale, the James Bond flick where the house on the Grand Canal comes down. Some people in the theater applauded at the end. Inception will likely appeal to the crowd who went for The Matrix, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Minority Report, Memento, and Donnie Darko.

Run of the mill action movie with lots of shooting and car chases. I was hoping for something a little more intellectual and mind-bending, considering the source and the subject matter. Still, it was well executed if a bit humdrum.

After both Batman movies, it seems that director Christopher Nolan can do no wrong. And I think he continues with Inception! It is a fantastic voyage into the depths of the dreaming mind, and how industrial espionage has risen to the level of actually stealing secrets from the dreamer. Nolan creates a world with vivid imagery with great special effects that help drive the story, taught drama, and great characters caught in the web of their shared dreams and subconsciousness'. It taunts the viewer with reality bending questions, and unsettling ideas. The movie grabs you, and doesn't let go until the very very end. Which, fyi, is not your typical Hollywood ending! YAY!! Leo is great as the team leader with a troubled mind, Gordon-Levitt is also good, and Watanabe is great as usual. Some felt that Ellen Paige was a wee bit odd in this movie, feeling too young, in age and skill, amongst the other cast. Myself and my friends went back and forth on this afterwards. And maybe that's the point! At last, a movie that is complicated, and doesn't spell everything out for you. You, the audience, might actually have to do a little work yourself! I have always thought that the sign of a great movie is if you keep talking about it afterwards. And the next day, I am still talking about it! Go See It! Pay attention. See if you can work out the puzzle of Inception.

The script was well written and the concept was out of the box, as well as, intriguing with all the layers that follow the psychological dynamics of the defenses. I would see it again to determine if the minor holes I see in the script are really there or I missed a piece. For instance, how does she send a letter if she is in a dream state?
The acting supported the script by one and all and it was immensely enjoyable.
