For one, ALL movies should be in IMAX. There's simply no substitute. Regular 3D stinks. 2D stinks. IMAX is amazing.
My 6 yr old was on the edge of his seat most of the movie, and he thought it was awesome. M daughter is a big younger, but she stayed awake the whole time and said she liked it, but I can tell it may appeal to boys moreso than girls.
There are a few adult oriented laughs in there, but all in all, go see it.

My hubby & I are huge animation fans. We saw it in IMAX 3D yesterday & loved it! The clarity, especially the effects of the water, were amazing. I could see this over & over & as is usually the case with a really good animated movie, will likely do so. Even kids were quiet during the movie, they were so mesmerized, except for one youngster that went "wow" during a particulary cool scene.

loved the effects, story was ok. I was not prepared for how frightening the early dragon scenes were. The poster of the boy riding his friendly dragon mislead me to bring my 3 year old neice along with her older sibs (who loved it) i would recommend this for anyone over 6. My kids really liked the movie with the animation, characters , the only thing that seemed off was that the 3D certain parts of the movie did not pop off the screen it did have plenty of chances though maybe it was the theater we watched it at all in all recommend family's to go see it

Loved this movie. The development of the relationship between Hiccup and Toothless was great to see. This is a movie not to be missed. It's a great story, the visuals are simply gorgeous (I saw it in IMAX 3D, highly recommended if you've got an IMAX theatre nearby), and the story is wonderfully entertaining. It's fine for children 5 and up (might be a tad scary for those younger) and lots of fun for the grownups, too--there are some real vocal talents (Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferera.) I had fun figuring out whose voice was whose!

The whole family saw this movie at an IMAX theatre in 3D. Wow, what a wonderful and exciting movie it was. We couldn't stop talking about it afterwards. I am an adult and truley can say I would see it again and enjoy it just as much. My kids loved the story and really enjoyed the dragons. Great for the imagination.

Movie was adorable. IMAX 3D Amazing! Great story with lovable characters. Moral lesson firmly in place. Loved the dragons. Special effects amazing!

A++, we upgraded to I-MAX 3D and haven't regretted a minute of it :) Take the whole family to this one, our son is 3 and this was his first theater experience(LOVED IT). I will own this movie as soon as it hits retail. Only drawback was they reuse IMAX glasses.....bring an alcohol wipe :(
