The best movie I have ever seen. It has everything you want in the movie. Everything you wanted to happen, happened. I loved how the movie just keep peaking and peaking right down to the end. Its rare that a movie gets better and better as it goes, and for a movie this long to keep you on the edge all the way to the end is brilliant! Great movie!!!!!

This was a great experience. It was my first IMAX 3D movie and i wasn't sure how much the 3D would enhance the movie. It was unbelievable. I felt like I was looking at the future. The 3D made a huge impact on the movie and truly transformed it from just a movie to an exciting experience.
Make sure you see this movie in IMAX 3D!!!

Whether you love it or hate, it's up to you, but it sure is groundbreaking. Reminds me of when I first saw "Star Wars" when I was a kid. Also reminds me of "Jurassic Park". The story is cliche, but at least it does not have huge gaping holes in it like "Star Trek". This is the first film I saw in 3D that was actually directed with 3D in mind - it does not just have a couple of those cheesy "comin' at ya!" moments.

Have you ever sat through a 2 hr 40min movie and hoped that there was still a lot of time left, because you didn't want it to end? Me neither-- until I saw Avatar. The world is beyond beautiful, the story so captivating, that you wish you could stay just a little longer. That's saying a lot, especially coming from a self-proclaimed disliker of action movies. I would go back and watch it again, and certainly recommend it in IMAX 3D.

Hands down the best movie experience I have ever had. I agree that the plot was reused but seriously - you won't even notice until you get home. The effects are awesome and Pandora is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. You have to see this movie at the IMAX in 3D - I promise you will never forget it.

This is a great movie for someone interested in the technology that went into making the movie (e.g. CGI) and desiring a different and fun movie watching experience.
For me the plot was too close to current political parallels and Pocahontas to get fully immersed and therefore it really felt like a 160 min long movie (too long).
The effects pushed it from a 3 star to 4 star for me.

I had no draw to this movie "At ALL"! The trailers didn't pull me, the ads didn't do it for me, it just didn't grab my attention enough to "wanna" go see it. But I wanted to see "Armoured Car" and spend some time with my husband, but iit wasn't showing at that particular time of day, but Avatar was so there we went and it WOWED me! It saw it at the Stafford-Loews in real D 3D, then yesterday, took my 25 yr old, daughter and grandson to see it in Imax 3D! It was wonder-filled! I was toltally amazed and entertained by the plot ans the cinematography! Great movie! Great Job!

Ok Mr. Cameron, I get it! Humans rob and pillage Mother Gaia. Ferngully rises again in wide screen 3D and motion capture. I give the story line a C.
But what 3D it is. We have had the technology of stereoscopic polarized lenses for a while now, but nothing previous to this production took their time with it, and used it to push cinematographic grandeur. Most films just threw things from the screen at you. An A+ for cinematography and attention to detail.
Acting went from weak to over the top with the fun exception of Michelle Rodriguez. How many actors can make you laugh just through the proper delivery of the line, "Oops" after she pours rounds into the ship of her antagonist.

The story line, message, animation, and 3D experience were awesome. I took my 8 yr old. She loved the movie. We did have a post-movie debrief regarding the use of foul language, but other than that, a highly riveting experience for parents and older children.

A must-see IMAX 3D experience! Everyone says to forget the plot and enjoy the visuals; I say enjoy the plot as well...lots of subtle events that you should take the time to contemplate and enjoy. The not-so-subtle politics and not-so-hidden meanings are unavoidable, but still it is an enjoyable experience. Don't know why Cameron insisted on having Sigourney Weaver be a chain smoker - it added nothing to the film - but adequate performances and great visuals make this a can't miss movie. DON'T wait for the DVD!

If you are looking for a new creative plot look somewhere else. Avatar takes on the same plot as Samurai with Tom Curise. But you can't deny that it is still a good movie with excellent eye candy!

Some times life can get to stressful and you need to just get away, well my wife and I did that last night for the first time since we get married over three years ago we went to the moves and what a movie we saw Avatar. Avatar has everything that one need to get away.

This movie did not disappoint me in any way. I am still confused why people are wanting to commit suicide and develope depression after viewing this. Its not that serious. i would definitely go see it again. In some scenes, it seemed as though objects were coming out from behind you. A++

This movie has to be seen in IMAX 3D to really appreciate the way it has been created for this screen. Every frame is crafted for a maximum visual effect. The computer generated characters come to life and you actually begin to care about them as if they were human. The world Cameron creates rivals such classics as Blade Runner or Indiana Jones. You get totally transported into this movie. This gives everyone another reason to go to the movies instead of staying home.

this movie is lovely and a must see in iMAX 3D. I always thought 3D was awful but Avatar clearly shows what can be done with a good story and awesome technology. Attention should also be paid to Sam Worthington's & the always excellent Sigourney Weaver's performance. If this is the kind of work James Cameron produces on his own studios should just give him money and let him be.

I can't imagine saying anything about this movie that someone else hasn't already said. Bottom line, it is a beautifully crafted film with deep-rooted messages of peace and closeness to God and each other. The 3d effects here aren't the cheezy "throw things at the audience" of old. Instead, it creates a depth of field that puts you in the movie; you are there, you feel connected to the characters, share their feelings, get totally involved in a way that never happens in a normal flat screen showing. My daughter, who hates SciFi movies, went with her husband because he wanted to see it; she came away saying "most awesome movie I've ever seen". This was my second viewing, and I'm planning to go again next week for a third time!

You must see Avatar in 3D! I am recommending this movie to everyone. The special effects and graphics are incredible! At times it will give you the personal feeling of movement with the action on the screen! The underlying theme of protecting the envirornment was an unexpected bonus. Plot is similar to "Dances with Wolves". Excellent movie! Avatar sets the bar high for all movies to follow!
