This movie made me really sad. I am a 39 year old male and I actually had to keep tears at bay while watching it. I wasn't alone. People sitting next to me also had the same look in their eyes. I am not even a nature lover, more of an admirer. But this movie deeply affected me more than any other movie for a long time. Kudos to Cameron for being able to stir such emotion from something that was created from the imagination. It left myself wondering with irony, why did I seem to care more about this alien race and their planet more than my own?

The only con was I wish the fighting wasn't against OUR military.
A must see at the theater in 3D.

Saw this movie at the IMAX 3D and the special effects blew me away. Can't imagine watching on any other venue. Unfortunately, I've seen this story many times before, it was nothing more than "Dances with Wolves" in outer space. Will recommend for special effects only.

Usually I rebel against the over hyped movies...but I completely recommend spending the extra bucks to see this film in 3D IMAX. I found myself getting so totally visually immersed in the film that I could almost forget that I was sitting in a theater! Loved it.

Avatar is fabulous movie. The visual effects are awesome. The best parts were when Jack learns to fly. In my opinion not recommended for kids under 8.

An awe inspiring movie experience in 3D/IMAX...I think this movie has the potential to create some cultural shifting by raising more awareness of the greediness and recklessness in searching for and grasping for the almightly dollar at little or no concern for the gift of Earth that we are only temporarily inhabiting as humans.
The beauty of this movie is astounding.

I loved this movie, nothing I have EVER seen before.... Only would I recommend not sitting near the fron of the theatre but sit more in the last part of the middle section, in the center.. :)

The only drawback is that I felt little bit dizzy when watching the IMAX version and I needed to remove my 3d glass from time to time to avoid the dizziness.

I saw Avatar first in 2 dimension. I fell in love with the story and the beauty of the people and their planet. Because I wanted to see if the two dimension viewing could be improved on, I went to the IMax 3D. It was fabulous. Two hours and forty minutes flew by. I was never bored at the second viewing because 3D brought out minute details missed in the 2D. I recommend every one of any age see this movie. They won't be disappointed!

James Cameron has, once again, astounded us with 'larger-than-life,' imaginative, beautiful direction and cinematography. The storyline is powerful, spiritual, & globally significant, and the attention to detail is nearly flawless. I'm sure it's an amazing experience on any large screen, but the visual precision and clarity (not to mention superb sound) that IMAX offers cannot be matched. You will kick yourself over and over if you "just wait for it to come out on video."

The movie was non-stop action, very engaging, and filled with surprises. Personally, I did not even know that I was sitting there for 2 and 1/2 hrs.
The story plot kept me so interested, that honestly, I wish it did not end. I am planning on seeing it again.
I would recommend seeing it on an IMAX 3D. There is nothing like the experience you will received from this movie.

Although I have seen several IMAX films, they were all documentary types at museums. AVATAR seems custom made for this format. The plot/storyline were a little lame - think Fern Gully - but you hardly noticed, because the visuals are amazing!!! I spent the entire 2.5 hours completely still in my seat, fully immersed in Avatar's world. I can't say enough about the IMAX 3D. I have never had a movie experience this good. This is not a movie to wait for the DVD release. See Avatar in IMAX today!

Avatar is probably one going to be an epic films mainly due to the creative imagination of one man. The plot of the movies I believe was wonderful it shows how greedy people really can be. The film shows us how much we hurt others just to get what we feel is best for us and no one else. The actors and actresses are wonderful couldn't of asked for any better people to play the parts. This was the most amazing movie experience I've ever had. The movie itself, the effects, the story, everything was just amazing. I wish I hadn't waited to see it but I'm so glad that I did. IMAX 3D is the only way to see this movie and is definitely worth it.

Community. Love. Loyalty. Stewardship of the nature. Peaceful coexistence. All these themes are juxtaposed brilliantly with cold, corporate greed. And the visuals. Oh my. I felt like I was in the forest with the Na"vi people. Completely worth it to see this one in Imax 3D if you can. Bravo James Cameron.

Avatar is the first of a new era in film making. I'm not sure what this will mean to the acting profession but the ability of the computer animation to become "real" in this movie is a phenomenal. Unfortunately for me it means another IMAX ticket for a second viewing!

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and so glad I saw it in IMAX 3D. This made a huge difference over regular movies and hope that all movies eventually go to this great format. The movie itself had an interesting storyline during which I found myself emersed into the story. Basically the strong trying to take from the weak without any concern for them. Look forward to the sequel.

I saw this movie in IMAX 3D- really the only way to see it - otherwise don't bother - and the special effects were amazing!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing more movies come out with this technology in the future. It's sort of a shame that they wasted these amazing special effects and the beautiful scenery on such an awful plot. The script was awful. The whole plot premise might have worked if it wasn't so marginalized. It was sort of like Dances with Wolves but make the Indians blue creatures with tails with a creepy allusion to beastiality and a very strange alien human love thing going on. I could go on and on, but I already wasted 4 hours of my life.

My wife and I had already seen this movie at a much smallrt and older theater. We knew we had to see this in IMAX 3D and we were not disappointed! We brought my wife's brother and his wife and they were blown away. It was their first IMAX AND 3D movie and they now want to see evey movie in IMAX. The imagination and detail in this movie is beyond decription. Cameron is a very gifted man. ANYBODY who has not seen Avatar or has seen it on a regular screen, GO TO IMAX!!!! It is worth evey penny to see it in this format. Avatar is incredible!

I saw the movie yesterday in 3D, so I paid some extra dollars, my advice to you is that "Do not paid more to see it in 3D “does not worth it, the movie does not have any third dimension effect, now the movie has beautiful colors, they put a lot of thinking because the movie is well done, so trusts me go and watch it normal not on 3D.

A beautifully rendered cautionary tale, wonderfully imagined by Cameron and technically beyond anything we've seen yet on screen. It captures your spirit and takes you to a world that could be possible. The characters, even tho portrayed as "different," make you care about them as if they were one of our own and you find yourself rooting for this wondrous interconnected world which, after all, IS our own.
