If you want to see the next level of Hi-Tech movie making, then definately see this movie, but make sure to see it in 3-D IMAX. Otherwise, you will be seeing it mainly for the plot, and that may not be worth it. Its way too much "noble savage meets white man hero" for my taste, and I was sorry that the creative vision of the new world didn't come close to matching the creative vision of the technology. All that said, its was a nice tribute to Sigourney Weaver's contributions to Sci-Fi.

The first word that comes to mind after viewing this movie... "Amazing". A definite must see. This movie is an absolutely visually stunning. The characters, plot and environment were extremely well developed. This is a movie that needs to be seen everyone. If you do not see this movie in the theater then you must definitely buy it when it becomes available on blu-ray and dvd.

Great strory, incredible animations this movie is a must see for anyone seeking an adventure in the future. From the start you are pulled in and as the movie continues it only gets better. It has everything one could want; adventure,action,drama,romance,beauty and an awesome soundtrack. I've seen it twice so far, and each time I still get excited and want more.In 3D it feels like you on Pandora wanting to swat the bugs flying around! Even without 3D it's still and amazing film! 5/5 and will have to see it again!

Someone else mentioned how amazing the movie making tech is, but how it never got in the way of the story. So true. And I know the clock says it was long, but it didn't feel long to me at all. My only complaint is that it's still so darned popular that the fam couldn't all sit together -- get there early to get a good seat!

While the plot was predictable, it really wasn't a detriment to the overall product. A vast new world, created to dazzle the senses and lure us emotionally into the high stakes showdown. I found myself lost in the storyline and the incredible environment James Cameron created. The 3D experience was amazing. I highly recommend this movie.

Second time seeing it, first time on IMAX (saw RealD before) - IMAX is worth it because of the sound system alone! Made the experience even more powerful. I didn't see a great deal of difference visually between IMAX and RealD, but the size of the screen was impressive. A great movie, technically brilliant, and Cameron has created a rich, stunning world that is as impressive (if not more so) than anything that has gone before (Lucas, I'm looking at you!) I'm ready to see it again!

A must watch movie in real IMAX 3D.. I have already seen it 3 times. Two times in theatres with IMAX experience and once in real IMAX 3D. I would recommend to watch in real IMAX. You can just live in Pandora for a couple of hours..

I saw this movie in 3D IMAX and recommend that every one see it that way. If nothing else see it on big screen to get the full effect.
The storyline is an old and predictable one. But, having said that, the way it is told is fresh and new. One can't even tell where real and animated changes. It all looks and feels real. Nothing seems too farfetched or fake.
A must see movie.

Story is same old. Treatment is also the same old tested way. The movie is excellent because of one man's imagination of a new world called "Pandora" and the living beings in there. You have to see the movie in imax just for the spellbinding view. I would recommend anyone to watch it!

I really enjoyed this movie. from the story line and the initial idea right dawn to the technology and the 3D experience. I watched it by recommendations of two other people and I deffenetly recomment this to my friends.

2 hours and 40 minutes seemed like nothing. What an amazing technological accomplishment, especially as the technology never gets in the way of the storytelling. This is the next generation of movie-going experiences, akin to how it felt seeing Star Wars in the theater in 1977.

This was my first time seeing any movie in IMAX 3-D. It was such a great experience. The movie is excellent! Go See It!!! Also, I am over six feet tall and the extra leg room was just a huge bonus for me.

This was the second time to see Avatar . First was in Real 3D, which was awesome, but IMAX 3D was even better. It felt more like I was in that world.
I felt glad to be back in that peaceful, beautiful world. Also, picked up some details I missed the first time.
This movie shows the "oneness" or connectivy we all should feel with our own Mother Earth. I hope Cameron does make sequels, as I would like to learn more about the Tree of Souls and that world.

I was finally "Avatared" and I'm in awe!
From the beginning, the simple story grabbed me and the 3d visuals propelled me into a different world. I've always empathized with the plight of the Native Americans who were displaced from their beloved land when a supposed more civilized nation claimed themselves superior and entitled to a land that was not theirs and I believe Cameron does too because the script felt like a a hint at that. The world of Pandora is simply magical and as a spiritual person I really "got" all the references to Eyva, the Pandorian deity who is the connection between all things.
Imax 3d is definitely the way to go but sit about 2/3rd from the front for the best experience.
