this movie is absolutely beautiful. the story line is predictable and not too complex, but it is good enough to keep you hooked. i think the story was just a background and the main event was the look and feel of the movie. the whole way through it was visually stunning and some scnenes were so amazing my jaw dropped. the message is also great. i heard it compared to fern gully, which, yeah, it kind of is a lot like fern gully, but i think the message needs to be heard. overall, i dont think youve lived until you experience this movie in 3d at imax.

Went two weeks in a row and was more excited to see it the second time to catch a little more of the details that are so thoughtfully weaved in to this movie - I went with a group of 15 the first time and a group of 8 the second time and not one person has said they weren't fully satisfied!!!!!!! Wonderful, wonderful movie!!

The story line is kinda familiar, however the graphics and action scenes made up for lack of content. The Imax experience is a must. I can not wait for this to come out on DVD or Blue-ray

Right out of the gate this movie is a visual treat that only gets better as the movie goes along. It quickly grabs you and immerses you into a world full of fanciful creatures and beautiful landscapes. Throw on top of that a well written storyline and cast and you have what has to be one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
There are political undertones to the movie that can be a bit disturbing to some movie goers but can easily be ignored. The level of violence in the movie can be a bit strong and I would not recommend this movie for children under 13, thus the reason it got a PG-13 rating.

This movie had great nature scenes, lots of great creatures but was way too violent. It was marketed to kids through fast food and toys but didn't hold back with massive amounts of killings and profanity.
Overall very disappointing.

This was a great movie for its special effects and story. The "hit-you-over-the-head" political messages in the movie were somewhat insulting. The acting was good, and this is the best 3D movie ever created. Definitely see it on 3D-IMAX if you can.

Absolutely amazing, fantastic, thrilling, hold-your-breath on the edge of your seat story. I waited to see this movie in Imax 3D and failed at seeing it three different occasions, but the wait was totally worth it. and also worth the 15$ ticket.

A must see for all ages from 15 to 100. Would be just as good without the 3-D effects. Watched this at I-MAX and will try to see it again. Very good story line. Wife enjoyed it also and she doesn't like Si-Fi.

Even though I found it hard to believe J Cameron could possibly outdo "Titanic", I truly believe this one comes Verrry close. The CG was phenomenal and very unexpected coming from Cameron.
Although I felt he could have worked a bit more on the soundtrack (sounds a little like 'My heart will go on' All in all it was a great experience and refreshing to actually enjoy going to the Movies again.

If you like science fiction and great special effects this is a must see on Imax 3D!! 2 hours and 40 minutes was over way to fast. I have never been drawn into a movie like I was this one. It now rates as my all time most favorite movie and I have seen a lot of them.

This was a fantastic movie! The plot was great, the cast was excellent, and the special effects were literally out of this world. I definitely recommend seeing it on IMAX in 3-D. It is worth the extra expense.

Don't get hung up on the plot; however, the effects are outstanding. Recommend you see this in 3D IMAX for the full experience. I don't believe Firewheel Garland IMAX is a "full" IMAX.

I saw the complete trilogy of Lord of the Rings and felt that it would be unmatched. Well I was seriously wrong. Avatar was an amazing movie. The awe in the IMAX 3-D was a wonder. The beauty, the struggle, the sadness, the wonder, the simple amazement was a pleasure to watch on screen. Even though the movie was almost three hours, I could of sat longer. My little boy was amazed and fully entrenched with the plot and beauty of the movie. It kept his attention for the entire movie, so wow what a movie. Great job James Cameron, what an imagination. Can't wait for more! If there is a sequel, we will be there to partake in the amazement..

See thisin the biggest 3d-est theatre you can find. Who cares if the story has been done before a zillion times (Dances With Wolves, Pochahantas, to name a couple) - you go to see it . quite literally.
The IMAx I saw it in was vey comfy - but the interruption at the end as credits were just getting rolling to tell us how to leave very annoying.
Doubt that I was the target audience (late middle age female) - but its a must see.

Both my husband and I thought independently while watching the movie....wow, how can we go back to watching a traditional 2D movie after seeing this! Plot dragged on a bit, but the 3D special effects were the best ever! It probably could have been a movie about anything...the graphics were mesmerizing just by itself.

Just when you think going to the movies is a waste of time and money, Hollywood surprises you with something like this. You expect most of the picture to be traditional 2D with a sprinkling of 3D effects here and there. Not so with "Avatar 3D". This is a thrilling, 100% 3-dimensional experience, right down to the most minute pixels and whispers. The plot sagged a bit towards the end, and the underlying messages became tedious, but with those jaw-dropping sights and sounds one can tolerate an average storyline.
HOWEVER - it appears that Cinemagic is in the habit of over-selling shows. "Avatar 3D" was so good it might have been worth another look, but I didn't pay $15 per ticket to sit in a kitchen chair for three hours.

Watching this movie in IMAX 3D theater is an unforgetable experience for me. I love everything in this movie, was touched by the beauty, spirit, sadness...Feeling so good to have a director like James Cameron to make us such wonderful movies to enjoy, remember and reflect. The extent of the graphics is incredible. Creating an entire world and making it belivable to us is byfar the best thing that Cameron has ever done. The movie story was similar to may others that i have seen, but seeing it with this new technology re-invigorates my passion for movie making, This movie is great and i strongly recommend that you see this in IMAX. Its worth the extra 8 bucks, I guarantee it!!!

I watched Avatar 3D with my husband and only 8 year old son James on Saturday.
At first, I was about my son because of his first experience of 3 D movie.
Even he is wearing of his glasses already and has to wear another 3D glasses.
But it turned out my shallow concern.
He enjoyed very much and absolutely me and my hus.
It's very FANTASTIC AND BEAUTIFUL!!!!
AMASING ANOTHER WORLD!!!!
