Very entertaining and visually spectacular film. Only gave four stars though because some elements of the story and love story were a bit cheesy and predictable. People should definitely see it in 3D.

Story was predictable -- it's been done many times before. That having been said, from a visual standpoint, the film was both creative and beautiful. We were all a bit disappointed with the 3D effects. I saw it with three other people and we all expected a lot of images to come off the screen at us. While a few things here and there did emerge from the screen, for the most part none of us perceived the type of impressive 3D effects that we anticipated.

This movie is a must see! I liked it in 3D but it would be great either way. This a science fiction fantasy thrill ride,even if you don't like sci-fi. The special effects are facinating and brilliant. The scenic colors are breathtaking. I was wishing our planet was as beautiful as theirs, and if you look hard enough you'll see that it is. Some critics say this movie is anti-military but I think they didn't watch the whole movie because they were mercinaries (hired guns) not military. And some critics say this movie is pro earth (tree huggers) I believe that this is somewhat true. I would put this movie in my all time top 5.

I beileve this is a must see if you are into the visual artistry that is presented in this motion picture. Not only was it a masterpice in the visual sence, but a meaningful story line as well. I think it relates well to present time issues.

I went to see this to see what the buzz was about and review it for the family. I had no idea what the movie was about. I walked out of the theater in awe. Besides the stunning visual effects, the story was so deep in multiple ways, the least of which was the love story aspect. Cameron has done it again, which is going to cost me like Titanic did. You can't just see this once, especially 3D IMAX!

This is by far the best movie I have seen in years. Without a doubt the best 3D IMAX movie I have ever seen. I have no doubt that it will win several awards. I will be watching it again before it leaves theaters and purchasing a bluray copy of it. If you are trying to decide whether to see it or not, do not hesitate any longer drop what your doing and go watch it now.

Like all 3D movies, the novelty wore off within minutes and I didn't even notice it was in 3D anymore. The most impressive thing about the movie was the life given to the characters' facial expressions. Technologically speaking, that was the biggest step forward. I'm not quite sure why the movie is the huge hit that it is, but I'm glad that it is making so many people happy. It definitely has a great message.

good:graphics were incredible. great story line. I had to clean off the glasses before the movie started but it was worth it.
bad: 50 minutes of commercials and previews before a 3 hour movie my bladder was hurting halfway through. should have had an intermission

Effects: awesome.
Storyline: forgettable.
Very entertaining, but I have already seen several movies (Fern Gully, Dances with Wolves) that had the same plot. Worth seeing in the theater as the special effects were what made this movie.

The movie was so so beautiful (the colors, etc..) that I can forgive the predictable plot that was pretty much Fern Gully (which I just watched with my 5 year old son). I would definitely recommend it to anyone, simply for the gorgeous special effects that stole the show.

Think of the storyline of "Dances with Wolves"..........Greedy, technologically superior group of life forms try to plunder low-tech, spiritually connected group of life forms' resources. But the ending of this movie is better----it's more hopeful, not so sad.
I usually don't go to movies at the theatre, and I rarely see them more than once ; Netflix 99%of the time. Saw this in IMAX 3-D and was totally amazed. I REALLY want to see this one again, maybe this weekend.

How Avatar won the Golden Globe for Best Drama is entirely beyond me, as every aspect of the plot was predictable from the word "go." That said, the millions poured into special effects were well-spent. Though tickets are pricey, I'd highly recommended the IMAX 3D version of Avator - it's a very impressive visual experience!

I went to see this movie in IMAX 3D. I had to travel over an hour for the 10 p.m. showing. The cinematography and special effects were incredible. The plot was original and interesting. The time went by really quickly even though the movie was long. I have no regrets about getting out so late and having to drive home because I don't think I could have had a better viewing than the IMAX 3D. I can't imagine seeing the movie any other way.

Movie the art, colors and all that makes a picture like this awesome.
I hope that with all the money that they will make off this movie they would donate to a Native American organization or tribe; given that they took the sad reality of what happened to native people and made it a awesome fancy movie.
