Avatar has to be one of the BEST Movies I have seen in ages ( probably 1-2 years). The cinematography, story, music and whole 3D IMAX experience was just superb. This is what you go to the Movies for. I have seen it twice and wil probably see it again. A Masterpiece.

AVATAR, especially in IMAX 3D, reaffirms that pure Cinema is the most important entertainment form and potential teaching tool in the Western World. Great storytelling. Great visuals. Draws you in and holds you from start to finish. All the elements are there. In an industry such as Hollywood, where people are fighting over 'Late Night Talk Show' slots and carving up television drama with '6 Act breaks,' AVATAR proves the point that Cinema is still the medium of the future. AVATAR is the Cinema milestone of this era, as was STAR WARS in 1977. A must-see on the big screen. Hats off to James Cameron and his team. You are King of the World!!!

3D has come a long way since I was a kid, but so have movies. The movie itself was visually stunning with all the rich colors and scenery and 3D just enhances the experience. I found myself trying to blow away the burning embers that floated near me during the final battle.

There is only one word that I can use to describe James Cameron and his AVATAR production team.... GENIUS!!!! This is one of the most amazing films that I have ever seen. AVATAR is visually stunning in a way that words cannot describe...and provides its audience with the most 'elaborate and realistic escape to an alternate world' seen in any film, to date. AVATAR is without a doubt a the 'must-see' movie of the year.... which I highly encourage EVERYONE to see. If you have the opportunity to see the film in IMAX 3-D... spend the extra cash and see AVATAR the way it was meant to be seen... YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!! PS - I am now officially a Sam Worthington FAN : ) !!!!

When you hear a lot of hype on a movie you wonder if it will pan out... it did. Go see it. I was told by co-workers that if you saw the movie is 2D, 3D or the IMAX 3D they were all different experiences.

I saw the movie in IMax 3 D. I have never seen anything so spectacular before. I assume this is the future of action adventure movies. We won't be able to get this type of experience on blue ray for a long time. This technology should keep movie theaters in business for the forseeable future.

Saw the movie last (Date Night) w/ my wife and will be going to see it again on Sunday w/ the kids. It has been a long, long time since I saw a movie in 3D and was expecting to be disappointed, nothing could be further from the truth. The IMAX 3D version is just awesome. And I was so immersed in the show that the 2:40 minute run time was not a problem. GREAT MOVIE. CAN'T WAIT FOR SUNDAY.

This was one of the best movies I have EVER seen. I would definitely recommend seeing it in the 3D version and IMAX if you can. I also recommend the 4:20 show. I felt like I was there. Great fun!

This is the "must-see" movie for this decade. If you are going to see it, do yourself a favor, drive a little farther if necessary, and pay a few dollars more, so that you can experience the world of Pandora in 3D. Nothing will immerse you more; you will actually find yourself swatting at small flying creatures that you will feel are in the theater with you. When the 3D works, it is mind-blowing. When it doesn't, the picture is still vibrant and crystal-clear.

I have seen this movie twice--regular 3D and IMAX 3D. Of course IMAX was incredible, but I have to say I was so WOW'd the first go around that I wanted to see it again and went to IMAX. This film is overall one of the best experiences I have ever had in the theater. My only disappointment is that some people I talked to think it is a pure science fiction film, and I have yet to convince them to see it even though I am absolutely breathless when I describe what I saw. They think something's wrong with me!!!!!

Sure, this is a visually stunning movie, as is any James Cameron flick, but is this the greatest movie of all time? No, absolutely not. It's amazing that Cameron can spend all that time making this film, and the dialogue can be so bad. It's not enough to make it a bad movie by any means, but there are so many things that distract this movie from greatness. It's simply a very good sci-fi movie, nothing more.

I went and saw AVATAR last night on the IMAX screen in 3-D. In 5 weeks this movie has made about $1.7 BILLION dollars. After seeing it, I see why ! The 3-D was was incredible, the story was great, the action was awesome. After a few minutes, you completely forget that you are even watching CGI characater. It definitely lives up to the hype. If you go and see it, DEFINITETY see it in IMAX 3-D. Get there early or it may sell out.

Saw this on IMAX 3D with my wife, we were so blown away by the CG. The plot is simplistic
and predictable, but the movie is an epic adventure for the eyes. Highly recommend
this to adults, but violence is intense for the younger ones.

This is the greatest film ever made. I saw it last Tuesday and am going to see it again (as many times as I can) while it's still in the theaters. The visual experience is breathtaking. The world that was created for this film is like nothing I have ever seen before. I love the story and the characters. The characters' struggle to achieve their needs is an historical one, and the ending (I won't give it away) is sublime. I'm still overwhelmed with emotion each time I think about this movie. I'll say it again: this is the greatest film ever made.

Fantastic special effects, CGI, the perfect creation of a fantasy world, the action, the adventure, the humour - all nice.
The story is not so original. The "white man" comes to save the natives from himself. The only nice twist here is that the native does end up saving him back in the end.
You've seen the story before, but you have NEVER seen it like this!
If you haven't already, go see it - this is one movie that must be seen, nay, "experienced" on the big screen.

I loved this movie. It had everything. It was very sad. It was exhilarating. It was suspenseful. It made you think. The special effects were awesome to behold. I saw the movie in IMAX 3-D. But the story line held up. I cared about the main characters. I bought in 110%. Go see it. You won't be sorry. This is one movie that justifies the expense of going to the big screen.
