Excellent, but...

Fantastic special effects, CGI, the perfect creation of a fantasy world, the action, the adventure, the humour - all nice.
The story is not so original. The "white man" comes to save the natives from himself. The only nice twist here is that the native does end up saving him back in the end.
You've seen the story before, but you have NEVER seen it like this!
If you haven't already, go see it - this is one movie that must be seen, nay, "experienced" on the big screen.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I went to see this movie on the big screen instead of renting it on Netflix because I thought it would merit a big screen viewing. It did not. It was more like a 2-hour season premier. Mulder is still funny and Dana is still loyal and Skinner makes an appearance in the final minutes of the movie, but what was the biggest draw for me towards the X-Files...i.e., the SciFi aspect, was totally and utterly missing. This was more like a horror movie with Mulder and Scully in the lead. If it were not an X-files movie, I probably would have given it 5-stars because it IS a good movie, it's just not X-Files Movie worthy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
