We were at the theater 40 minutes prior to the movie, got our snacks and without being asked to see our $28.00 tickets, walked in to the theater. The only available seating for 2, was in the 3rd row from the screen and our experience was miserable. My neck still hurts. I wonder how many $10.00 ticket holders, with tickets for other movies in the complex, were able to sneak in and snatch up the better seats. Our birthday celebration was a bust!

The animation is so lifelike and flawless, you have no problem immersing yourself in it's alien world. I am in the VFX business and even after watching it four times I can't find a single moment I would call "fake".
As for the naysayers pointing out the unoriginal story: yes, it has been done before, but not like this. The characters are so well developed that you feel for them in a way that only James Cameron can accomplish. Just sit and let the movie take you away and you will have an amazing experience.

This movie was the full deal , technology mixed with a excellent story line. The most amazing part about the movie are the vibrant colors. I was really amazed with the kind of alien enviroment this movie creates which seems so real yet so different. Hats off to Cameron and his team.

I know there are a lot of critics for this movie for a lot of dumb reasons. It is just a movie, meant to entertain, not make social statement. Having said that I want to add the visuals were spectacular. Sit down, put the glasses on and let yourself drift away in the movie. But watch out I really thought there were sparks floating out, of the screen towards me.

I saw this movie in IMAX...a must! Aside from the unparalleled visual effects, the story and message provides viewers with a new perspective on the life one lives. I was near tears throughout parts of the movie. There are so many inspiring and touching moments in the story. I will undoubtedly see Avatar again.

I took my 73 year-old mother (who had never been to a 3D movie or an iMax) to this film. She was not only overwhelmed by the movie itself,but also by the experience of seeing it on a giant screen in 3D (and in a very comfortable chair). The only suggestion I would make is to provide some benches along the line we had to wait in for nearly an hour to get into the theater. There were a lot of elderly people who could have used them to relieve the pain of being in line for so long. Also, water should not be $4 a bottle.

From the opening credits, I was totally immersed. This was an Imax showing where the sights and sound were awesome. The movie was over too quickly. Although the subject matter was not new, the approach, the sights and sounds were riveting . I didn't spend time trying to get a deep message from the events in Pandora but if you want to see a great movie for sheer enjoyment , this is it.

This was one of the best epic love stories I have ever seen! It is a clear description of how destructful our race is when it comes to greed! I loved how the characters took on the resemblance of the human & how the Avatar's has such a connection with their environment. The story is decent - I would say it was better than Titanic but I didn't really like Titianic's story, which I thought was forced into the visual effects spectacle. Here, however, the story integrates fairly seemlessly into the "wowee" effects - the main character is experiencing a completely new world and so are you. I can't say that I would give it so high a rating if it weren't in IMAX 3D (probably just 3 or 4 stars).

It is difficult to put into words how visually stunning this movie is. Growing up watching the technology of movie making progress in small steps with an occasional leap has been the norm. The last decade, however, has delivered more leaps than steps. From the scope and seamless ness of the LOTR trilogy to the digital magic performed with that first Toy Story movie to the Blended CGI of the Jurassic Park series, it has been one leap after another. This movie presents a running broad jump. I could not tell where cgi left off and reality began. The camera angles and motion were intense. The motion was non stop which, did bother some people as there was no break from it and I could see them turn away.

This is our 2nd time seeing this film - and the 1st feature film we've seen in IMAX 3D. We're pretty much spoiled for any other theater now...
We very much enjoyed the movie - It's a nice love story with a message - and the visuals are mind blowing. Seeing it on an IMAX screen in 3D made it that much more stunning. (I'd go see a mockumentary on the "Flora and Fauna of Pandora" as long as it's IMAX 3D.)
