a facinating and visual experience. the 3-d effects were quite incredible, and most of the characters strongly defined. i have only two gripes. it needs a back story or two. how was the planet Pandora discovered and how long had the Terran miners strip-mined it? also, why were all the invaders American and mostly white? and can a human/Navi clone reproduce? they're saving that for the sequel!

I took my family to see Avatar on a traditional big screen cinema, and we really enjoyed it. This weekend we went to watch it on IMAX 3D and it was incredidable. This is a must see film in IMAX.

My husband and I saw the movie last night, IMAX 3D, and you feel like you're right there with what's going on. Story line grips you, makes you feel a variety of emotions. Characters are fitting and actor/actresses fit their roles well. I can't wait until it's released on Blu-Ray. I'll buy it!

what a great experience for a first time Imax 3D movie! the theater was sold out and we had to set in the front row and it was still great. It's been a while since I have had a movie please me as much as this one did. It had something for everyone. I would go see it again.

I had no desire to see this movie - just not my taste. My husband has been wanting to go, so we both decided to see it only because everyone else that says they don't like this type of movie and saw it said it was absolutely a must to see - so we did. We both spent the first half hour of the movie looking at the vivid colors and the whole 3D affect. There were times I wanted to reach up and swat one of the bugs flying around. Yes, it's an absolute must to see.

We were 3 senior adults and we all enjoyed this movie experience at the IMAX. Loved the 3-D effects! We were in the forest and in the action. Sam Worthington played his role skillfully. Want to see him in new movies soon!! I liked Michelle Rodriguez's performance too. James Cameron deserves Best Director and this movie deserves Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

My husband and daughter saw the movie first and loved it. So much so that they had to watch it again with the IMAX experience. They urged me to see it with them and I'm glad I did. I dont care much for sci-fi stuff but this movie immensely amazed me. Great special effects and storyline. It has all the ingredients of a record-breaking movie. Love it and I cant wait for Avatar 2.

This movie is so good I saw it a second time and I neever see movies 2x on the big screen! The time flew by so quick eventhough I knew what wa going to happen, you never realize it's 2.5 hours long, never a dull moment, not even one. The only part I didn't like was the creatures noses, didn't look cool. Outta here....

Awesome plot and character development. The special effects lended itself to the story and did not detract from the plot. The IMAX 3D had way better sound and 3D effects than the non-IMAX 3D Avatar showing that I saw a week ago. Great movie to see even if you are not a sci-fi fan. A great movie to see during the Valentine's season due to the love story.

I saw Avatar in San Franciso on a regular, big screen over the holidays and it blew my socks off. I saw it again a month later in Michigan on IMAX /3D. Since I knew the story, I enjoyed the effects all the more. The colors are saturated and there is a graceful elegance of movement throughout the movie. In another month, I'll probably go again. The DVD will never be able to replace the big screen enjoyment.

This is an absolutely beautiful movie. The world James Cameron has created will move you and leave you yearning to be a part of it. It is a beautiful story and the length wasn't an issue at all. I could have watched another hour of this incredible spectacle. If you are debating whether or not to see this movie, go see it. It is completely worth it.

The story line has been told a thousand times, but never like this. The imagination and technical execution were incredible. My heart was thumping, my palms were sweating, and I got that looking over the edge feeling in the aerial and climbing sequences. I'm spoiled.

I just saw Avatar in 3D at the Imax theater. Wow, Wow, and double Wow! The animation is absolutely beautiful. They have created a world full of visual delights and it is wonderful in 3D. The story has a beautiful, touching environmental message and a love story, nothing new but still very engaging and topical! I heartily recommend it!

If you are prone to motion sickness do not see this movie in IMAX 3D! I watched about 8 minutes before I had to close my eyes so I didn’t get sick. The movie its self looks interesting and I want to go back to see it in normal movie format.

Great visual effects the 3D version is great because the plants and the shrapnel pop out at you, though most of the other stuff remains flat. Totally worth the extra to do 3D and Imax.
