A unique experience unlike any other. I have now traveled into outer space to a beautiful new world filled with beings so compelling that I was hoping and praying they could overcome the invaders- humans. I loved it and I will see it again.

It was powerfully moving! I was on the edge of my seat at times and I cried at other times. This movie is a must see in theaters, and will be a must own when it comes out! Stunning visuals! I was just amazed and that doesnt happen often!

This was a wonderful movie brought to life by an outstanding 3D experience. My 10-year-old daughter was completely riveted during the entire 2 hours and 40 minutes--which says a lot for the film. I would recommend it to anybody, both young and old. Lots of eye candy, action and a great message about taking care of the earth.

Avatar is more an experience than a mere movie and must be seen in IMAX 3D to get the full effect. The world of Pandora contains detail and imagination beyond anything ever created in a movie before.
The story borrows heavily from Dances With Wolves. And the moral of the story, that only environmentalists and communal quasi-American Indians are pure enough to show the otherwise evil capitalist humans how to behave, is typical leftist Hollywood pap.
Nevertheless, the story moves with a lot of action and heart and never becomes boring. And the special effects are so breathtaking that you remain amazed at the experience of visiting an alien world.
This is a fun and visually amazing movie that I highly recommend.

One word - AWESOME! Oops, need 50. It has been awhile since a really ground breaking sci-fi movie. Most of the recent ones fell into the same old tired cliches. This was definitely the best in a long time.

A great action movie with incredible special 3D effects which will have you literally jumping out of your seat dodging flying objects coming towards you. I know because I did. And the movie actually has a good plot with elements of "Dances with Wolves", "Little Big Man", Halo and MechWarrior video games. Overall, a great movie which I will pay to see again - a rarity for me. And above all else, make sure you see it in 3D.

There is nothing that compares to what I experienced while watching this movie. The enormity of the special effects- yeah, big impact. But, along with this was a story of love between two and those of a world. Action packed in a very believable universe. Wonderful work of art! Go see it!

Loved the movie. The story line tends to dwell too long on some of the native cultural stuff, but the eye-popping special effects more than make up for it. Loved the references to "Shock and awe" and other war on terror terminology from A Dubya-like Texan war hawk! Watch it in 3D IMAX for the full effects!

Every frame of this movie is beautiful. The CG animation is flawless, down to the minutia of detail. This is the first movie I've seen where the lines between CG and live film are seamlessly integrated so there is no sense of real vs. animation. I was completely immersed in every moment, feeling part of the story. A truly defining step ahead in CG animation and live film integration.

My wife and myself loved the way this movie was done. Avatar is a true technical marvel. Its just a shame it put our military in such a bad light . The truth is if we ever find such a place we set it aside and would leave it alone just like we have our National Parks.

This was a very low-expectation having movie for me, and happily it exceeded my minimal expectations. If you are going to see it, definitely see it in IMAX 3D. It adds a nice depth to the environment. Story-wise, it was average. Nothing special, nothing unexpected. It is very stereotypical and easy to figure out. No surprises at all. Simplistic characters, minimal development. But it is very reminiscent of any Miyazaki movie in terms of the life of the animals and plants and planet. And this helps elevate it.
