so very happy that we saw this movie in 3d imax it will be one of those movies you will always remember when you first saw it . this was my first time w/ imax love it and the 1st time in many years w/ 3d and I love 3d now

The movie itself was excellent. We saw it twice. The first time that we saw it was on a regular screen with 3-D. The second time we saw it was on the I-Max. We wanted to see it on the larger screen. We were disappointed in the quality of the 3-D at the I-Max. I would recommend that you see this in a theatre that has the real 3-D technology. The screen was bright and clear without anything being out of focus.

The movie was entertaining up until the point when the projector broke. After waiting for over a half an hour, they finally got it going again without 3D or the audio in synch so I got a refund and left. I had high hopes of being blown away by watching this movie in IMAX 3D, but it obviously didnt deliver. I'm going to watch it again, but I'm starting to have my doubts about the "IMAX Experience." Another gripe I have is that the image didnt even fill the whole screen - and I was at a wide screen IMAX. At least cover up the screen not being used by curtains - I thought that was one of the things you paid for when you went to a theater.

If you want to see photo realistic special effects, the best movie this year, something that will make you feel like the first time you saw Jurassic Park or Star Wars, then come and experience Avatar. You have to see it in IMAX (real) in 3D. It is really worth your hard earned money!

Remember when films used to literally take you away from your everyday reality into a fantasy world? This movie did that for me. Someone wrote, this film is not just a movie, it's an experience. I couldn't agree more. The movie was close to 3 hours long... but it didn't feel like that at all. I wanted more! Yes, it's a scifi flick with tons of CG, but you completely forget that because everything looks so good and so real. Do yourself a favor... watch this film at least twice as I did. You'll thank me for it.

This wasn't just a great movie - but it was a great experience! Watching it in 3D IMAX was amazing. I'm glad I didn't take my 5 year old, because the movie is pretty deep for young ones, but may reconsider just for the 3D visual effects.

Like what Jake Sully said "OUTSTANDING" this movie exceded all my expectations! Cameron said he wanted to bring people back to the movies and he succeeded. You cannt even tell which one is CGI and the real one. I would watch this movie again!!!

I highly recommend this movie. In fact, I liked it so much, I watched the standard version one night and went back the following night to catch it in 3D. I do recommend getting there early to get a decent seat, though. I was there 20 minutes early and had to sit too close. The visual effects are stunning and the story completely draws you in. By far the best movie I have seen in a long time.

Like many of you, I have been underwhelmed by movies over the past 10 years or so. We've been promised "groundbreaking" or "breathtaking" for so long, it's lost its meaning.
However, not since "Jurassic Park" have I been so captivated as I was for "Avatar" in 3D. Cameron's use of the technology was brilliant in every frame. There is no cheesy "woah, that stick almost hit me" 3D shock here. Rather, it helped to connect to the characters and the rich world that Cameron created. I think that without the depth added by 3D technology, I would not have appreciated the movie nearly as much as I did. The blend of visual and the flawless digital audio was perfect. Highly recommended!

Quite simply, the most amazing and immersive movie experience of my life! It is more than just a movie, it is an experience. The CG wizardry is the best to date....hands down. Visuals aside, the story has heart and message and is strong throughout. If you are having reservations about seeing it in 3D, let alone IMAX 3D, trust me......this is the way you want to see it. This is a game changer.

I enjoyed the fantasy culture that the movie created. The I-max and 3D truely enhanced the experience. The colors and computer special effects were fabulous. Sort of a science fiction re-inaction of the Little Big Horn. The battle scene at the end was necessary, but predictable. If they could have left that out, I still would have loved the film. This is a "landmark" film.

Love the movie, but I wish the seats of IMAX 3D theater at the Del Amo 18 could be pre-assigned. We were there 30mins earlier before the show, but the seats were 85 percents full, a lot of people came in later just walked out of the show before it started due to no seats available.

As a film student and general movie addict, I can say that 90% of films out there just don't make the cut. The other 9.99999% are generally entertaining, however, after having my mind thoroughly blown in the IMAX theater, (and taking a day to collect myself), I realized something. Never before has a movie drawn me in so deeply before. The next morning I found myself wanting to go back to the non-existent land James Cameron created. Visuals are flawless, the story makes sense, and the acting...? surprisingly good. I don't think ill be able to go back to watching regular movies after this... so I guess I should thank Mr. Cameron for ruining every movie experience I will have here on out, well, at least till he makes another film. 9.9/10

I went and saw this movie with my father. He is usually pretty picky with movies. Both of us agree. This is the best movie we have ever scene. The 3D rocks. I can't wait to see it again. I would recommend anyone seeing this movie to see it in 3D if they can. Even without the movie, I am sure it will still be good though!
